Welcome to VU.
Are you positive the coil is not a .5 or .6Ω coil?

Then something is probably up with mod. That is a good bit of difference. Will let someone more knowledgeable tell if it is a serious problem or not. Since it is a regulated mod maybe okay to use. Wouldn't put it in bypass mode.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with your mod. Do you have a manual for the mod? Did you look on the side of the coil? Resistance is stamped on it. Should be able to read it without taking it out.

Did you have the .5 in before? I would turn on the mod with the tank off then put the tank on. Mod might ask if it is a new coil. Not sure about it but my alien will not know to reset the ohms on the new coil until I do this. Maybe the mod did not know you put the new coil on.

Bad coil? Try a different one. Make sure the 510 is making good connections. Make sure head is tight in base. Make sure insulators are good.

Just needed to reset the mod by taking the tank off and telling the mod its a new coil.

Big clouds are tricky on a factor made coil. However, within limits you can get some decent clouds. Open your airflow up full, and increase the wattage. Use a good fast inhale to maximize airflow and cool the coil before it cooks the cotton.
Remember, factory made coils have limitations. Unlike building your own, where you can determine how much air and power your coil will handle.
Also remember.. bigger cloud = less flavor as you need more air to cool the coils.
