Not necessarily in general, however certainly with this particular coil head.
You may have a tough time with the height of the wicking channel being shorter in the single coil heads. It's not impossible however. Alternatively, you could make a parallel build, which would achieve the resistance and likely the performance of a dual coil build. I've done a few personally with 30 gauge on a single coil PT2 head with success

Nice Video very good video tutorial thanks for sharing.
