Drop RDA

I got my Digiflavor Drop RDA from Heaven Gifts a couple weeks ago and I've been loving this RDA. Build quality is really good, everything fits snug. I love the build deck, very easy to build on and works great for single or dual coils and has a nice deep juice well. The airflow is very smooth and quiet, easy to adjust and flavor has been outstanding. It works great as a dual coil RDA, but I've been using primarily as a single coil squonker and have been very happy with it.

I picked up the Dead Rabbit just because of the two tone colored Drop. Needed a fully blacked out RDA to match a Wismec RX2 I won on Mod Envy. Once Digiflavor comes out with some solid colors, Ill grab one.

The Dead Rabbit is awesome and it's the easiest RDA to build on ever. My friend even uses one and she's new too building :)

me too so I am leaning towards both and a 2nd athena

Skold was telling me about both the dead rabbit and drop being decent ...I’m intrigued so I’ll have to pick up both in the new year

By then will the drip and decayed rabbit be released though :D

I just got The Drop in Black. The Top Cap and Base are stainless Steel and the Mid-Cap is Black.

Looks great sitting on top of my Black Reuleaux RX200

I gotta ask.

On my Drop, I have the one with the Black Barrel, the o-Rings are so tight I cannot get the barrel off or put it back on without fear of breaking my mod.

I figured that once a little juice got on the O-rings it would become easier to remove and install the barrel. Not the case.

I have already had to replace the O-rings with the replacements provided and still have the same problem except it has now gotten worse.

I got in touch with DigiFlavor, even sent them a video showing the trouble I am having. DigiFlavor said they would send more O-Rings when they have them in stock. Say what? In stock? They don't have O-Rings in stock? I call BS on that one and I have heard nothing from them since.

I am still loving the ease of building, the air flow, the flavor production but this O-Ring thing is really starting to bug me.

Anyone else have this problem?

I find the original bottom o-rings are very tight on my Drop as well.

I build on a tank stand, so I don't fear hurting my mods.

I have poked around a bit and heard some people using o-rings that are slightly thinner and being successful. I would try this if you have any spare o-rings that fit the bill laying around. I don't find the tight fit to be an issue myself, but if I did, this is where I would start. Just be certain to not make too drastic of a change or you may induce leaking.

Overall I enjoy my Drop very much.

Or just take an oring off and just use 1 oring

Hmmm, not sure what size O-Rings I might have.

I have also heard of taking one of the O-Rings off. Removing an O-Ring would cause me to be concerned about leaking but at this point I will try anything.

I was not a big RDA guy until the Drop was released. I tried RDA's a couple of years ago and could never quite get the flavor I wanted. With the Drop a pair of premium coils Flavor is not an issue.

Yep, I am enjoying the Drop as well.

I would take the bottom oring off.

I was thinking by leaving the top o-ring on that would help prevent leaking better at the most likely place a flow of juice could start.

Thanks for your help, I will give it a try.

I liked the reviews I saw and was going to get one until i saw the build deck. Your second picture shows what I feel is wrong with it.
The opening for the coil is bigger than the screw and the lead on the left slipped along side the screw not under it. May be ok in power mode but makes the resistance unstable for proper TC. I speak from experience with other RDA's I own. Not a big deal but you have to make sure your under the screw when you tighten it. I'll probably eventually get one but I feel it's a flaw that needn't be. Others may not care or use bigger wire.

I do like the Dead Rabbit, I have a 3 mm id SS316L 26/30 Clapton going right down the middle and up high using both air flow holes on a VT inbox in TC and it works well. I mounted the coil diagonally on the deck and it goes right in the middle without bending the leads to the side.

I do agree with your comment on the screws, with the Drop you do need to pay attention to make sure the coil leads are under the screw and don't slip off to the side.

As far as the Dead Rabbit goes, the lack of a true juice well and the spinning top resulting in miss aligned air vents, or having to take off the top to remove from mod resulting in juice everywhere is a flaw too.

As with everything, one can find a flaw in anything if you want. It's more a matter of personal taste and what we are willing to accept. Both are good RDA's. IMHO the Drop edges out the Dead Rabbit.

THAT^ forget single strand wire...had to use claptons for the fatness.
Also, mine has tight o-rings so my barrel wont go all the way down on the notches.

Let's see, what else don't I love? Oh yea the deck, IMHO, is too deep in relation to where the coil ends up...I had the wire it from the underneath the posts to get the coil low enough for reasonable length wicking.
I've found after about 2 weeks, especially for single coil squonking,I'd give this RDA about a C-.

I removed the bottom o-ring and now the barrel goes on easy. Great advice from Don29Palms. Thanks!

You have to be deliberate when you clamp down your coils. When installing coils it is important take your time when tightening the screws down to make sure the leg of the coil does not slip away from the screw. Once you get one leg clamped down the other falls into place quite nicely.

Not hard to coil. I have no problem wicking the coils.

I currently have fused claptons installed and it is vaping great

Still loving the Drop RDA.

