Not exactly what you asked for but it has all you are looking for plus more. I could revise it and post it tomorrow.

Tried using the motley mods diagrams but there are none like I am looking for! Tried figuring it out but I don't have the cash to replace parts if I blow something out!

You mind drawing me up a diagram as to how to wire up a triple series please?

Just leave off the PWM circuit and use a SPST switch if you only want an unregulated MOSFET Mod.

To use a Pot you will need the 555 timer circuit. You can use whatever battery configuration you would like. That only impacts the fuse and the anticipated max current will have a bearing on the MOSFET spec. What is the rating on your MOSFET? To use a Pot only it would have to be huge. The safest use is going PWM. You may want to check out Big Al's Mods. He has some good PWM boards that are fairly inexpensive.

What about how Darth vapors builds theirs! They don't use any chip or triple nickels

I want to build just like that only adding a master kill and pot

Maybe you should try to talk to him. I personally wouldn't do that. By doing what you are saying is building a voltage divider between the Pot and Atomizer coil. You would have to make sure the Pot you have chosen would stand up to the power/heat generated by being used as such. Additionally, you would drain your batteries quicker doing that verses using a pulse. Just my $0.02 worth as a person with an Electronic Engineering degree.

There is no pot that will fit in a mod that will handle the current required in a mod. And if you use one to vary the current output from a from a FET by varying gate voltage then the wattage dissipated by the FET will fry it in short order without a LARGE heat sink.

I have some pots that would do it.
About 2 lbs and 5 inches in diameter and get HOT!
Big mostly ceramic things.

@The Cromwell That's what I was trying to tell him... especially if you saw my prior posts. The links I gave him will hopefully help educate him and the first one has using it as a voltage divider with the voltage and current he's talking about as a DON'T DO IT.

I was trying to get him to see the light of going with a 555 timer (PWM) to switch the MOSFETs. The best and safest way to go IMHO. I can't in good conscious tell him to do something that's dangerous or will likely do a prompt fail.

Same here.
That was my last post to him as he seems determined to just use a pot to control 20 amps or more at 12 volts....
Would take a BIG pot and the pot would get as hot or hotter than his atty.

Maybe just put wicking on the pot and drip on it?
LOL

there are valid technical reasons why VW/VV mods use a DC/DC converter circuit vs a variable output transistor type of circuit.

3 ways to go with a high current mod.
DC/DC converter circuit.
PWM aka pulsed DC.
or Mosfet switched on or off.
Or of course a mech.

I went and looked at all the Darth Vapor Triple 18650 Box Mods and not a single one had a visible Pot. The Triple Series was PWM.

Actually if you look closer at their triple series mods they are offering the only one with a pot is a Silent PWM. All the others are just unregulated Triples with mosfet to protect switch. If the reason you are insisting on a pot is because you have already drilled and mounted it then Dependent on the which one you have either 200. 1K. or 10K will determine what regulator board you need to add. Those type of pots need to work with some type of regulator board.

Just to make sure it was Darthvaper box mods you were talking about?

Corrected... I did find that one.

My suggestion would be to not hook up the Pot (if money isn't available to buy the components to use it safely), add a fuse to protect the batteries, and just use it as an unregulated mod until you have the money to buy the parts to correctly implement use of the Pot.

Thanks for making a long time member feel like a retard! All I asked was for a diagram & all I get is bashed. I guess I will just stick with Facebook and uninstall this app again!

I'm not bashing you and I think it can safely be said that none of those posting want you to get hurt or do something that would greatly increase the probability of it. If you feel that I was bashing you, report me.

I just hope he doesn't go to his aforementioned place and get bad advice that ends with him getting hurt. Vapers don't need any more bad press. We have a big enough battle on our hands.

Yeah 3 batteries could be real bad with violent venting.

You folks have been more than helpful and kind, and he has no reason to feel like that. I felt the love every step of the way, up until he got offended, and you still never got out of line. Pat yourself on the back. He may lose his face, but it won't be your fault.

Guy gets offended because you told him things he didn't want to hear or had the ability (or was reluctant) to understand. Sounds familiar. ;)
