I had 5 it them that all went to fans of the brand. One I shipped over seas somewhere.
I was going to keep them for the vapocolypse but figured I would keep mech mods for that. If it ever gets biblical I can always build an Okl or dna box with spare parts. Lol

OH yeah... In the spirit of not getting myself started, I'll stop there.

(I was hoping for a provape/evolv collaboration)

Im not going to be getting an rda and building for a atleast a few weeks maybe even a month but since theres no tank how often do you need to rewet the wicks and does what the cotton absorb last a while? Also im guessing when you have an rda on your mod your going to want to keep it upright so that the juice doesnt seep out the airflow valve this correct?

RBA (rebuildable atomizer) can be either RDA (rebuildable drip atomizer) or RTA (rebuildable tank atomizer) or some of us RSA (rebuildable squonk atomizer)

RDA you drip the juice on, RTA you fill a tank. RSA, you squeeze a bottle in the mod itself that is under the atomizer

The coils can last for several months if you take care of them by dry burning and reworking

How often they need to be dry burned or reworked depends on a number of factors

Some dry burn and rewick every day or couple of days, I do mine weekly, whether they need it or not

Some just keep vaping till it fails, might be a day, a week, a month

yeah i plan on starting with an rda one of the ones with the 4 posts that are in a straight line that way i can do a parallel dual build like the one in the picture which i know in the picture its an RTA but thats just how i want my coils to look coil.jpg also you want to keep your mod upright that way theres less risk of the juice seeping out the airflow valves right?

its probably more convenient building on an RTA being you dont have to redrip the wicks but i read its easier to start on an RDA but i might just go for the RTA due to the convenience of filling it and im up for a challenge and feel like I would have sort of an easy time getting the hang of it

Keep your airflow closed when filling, if ya got a tank, can't speak for RDA's but I assume the same. I close mine off when I go to bed, other than that I keep it open to where I like. Also for building, you can buy pre wrapped til you're more comfortable with the idea of wrapping your own, which is what I'm doing. Just do your math to figure out which ones ya want. I recommend getting a tank that has a deck included, I know I've repeatedly said my love of the fireluke, but I really like it. I just like the idea of tanks vs drippers for convenience, I don't wanna carry a bottle of juice when I leave the house.

idk i feel the whole point of having an RDA or RTA is to build your own coils I think I'd do good my first try making my own coil. I mean I could be wrong because I've never tried it but I also think confidence is like 1/2 of what it takes to build your own and the other 1/2 is skill and knowing what your doing. you dont want to be overconfident though because that's when you get into some shit and get more than you bargained for but if your equipped with the knowledge, know how, and have watched enough tutorials that mixed with confidence and your good to go thats just my opinion.

Everyone learns at their own pace, but I just know that I'm not fully ready to build my own just yet. I will be eventually, but y'know I'm okay taking it slow til then. Until then I'm happy just rewicking pre made.

RTA = Boreas V1

i still haven't found anything better.
It has two separate decks so you can just switch them out if you don't feel like rebuilding them at that particular moment.
I have 5 or 6 of them.

you mean you have 5 or 6 of those tanks? If so they must be a good tank if you decided to get multiple

do you know if the seller gets sold out and then restocks? Im asking because he only has 8 left and i dont really have extra money for a tank right now but i will in the near future and I probably would get one

They have been up for a while.
But since there is a V2 (that many say are not as good) they are probably all that is left.

As long as no one sees it on here and gets any ideas they should be there for a little while.

plus i still have 14 unused coils for my tfv8 baby beast so i kinda want to go through those before i consider building but if I had just invested the 34$ i spent on those coils on an RTA and supplies i could already be building my own but hindsight is 20/20 cant change it now, although i could send 2 of the packages of coils back cause they're unopened o_O

Your best bet would be continuing to use the tank while taking your time and learning how to build.
You don't want to get stuck in a situation where you are forced to build something in order to vape.

yea thats good logic, didn't think of that even, im just looking forward to starting to be self-sustainable and saving money cause those smok coils are costly compared to a 100' roll of wire, an ohm meter, ceramic tweezers, some organic cotton, and something with a preset measurement to wrap your coils around plus half of those things are a one time expense

Yea, it is way cheaper then having to buy a pack of coils every month.

I wish it was every month for me its more like every 3 weeks maybe 4 weeks depending how frequently im puffing the vape

My last tank before I started using RTAs was the Uwell Crown V1
The coils came in 4 packs and if I was lucky they would cost me a little under 12 bucks.

I still use my Kanger Subtanks but I luckily came into 2 cases of coils (10 five packs per case) one case of NI200 for TC and one case of 0.5ohm kanthal for regualar wattage mode

I use the subtanks in low cloud situations (going out to eat, to the mall, shit like that)

yeah in the mall people probably wouldn't mind if you were vaping if you were in like "stealth" mode but go blowing huge clouds thats likely when people start to complain its not like its a vape expo lol which Im considering going to one thats in my state in march if I get the chance

you think this is a good RTA its got 4 posts for a dual coil build you could also have a single coil build if you chose to and seems like its a good deal http://www.3fvape.com/rebuildable-a...ss-steel-35ml-24mm-diameter.html#.Wh6cbkqnHIU

if you bought higher VG it would produce more clouds.
I know you were asking about that earlier.