Deleting the bottom o-ring fixed the tightness issue. Thanks for that!
/fingers crossed my over-squonking noob habits don't get messy(er)...
It's entirely possible that any other issues experienced with this topper so far are user related. ;)

I use the dead rabbit on my Athena and love the combo

There are so many Great RDA's on the market these days, from the Goon to the Bonza, the Dead Rabbit, the Drop, the Cosmonaut and so many others. No matter which one you choose you can't go wrong in most cases.

Amazing that a few minor technological advances can bring about such wonderful new devices. Whether you are a cloud chaser or a flavor chaser there are many great options to choose from. The new RDA's paired with the right coils are a wonderful thing.

I actually like the RDA that comes with the Athena. It was a pleasant surprise despite someone's bad review, lol.
I picked my athena up as mod only.
Still waiting for South African customs to clear my package so using a druga now.

AriesJJ from AriesJJ Coils like to say "It is your vaping journey." And he's right. That is all that matters. We could like similar juices or not, we could like similar hardware or not, it is about what you enjoy. So enjoy and have fun. Isn't that what it is really all about.

The Drop is my fav RDA right now, but you're right, there are a bunch of great RDAs out there. It comes down to personal preference and what works best for you.

I am liking the Drop immensely myself. I was put off by the o-ring issue but Digiflavor (GeekVape) has sent me new o-rings, customer support from them has been good so we will see when the new o-rings arrive what my final rating of the Drop will be. Don't get me wrong I'll still think it is a great RDA and use it but will have to deduct a few percentage points. If the new o-rings fix the issue I am having of course I will add points and my personal rating will be even higher.

The Drop and Cosmonaut are my two RDA's and I am liking them both. The Drop is easy to install coils and wick, the Cosmonaut is super easy to install coils, wicking is a challenge , not hard different and I am looking for that perfect wicking technique. I only have had it since Tuesday.

Both RDA's provide outstanding flavor and cloud production. Airflow is nice on both, I think the airflow on the Drop is a bit smoother but that is my opinion. Someone else could believe that the Cosmonaut's airflow is better. Don't get me wrong, I'm still saying both are great RDA's.

I'm thinking about getting a Goon but my problem is I only have 3 mods and with the Kylin tank, the Drop and the Cosmonaut do I really need another RDA and mod? First world problems I guess. :shades:

I guess I got lucky, my orings fit just fine. I do keep a small assortment of orings as I haven't been as lucky with a couple tanks and RDAs or just need to replace older ones.

Darn my luck. :grumpy: :D

There's a trick paintball players use to do to custom fit their orings in their paintball equipment. They would take a polishing compound (something similar to Brasso, and use it on the oring. It would take awhile but work reasonably well because it allowed them to achieved the perfect fit and tension. You can also use high-grit sandpaper (like 800/1000/1200 from the autoparts store, not from home improvement stores) and sand the outside edge of the oring. I would probably go that route since you don't need a perfect fit and it's a lot quicker. Be sure to wet the sandpaper beforehand, and don't get it close to the atomizer itself (obviously lol).

I received the new o-rings and just installed them. Yep, the o-rings that came with the RDA were wrong. The new o-rings are smaller in diameter and thickness. Now the mid-cap (Barrel) slide on and off as it should. I wish they would have sent me more than 4 but I ain't complainin'.

Those they may have o-ring issues contact digiflavor support.

I'm very happy now. Back to lovin' the Drop. :bingo:

Just found this post and see that others have had issues with the o-rings on their Drop, mine is way too tight for the top cap so I guess I can try the trick minimag03 mentioned and contact Digiflavor. I'd been holding off hoping it would loosen up but not so much. Thanks all for the great info!

I bought a SS version since posting and had the same problem. The orings they included with the RDA are the wrong size completely. It's such a larger different that the polishing compound method wouldn't work, but high-grit sandpaper might get the job done.

I just contacted DigiFlavor. This isn't an issue of an oring that's slightly out of spec, it's completely the wrong size lol. DigiFlavor had me email them a picture of my authentication code and pictures of the orings. I thought that was pretty shitty considering they know this is a problem with all the original color Drops and the fix costs them less than three pennies. I did get my orings a few weeks later though, and they fit perfectly now.

Thanks, I just sent them an email. I had posted in vendor reviews about this RDA, when it came the silver security tape which resides inside of the clear wrap had been cut. From the responses it appears that this is par for the course! Pretty odd though.

The Vapor Chronicales (the guy who designed it) even mentioned tabs being broken was normal. Mine was that way as well. It makes me wonder if they boxed it up without everything inside and had to redo them all lol.

I should have been more clear. I sent an email to the customer service on the Digiflavor website and never got a response. I actually had to call the number on the Digiflavor site. He told me to send the pictures I mentioned to [email protected] (I think that was the email, but you'd better call to double check). Just don't be surprised if you don't hear back from the Digiflavor email, I never did..

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking, like maybe they forgot the o-rings and put the wrong size ones in :giggle:
Thanks I'll call tomorrow.

So I've been contemplating the design of the Drop and have an idea for a Drop MK II and am wondering if anyone might have suggestions as to who to contact?
