Am i the only one who seems to think that after charging the 18650 batteries the first 4 or 5 times that the charge hold length seems to grow from the original first charge length you get after opening them? After opening my batteries the first day after the first charge they seemed to only last 3-5 hours but now after charging them 4 or 5 times since monday they seem to last me all day sometimes more of all day use vaping at 50w-75w.

They could break in over time maybe.
I've never noticed because I always stick new ones in before the old ones die totally.

I never paid attention to how long the charge of my 18650 lasts. However, I'm aware, that LiPo packs in my R/C Helis need a "break in" charge/discharge of 5-8 times, in order to give longer flight times. In my R/C forum, it was mentioned, that this behavior is due to chemicals utilized, in order to extend shelf life, and the charge discharge cycles get rid of those chemicals. Actually, my LiPo charger has an option of charging/discharging as many times as you set it to.

So far I don't like vape wild made liquids cause they seem to be 50/50 with how they taste and feel on my throat like they seem too artificially flavored. Idk if that says anything about the devices and accessories though it could, but I'm kind of regretting letting my friend who sold me the ipv3 bamboozle me into buying their liquids lol :gaah:.

I dont think vape wild would sell knock offs but you never know its not like theres an authentication sticker on the batteries, but they seem legit from how they perform.
Maybe they would sell fakes, but they just don't know it themselves yet.

Are batteries manufactured anywhere other than China?
Yes, in fact they are being manufactured in several many different countries like Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Poland, Hungary, the U.S., etc..

doesnt mean cause they're manufactured in china that they're counterfeit a lot of shit in america comes from china like smok tech is based in china but the smok qbox i got is decent but their customer service is shit i messaged them sunday and havent gotten a reply since monday night so i doubt they're going to help me with my device being defective but it was a good mod. i was considering getting the smok TF-RTA but their C.S and from what I've seen the Boreas RTA has got it beat so unless I see something really drastic about the TF-RTA the Boreas will be the one i get especially cause the boreas comes with 2 decks and they're posts that are easy to build on.

Of course it doesn't necessarily mean they're counterfeit. But AFAIK the problem that's causing the consumer to still have to break in, or train the batteries due to the manufacturer's neglecting to already have done that FOR the consumer BEFOREHAND is a problem that's both bad and coming out of China... the reason why it is bad is because the consumer might, during the break-in period, run into manufacturing defects that could in fact be dangerous as well as that could have been detected by the manufacturer instead, and, therefore, could have been easily eliminated by the manufacturer.

As for Smok mods, those things can be really dangerous even when they're not fakes. That's because some of them have repeatedly been reported to suddenly jump to max power without them giving the user any kind of warning sign via the front display on the mod in question so that, if the mod starts auto firing after that, it will be draining each battery continuously at more than 25 amps. It means that even if you're using genuine 20 amp batteries in those things, chances will be you'll still be China'd... regardless.

never happened to me with the smok qbox the autofire without the button being pushed in and when it did its cause the button got pushed and was sticking because of some crap on the sides of the button so just clicked it a few times real fast and it solved the problem and even if it did the battery was built in so it was rated for any wattage the mod was capable of operating on also it had a max fire timing of 12 seconds and wouldnt fire again even after the 12 seconds unless you let the button go after pushing it in so it had that safety feature so it couldnt just blow up in your pocket or where ever it was when it may have happened

I was referring to the GX350. With four 20 amp batteries being continuously drained after that one jumped to max power, you can expect accidents to happen because the battery safety general rule of thumb for any and all regulated mods is also taking into account the fact that the puff cut-off timer (12 seconds in the Q-Box) can still fail regardless of whether it never happened to you. This same rule of thumb states that you first have to be sure about the wattage you'll be vaping at or else you shouldn't replace the mod's max wattage in the equation with it. But seeing as it jumps to max power there is no way to be sure about that so the GX350 with genuine 20 amp batteries is still hazardous regardless of whether you did follow the widely accepted general rule of thumb.

That being said, what makes a trusted battery vendor trusted is what they'll do once they find out they've been selling fakes. So, for me, what makes a trusted regulated mod manufacturer trusted is what they'll do once they find out they've manufactured a hazardous mod, and, for me, it means that Smok are untrusted because right now it just looks to me like they have simply been covering it all up like nothing happened as that's pretty much exactly what all the evidence looks like. Meanwhile, non-surprisingly the Smok shills have been badmouthing Wismec like no tomorrow, and have been badmouthing me as well for the fact I tried to uncover it. See where I'm getting at?

Yesh you can't be sure that the safety mechanisms will always do their job because shit happens and you can't trust that the seller won't sell counterfeit or defective devices because they themselves might not know they are

How has your juice consumption been? I have a theory - your voltage varies between 50-75 watts, that can make a difference in battery life

And if you arent liking the juice as much, maybe you are actually vaping less than a few days ago

i tend to have my wattage set to 60-70 cause my coils best perfomance range is 60-80 and i go through a tank in about an hour give or take if its a flavor i really like if its something i just got and dont like it can take up to 3 hours and after the first its like christ why did i put so much and if i really dont like it and cant stand it back in the bottle it goes

That's exactly my point. You don't know something until you know it... I try to avoid unnecessary risks by first staying as properly informed as I possibly can... all my 18650 batteries are VTC5A from Sony in Japan and purchased from a trusted vendor because Lithium rechargeable batteries are dangerous enough even without the added bullshit like batteries that haven't been broken in by the manufacturer.

it was the 2nd day that i noticed it maybe I thought the battery life lasted longer buit might not have in reality cause the day i got the batteries i was drinking with my friend and I only had the battery charged up to like 3/4 when i took it off and i was passing it back and forth with him so it was basically vaping for 2 and we were kind of chain vaping so the battery only lasted 2/3 as long as it normally would so that could have been it

Yes if the battery was drinking with you and your friend that certainly would clear up a few things. :D

lol we were just talking about something like this the other day safety mechanisms failing in a mod and i stumbled upon a thread someone posted on reddit describing this exact situation

https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic...wq9/i_think_my_batteries_nearly_explodedon_a/
In that same discussion, Mooch pointed out that the problem was probably not caused by the mod:
https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic...ink_my_batteries_nearly_explodedon_a/d8lgvft/
Also note the fact those batteries were bought from an unknown source through Amazon so to me that already confirms that the most probable cause was user error.

yeah most likely since they took down the batteries from amazon cause i clicked it and it said that theyre not longer being sold or something like that
