I get the same thing with my Serpent mini. Seems to not be an issue.

bubbles are bad. They indicate air in the wick, which causes "popping".

You have to have bubbles or your wick would go dry. Use up juice at the coil it leaves a void then air and then bubbles must surface. One or two large bubbles are better, but a bunch of little ones can work also. CHEERS!

I get air in my wicks every time I open the bag of Cotton Bacon. Bag puffs out and have a hard time resealing it. :) :)

I have had builds bubble every time I took a puff and others where I almost never saw a bubble all with the same RTA. Like everyone says as long as flavor is there and there is no dry hits then you are good to go. If you are worried you can flip over the tank and see if any bubbles come out. If I get a dry hit I always flip over the tank and also make sure my fill to is not to tightly screwed on.

What I was referring to, is air inside the wick getting pulled into the coil, which causes popping as the air expands.
Contrary to what SOME have posted, coils do not draw juice from the top down, they draw juice from the ends of the wick UP. and juice is drawn to the lower pressure area of the drying wick. (just like a candle)
You see air bubbles in the tank as ejuice draws up into the wick forcing air out usually only after the coil has been sitting and has dried out a bit.
This is also why you don't see wax on top of candles below the flame "boiling". The flame burns the wax, dries the wick which draws more wax. You can test this with a strip of paper towel and dip one end into liquid. It quickly draws up the strip, even to parts of the strip that are not toughing the liquid.
Another cause of popping is an over saturated coil, like when you prime to much.

You can have bubbles and no popping
as long as the bubbles are not inside the coil. Once they get in there, they are like an egg in a microwave.. POP! lol. (ok more like a balloon.. air heats, expands, and pops)

I never get popping and almost always have bubbles. Almost everyone that I know or have seen on reviews use the presence of bubbles to judge whether the cotton is wicking or not.
Actually, a properly wicked and primed coil will not produce any bubbles and will wick perfectly. Premade factory coil heads are a bit different. They will produce bubbles if not correctly and fully primed as the juice forces the air out. But as i said, if the wick is properly primed, there is no air IN the wick to be forced out.. hence.. no bubbles.

He is not dealing with pre-made coils. He is building the RBA on the TFV8

I was noting premade were an exception since you can't actually see how well your coil is primed. Basically if he is only getting small bubbles or no bubbles, that tells me he is priming his coils pretty much perfectly.

But dont you need air coming in to displace the juice leaving? If it doesent it would create a vacuum would it not? Theres no where else for the air to get in other than through the cotton

Unless your talking about jist after its first filled and not used at all

If I may jump in here with you guys but from my own experience with the rba section when I got a lot of popping it was from my build like a zipper coil or just any twisted coil and with the bubbles its from how tightly you stuffed the cotton in the juice wells and how you cut them I thought the 45 degree angle cut was stupid buuuut imo its the best..hope I helped a little bit the tfv8 was my first builder for a while till the grub screws went round so be careful good luck!

Yeah those grub sceews are crap was one of the main issues with it couldnt tighten them enough without stripping ordered 50 online for 6$ and got a better allen wrench a actual hardened steel one now the crap stainless one that came with. Was more the wrench rounding than the screws. Now i got better screws and wrench. Made a huge difference

I had to throw in the towel on it lol and just get a new atty...it made my ohms jump around hot legs on my coils all that fun stuff but tfv8s are an acquired taste some love them some hate them..

Yeah mine did all that to till i got the new screws and made sure the positive post was sitting properly and everything was nice and tight in place. Now she works great dont leak good flavor running a 38 gauge juggernaut coil 6 wraps great flavor no leakage. Was not beong able to get those grub screws right tight was the main thing.

And the juice holes arent huge so i find a bit higher ohn run a .4 ohm at 100 watts. Great flavor and wicks decently quick between puffs

Hmmm...might have to revisit the good ole tfv8..I can rebuild her..make her stronger..better:idea:
Yeah its not bad i find the 38 gauge juggernaut is quite similar to the original coils that it came with which i seem is the best. 6 wrap in using right now gunna try 5 and then 7 some time. Slightly spaced coil not right tight. And minimal cotton just enoigh it dont leak im using cotton bacon. Seens decent to me. Good flavor decent cloud. And off ebay there was a company that had free shipping 25 screws for 3 something. Delevired in under a week i got them. M2.5 x 3 screws is what they are theb just get a rewl allen key

Yeah this site is decent just recently joined aswell its not the absolute best coil the turbo rba but its decent once dialed. I like the tank its not bad sturdy easy to use. And the premade coils and nice the v8 t8 is nice. Poke holes with a pin in the juice ports and yum great flavor and fat clouds

I think I spoiled myself to much for rebuilt now lol I don't get the satisfaction I have a baby beast with a .15 in it (just wanted the mod but I bought the kit) and it doesn't tickle my fancy like it used to

Ah yeah. I got the tfv8 cloud beast not using the baby beast no more

But I have a few tf's the tfv4,8,baby beast only one I can't build on is the baby beast but I heard they have a kit to make it buildable

I used to get spit back with any build in my serpent mini. Lower ohms equals more popping because it heats up faster, but even up to 0.7ohm still often usual pops... but today i used a 6 wrap tripple twisted 28 gauge on 2.5mm(0.46ohm), but here is the kicker! I spaced the coil whereas before i only used contact. It is on a smpl mech mod with sony vtc6 18650. Also, i installed my wick like this reddit post for the griffin:

https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/4t2jhm/how_to_wick_the_griffin/

This wicking method coupled with spacing my coil allows me to pull on the serpent mini at a constant rate where i have not gotten any popping or spitback AT ALL!

I used to cut the top of the "bowtie" of my wick, the reverse of this, and it produced spitback. The griffin method in the link makes more sense that no liquid will sit and pool or build up on the coil.
