Digiflavor Pharaoh RTA by RiP Trippers major leak...

So I got my first RTA, Pharaoh by RiP the Trip....put a nice fat staggered fused clap on
it, wick it well so the 2 juice slots are tightly covered, and fill it up with blueberry doughnut.
Was getting a very nice vape, tons of clouds and great flavor.
But, something was telling me this sucker is going to leak...!!!

Sure enough, this morning I see my GEN3 MOD in a little pool of juice on my desk...

The juice had gone down the front, where the buttons are, and into the battery door.
After cleaning up, the MOD is still working, but lets see what happens in a few days as
the juice dries and gets like glue!!!!

So if you have this RTA, or thinking of getting one, remember to close the bottom air
vents and the juice slots, and remove it from your MOD... LOL

If you still experience leaks after user error has been corrected, try contacting Digiflavor (assuming it's new & authentic). I recently had a leak problem with my brand new Kylin, and Vandy Vape has sent a replacement. (I haven't received it yet, but I hope the issue won't recur). I know it's a different company, but a good company will stand behind it's products. No reason why you should have to hack a new atty.

RTA'S like this one need to be wicked properly or they leak. also opening & closing juice slots over time can make it leak too. My Kylin does it sometimes too.
I hope you sort it cos the Pharaoh is one of my favourites! Make sure you are wicking correctly, sounds easy but so many people make the mistake who have been rebuilding for years!

Yes, I know, the wicking is very important.. I took special care with it, making sure there was plenty of cotton to
cover those slots cuz i figured, that's were it's going to leak. I also checked all the o-rings.. I have about 2cc
of juice in it now.. i am keeping an eye on it....

Well, to be honest, just about all RDA/RTA's leak at some point, no matter how careful u are...on most bottom
air flow RDA's once u get your build in there, u cant see the air holes, which are like raised little pipes... so it's
easy to over drip.. Reason I love my Sherman is that there is a ton of space in there and the 2 posts are far
appart, so it's very easy to see the bottom of the well and the 2 air vent pipes...

Just don't shove it in the air slots, put it in there snug. I wicked 7 times till I got my pharaoh to stop leaking. Very good first RTA though!

Yep, thats what i did.. at least I thought it was in there tight... I could see those slots need a lot of cotton behind them.
But it was my first time wicking this guy, so will try again... I can put like 2ml liquid in w/o any leaking, no more then that...

Just needs to be snug, if you put it in tight leaks. As for the amount it does need quite a bit. I find my pharaoh, kylin & ammit need more than say my Kayfun.
PM me if you get stuck. I've mastered my RTA'S down to a tea & the most recent RTA'S compete with RDA'S. I don't use drippers now because of this. With the dual decks recently I find no need to use .y drippers. What annoys me with RDA'S is over dripping an bad leaks. I'm not patient enough to drip every two minutes!

Are you talking about the Mini RTA or the previous version?
Because I'm having the same issues: after a day or couple of days, it starts leaking onto the mod.
I've wicked it so many times and following so many methods, still leaks. On the first weeks had no problem, but after a while, leaks every day or so. Changed the o-rings, cleaned it, did everything and more, and still leaks.

Any tips?

Why do all RTA'S fucking leak. It's a reoccurring problem I've had where I find liquid all over my 510 and I'm not new too building. It happens with all tanks that have bottom airflow.
One of my rta's has fucking cardboard round the 510 pin to soak up liquid!!!

Still, it shouldn't happen. The mini reviewed as anti-leak (no such thing tho). But I've heard of people using it with no problems. So any tips (besides the usual and already discussed) would help!

Bad news- replacement deck leaks as bad or worse than the original one. I have again contacted VV and seems like I'm getting a runaround.
As long as one has wicked and re-wicked and made all accommodations, one shouldn't have significant leaks. Sorry, but an atty that leaks profusely is a manufacturer's defect. I think some manufacturer's are trying to push out as many devices as they can and skimping on QC. I am done buying cheap shit from greedy manufacturers. I think most people would gladly pay 20% more for an atty that performs, rather than wasting $30 on a piece of crap you can't use.

I've had problems with my kylin too but I got a berserker by vandy vape that hasn't leaked one drop.
It's an MTL tank though.

The ammit seems to be better than the kylin and is more or less the same!

Do you know where the Kylin leak is coming from. My first deck was leaking from the press fit on the bottom and they sent me a replacement deck. I haven't had the leaking issue with the replacement deck.

Funny, i deliberated a long time between the Kylin & Ammit and it looks like I chose wrong.
Even though it's not actually flooding to the point where I get a mouthful, I know e-liquid is infiltrating the Kylin air chamber bc I got a sore throat when I was using it.
I have more than a dozen RTA's/RDA's/RTDA's, some are Fasttech $8 clones, and NONE leak this bad.