I usually go with 20/80 PG/VG

Yeah someone in this video I was watching about RDAs was saying that 100%vg makes the best clouds but that's going to most likely degrade the flavor pretty significantly from the 70/30 I normally get or 65/35 I chose from vape wild and the order was placed on Friday so even if I wanted to I couldn't of changed it but I'll consider this for the future

I also found out earlier when I was looking up about this mod that I own the vaporin maverick is rated for .5-3.0 ohms and I've used my baby beast on it with a .25-.16 ohm coil on it quite a few times and right then I figured out why the tank would always get so hot when I would only puff it like 5 times and realized what I was doing was very stupid and fucking dangerous  that right there is a reason why I should not own a mech

Maverick Vaporizer Starter Kit

The industry leading Maverick Vaporizer Starter Kit is made of rechargeable Battery with an 2200 mAh 10A high grade vaporizing power, and the Sub-Ohm tank with adjustable airflow. The new Maverick Sub-Ohm tank is the next generation in tank technology powered by 0.5 OHM Organic Cotton Coil (7-25W). Never settle for less with vaporizer starter kit.

You were really pushing your luck with a 10 amp battery
a 0.25 ohm coil would be drawing 16 amps at 4 volts.
0.16 ohms at 4 volts = 25 amps

Yeah and I did that shit like every other day I'd say for like a 2 month period almost

My 2 primary reasons why all of my atomizers are RDAs:

  • I don't want to sacrifice the better flavor, nor want to sacrifice the bigger clouds, both of which only a decent RDA can provide─for me
  • I never really understood the "convenience" of tanks leaking juice all over the place and throwing away more juice by cleaning out tanks.
As for starter kits, vape pens, cartomizers, clearomizers,... I feel glad I started to steer clear of them before I felt the tendency to maybe start vaping. Does diving into advanced coil building increase the high risk of running into mega frustrations? Yes Sir. Considering all that, is advanced coil building still worth the time spent sulking maniacally over how hard this hobby actually sucks and much to the point of constantly thinking how now brown cow? FUCK YEAH !!!!!

I know you said you wanted an RTA, but for learning purposes, I'd get a RDA first. They're easier to wick and to experiment with. It would suck to throw a build in RTA, fill the tank with juice, and then find out it's not hitting how you'd like, or worse, have a tank full of juice leak all over your mod.

Edit: This is just my opinion. I'm sure you could learn how to build with an RTA. It just might be more frustrating. Plus, I just think everyone should try an RDA at least once. They're awesome!

Kindbright is one of the better clones out there, I'm unsure of this particular one, but being kindbright, I would be willing to take a shot. Also the reload is said to be a great atty.

My first rba was a tank, a simple single coil tank. The biggest problem I Had was getting the wicking down and making sure the built fit. Nowadays all I use are rda and a kayfun 5 for times I don't want to make huge clouds or have a bottle with me. I used to use nothing but tanks but found that I prefer the flavor of rdas. rdas are also alot easier to build and wick than a tank, so much so that I have a hard time justifying a tank.

About 10 years ago I gave up a 20+ years habit of smoking 2-3 cigars a day for vaping and never looked back. At that time there very few options available from devices or flavors. Today there’s an almost endless variety of devices and flavors that can be confusing for a newbie. It takes some time to get accustomed to the different sensation of vaping from smoking. Started to DYI my liquids years ago. Can mix up a 15ml bottle for pennies compared to the $10-15 a “store bought” bottle would cost. Your initial cost to start to move to DYI can be a little high, but in the long run you’ll save money, plus you can experiment with PG/VG mixtures to see what works best. For myself I found that on occasion anything above a 70/30 mixture can cause me some heartburn. There’s numerous sites available with flavor mixtures for just about anything that might suit your palette, plus many clones flavors that can tweak.
I wouldn’t consider going back to smoking, the move to vaping improved my health, don’t smell like smoke and don’t burn holes in my clothes and have no worries about finding someplace to flick the ashes.

My package would have been here if it didn't go to 2 different post offices one being the wrong one from wherd it normally stops at in between Texas and where I'm at in CT but it's not a big deal they'd be sitting a bit steeping but now they're just stepping in a post office warehouse which could be a good environment if it's cold in there. I mainly just want to see if vapewild since this was the 3rd order I placed within a 3 day period gave me more bonus 10ml bottles

It's a clone of the reload RTA but I don't know.
Usually a clone of something that is already inexpensive ends up being total shit.
Maybe someone will see this that has one and have an answer for you.

I'll have to do some research about the tank I know building on an RDA is easier that's why I might just cross out the RTA idea and get an RDA plus I'm pretty sure you can get more vapor from an RDA with the right build

I feel confident that with an RDA I'd habe a pretty easy time building for the 1st time but like I said earlier I could be completely wrong but it just doesn't seem that hard from the videos I've seen on YouTube I'm not sure how easy it would be with an RTA but with enough time and practice it would get easier and easier

I started and only used a RTA so far. It was kind of hard but it was a small deck and was told it would be hard so I knew that. I don’t do crazy builds and buy all my wire but it is really fun to create something.

Not sure what your budget is but what I did was get a good quality clone to see if I liked it. After I built it a couple time ordered the authentic one. Just something to keep in mind. My clone was around $20 but the authentic one was $170. Big price difference.

RDAs authentic ones I'm pretty sure are only 20-30 for a good one in pretty sure I was looking at the serpent by wotofo and really considering buying that one cause if it's the one I'm thinking of the posts were offset diagonally so a dual coil build would be easy just as easy as a inline 4 post RDA I think the only challenge is getting the ohms right everything else is going to be easy
