Greetings from Maine!

Hi folks, my name is Dale and I live in Portland, Maine. I've smoked for 40 years and over the past 10 years, made a few attempts at quitting. Every few years, I'd try whatever vaping device was available at the gas station but nothing really worked for me. Last Spring, I made another run at it. I started in my usual manner by using Chantix for a couple of weeks then started reducing my almost 2 packs a day to about 5 cigarettes a day over the course of about a month. It was then that I realized that I missed the actual act of smoking more than I did my dependence on nicotine. This time I went into an actual vape shop; No beer, no cigarettes, no "glass products" nor lottery tickets. A knowledgeable sales staff asked the right questions to be able to make a recommendation on a setup for my needs. I went home with a 75w kit and some 3mg juice. I loved it but I still wanted to smoke cigarettes. Went back the next week and got some 6mg and never looked back. I finally didn't feel the need to smoke a cigarette. That was back in June. Last week, I started getting all my juice in 3mg and so far, so good. I'll go a couple more months then try 1.5 or 0 nic. Being the tinkerer that I am, I've amassed a collection of hardware and recently started making my own coils. Hey, I needed another hobby...
So hopefully I'm done with the smoking for good. I thought about quitting when my kids were young, again when I had a heart attack, after I lost my spouse to cancer... Nope. It took a $60 device made in China to accomplish that.

Nice to be here and I'm sure I'll learn plenty along the way. Cheers!

Welcome and glad you joined.
I hear you, the good news is vaping only gets better the longer you stay with it. I'm at zero, so if I can do it young follow, anyone can.