It seems to leak from the 510 pin, but also starts to leak from the AFC after a short use.
I have gotten a replacement deck, but it still leaks. Still waiting for a reply on replacing the second deck. Going on since early October.....

I know it's a great vape but the leaking is not forgivable! I've been building a while so it's not my wicking!

Probably leaking like my first one did. Stay on them and they will make it right. I had an issue with the first CS rep that I went through but got an email from the CS director apologizing for his ex-CS rep and sent the replacement deck out that day. It did restore some faith in VV and I have had no leaking issues so far. I gave two Ammit 25's and two SMM's and they don't leak. I use the Ammit more because it holds more liquid but the SMM has equal or better flavor. Hope you get your issue fixed.

I'm almost ready to give up on VandyVape- still waiting for answer. Last email they wanted me to send a pic of my build, as if I haven't endeavored to build and wick this thing sixteen ways already. I told them hey guess what, the build has long been dismantled & the unit sparkling clean, except for the dust which seems to be collecting on it.
Crickets.....
Vandy Vape KNOWS this leaking is an issue, a customer ought not have to prove the claim. It's only a $30 atty (which explains the lousy deck screws), but that's not the point. They need to own it and make it right, no questions asked, IMO. The delay may be holiday busy-ness but the longer it takes, the less inclined I am to buy from them again (and the MORE inclined I am to let everyone know it).

IS it a great vape? Not getting that AT ALL.
For me the flavour is good. Just a tip for you. I've been storing mine upside down and not a drop from the 510.
I also noticed there wasn't a proper seal in the 510 and put an o ring around it.
The leaking is down to wicking too, it took me more than one time to wick properly.
RTA'S need different amounts of cotton and this one dry hits if you don't leave a gap for liquid to get to the cotton.
It's actually one of my favourite tanks.
If you want a decent RTA check out the reload if you have enough money or the ijoy exo if your on a budget.
I was late to the party with the engine nano but that's another good RTA.
Advken Manta is also good but if you don't wick correctly it leaks like a bitch.
If you need any advice just PM me :)

As a last resort, I plan to pick up some small o-rings if I can locate any small enough to seal the 510. I tried some teflon tape, but was unable to wrap it properly around those itty bitty screw threads.
Even if I can render it functional, I totally resent having to hack a unit just to get it usable.
I think I must've gotten wicking right after numerous instructional videos and a small plantation's worth of cotton but it's hard to tell whilst all my favorite e-juice is streaming down my hands & inside the mod.
Thanks for the suggestions- I already have an Engine Nano which is fussy to reassemble (not-so-great threads) but NEVER leaks. The best one I have is an iJoy Combo, which delivers decent flavor and is a breeze to build on. It leaks at the base a tiny bit right now, but that's bc it is overdue for a change of O-rings (lazy owner).
I am tempted to pick up a Reload but yeah, a little pricey. I am leaning towards the GTA/RDTA styled atties- I like the tank below the deck bc you can potentially get RDA flavor with tank convenience. In truth, I have enough of these things already. This habit is worse than smoking!

Not tried the ijoy combo, I need to try it out as heard good things.
Good luck with your kylin but your right you shouldn't have to meddle so much with an RTA

Make sure the deck is tightly screwed into the base. It's an interchangeable build deck and if you don't know to really screw it down to the deck then it leaks. Adjusting the juice flow on this thank also can cause leaks because it loosens the glass. It's a very finicky RTA.

I always found juice flow control to be a major flaw with RTA'S cos turning it all the time causes leaks. Even if it doesn't happen straight away it is inevitable

Assuming you are referring to the iJoy Combo when mentioning interchangeable decks? This atty has no JFC.
The Kylin JFC is a bitch, wonky to adjust.
As to the Engine, no JFC but one has to close the AFC and fill slowly and carefully or juice seems to infiltrate the air chamber.
Both of these have side fill ports which I don't care for. Sill searching for the perfect atty, LOL.
I am squonking a Dead Rabbit right now- a decent vape and an easy build.

I just got the Pharaoh RTA as my first buildable. I was reluctant to go away from buying premade coils but I heard so many good things about better flavor and so on that I decided to try one. The damn thing leaks like a sieve! I've tried everything I can think of to correct it but it still leaks; but because I'm brand new to building I have limited knowledge of what to do with it. I've contacted Digiflavor but haven't heard back yet. If I can't get it resolved I'm just going to go back to my Prince and the TFV12 coils.

I shelved both my Pharaoh and Kylin due to leaking issues. I assume not all of them leak, I was hearing good things about both, hence me purchasing them. I suppose it’s just the crap shoot of buying mass produced products lol.

It really burns my backside because I'm not made of money and can't afford to buy something and not be able to use it. As I said, I contacted Digiflavor (I've heard their customer service is good) so we'll see what happens.
