HELP! Nic Salts, Subohm, I'm so confused

OK so here is alittle back story, I have been a "dipper" (Smokeless tobacco) for about 4 years. I really want.need to quit as I've started to notice early warning signs of oral cancer.

I decided to try vaping using a high level of nicotine and to start weaning myself down slowly to help "kill the can"

I bought a Kangertech Subvod pen and 2 juices. One is Vaping.com Tobacco flavored 18mg and a Solace Latte flavored 30mg.

I've been reading about how I shouldn't use such high levels of nicotine in a subohm pen, is this true? To be honest everything is so so confusing, I'm trying to read up and understand vaping and everything but the more I read the more I get confused. Can someone help me out and steer me in the right direction as to what to use and how to help kill the can?

Are the liquids you have made with nicotine salts or are they just regular nicotine juice?

The info you are reading on salts is correct. Salts are mainly used for pods which have a different type of delivery system. Salts are twice as strong then regular juice with absorbing into your body immediately, real fast. So not recommended unless you have salts in low mg half lower then what you normally vape.

Hello and welcome to the VU family.
You are fine at 30mg nic salts. Some pods use as high as 50mg. Salts are useful to those just getting off tobacco. I use them in my diy juices for smooth throat hit. As your body adjusts to the nic delivery vaping provides you can slowly reduce your nic levels. Your body will tell you when it is time to step down nic levels.

If he not nic sick he is still fine using 30mg commercial juice. If he were using diy I would recommend stepping down slowly. I don't know what they do to commercial juice salts, but it is not the same as my 100mg diy nic salts.

It really isn't the resistance of the coil, as much as the coil build.
Using a 0.5 ohm (sub ohm) coil build..
28ga kanthal, parallel coil, 5 wraps on a 2.5mm inner diameter core would deliver a lot more nicotine and vapor than
32ga Stainless steel, parrallel, 4 wraps on a 2.5mm id core.
Both are 0.5 ohm, but the kanthal is a much larger coil, with more surface area, so it therefore delivers more vapor and nicotine than the smaller SS coil.
So as long as you arent getting nic sick (nicotine overdose) *usually you would feel light headed or a bit nauseous, (just stop vaping til it passes), then you are fine. Nicotine isn't as bad as anti-smoking lobbyists have been making it out to be.

I get about the same nic fix from regular nicotine or nicotine salts at the same Nic strength, the main difference being that Nicotine Salts is a lot smoother (doesn't have the same nic hit to the throat at higher nicotine levels).
What strength to use for Nicotine Salts depends on what you want to achieve - if you want to vape less ejuice at a higher nicotine strength, then you can use a pod mod, or low power tank (say 8 to 12W) to vape high nic salts. If you want to vape the same amount of juice as you normally do at a higher power, then use the same level nicotine salts as in your regular nicotine. One thing to be aware of though, with nicotine salts you don't get the nic hit harshness, and might vape until you feel dizzy because you could be vaping more since its so smooth.

I vape 32 to 36 mg nic salts in a pod mod or 24 mg nic salts (diy) in a doggystyle tank using 0.6 ohm 28 AWG SS wire, so yes you can "subohm" nic salts, but in the tank I'm only vaping at 11.5 to 12W Mouth to Lung, and I only vape a total of about 2 1/2 ml ejuice a day. Others get their nic fix by vaping far more juice, direct lung and at much higher power - if I were doing that I would use the same nic strength as I normally would with regular nicotine base. Bottom line is you will tend to vape what you need to be satisfied, your total daily nicotine intake needs can be met either way. :)
