Just a quick question - built a dual coil on magma clone - once I finished the build it read 1.2

Then I added the cotton it changed to 1.9

That's just me moving the coil a little bit right?

28g - 10 wraps, jap cotton

For it to change that much it's more than just moving the coil a little. Re-snug the coil screws and check that the 510 screw is tight.

sounds like one of your posts is loose or you need to tighten the screws holding your coils

Possibly, ya jammed too much cotton in there and it warped the coils or such?
it should move easily in there yet have full contact with the coils. Wicking will swell when wet too.

I doubt that would change it 0.7 though unless you really moved things.

Are you using a mod or tabletop meter to check resistance? If it's a Multimeter, the leads can get funky and really change readings if they got dirty or loose.

A pic would help. :)

After stripping the post threads, or cutting the wire re-tightening down the screws after my ohms changed
I now remove the cotton and install the RDA back on the ohm meter..watching the reading I touch each leg of the coils lightly with a small screw driver and if the reading changes I've found my loose screw and re-tighten it without fear of it stripping.. I hated tightening screws that were already tight in search of correcting the ohms back to the original build reading...I ruined several Atties that way until I started putting it back on the ohm meter for testing first, however I've never had my ohms change by simply adding cotton wicks, they change because of the screws backing out....And I think that was due to heating up and cooling down over time maybe..
