A word on RDTAS

I cannot stand to see tails of cotton inside the tanks. This is not proper wicking. These rdtas are meant to wick by the natural use of your vape. I chain vape and have never had a dry hit problem if I do this technique..

1.) Cut just a hair longer than if the atty was a regular old rda.

2.) ONLY PLUG THE WICK HOLE / WICK CHANNEL.

3.) Make an air hole. This is very important and insures and solidifies how well your rdta is going to wick. Your tank has to get a good amount of air in order to Pace up the wicking. You want about a nail hole size on the out side of the wicking hole.

Here's how I do it •°refer to picture°•

The picture with just the coils and wick are too show that in a matter of seconds after poking your air holes that it's starting to quick very evenly.

NO MORE soggy tails!!!!!

It's very inefficient to wick with tails in tank. Your going to get more juice in your tank and your going to use all the juice.

When your tails are in tank you will always have excess juice that oxidizes and eventually tastes like shit!

I gave up on the tilt and vape with Stardust Clearos.
.
I tried a serpent RDTA. Vaped nice but too much trouble.
tilting to get to wick, more trouble to clean, etc...

Will just squonk, have a much bitter juice tank:)

Yea, I bought a movkin and couldn't find a place with the adapter so I up. I don't do single battery mods no matter what.

I love RDTAs very much. I like drippers don't get me wrong, that's my main vape, but when im out and about filling up by avacado is just easy as shit and such great flavor.

I need to get another rdta. Maybe after Xmas.

That works, but I bet that yes it was more trouble but the serpent is solid. It was probably over wicking that cause it to be more trouble. I'll admit squonking is alot more simple. How have you been Cromwell? I appreciate your posts they have helped me in the past

Doing well.
Can complain but no one would listen.

On RDTA.
The tipping for the short wicks, the more trouble long wicks, the more trouble to clean.
Just not worth it to me.
The Serpent RDTA is a nice vape though.

Lol yea. I'm going through a break up. It sucks but I ain't going to let that lead into a relapse. Been trying to get a job to no avail. I decided to volunteer my time at the soup kitchen down town. I utilized those places when I was in active addiction and homeless. Xmas Eve, day, New year's Eve, day. I have come way to far to go back. I have been going to extra meetings and attending group every day mon-friday because I know that the holidays are a hard time. I'm not going to give up. Last year I was holding a homeless sign of sr75 starving, dope sick, cold and alone. I've got alot to be thankful for.

I have my Avacado wicking down to a science. Just enough to push in the holes works for me. The only time it needs to tilt is when I put it to my mouth. I always use bacon wicks in mine. The difference it made in my Avacado was eye opening. Way better flavor from the first rip.

Exactly. That is the best way to wick. All other methods suck plain and simple. I wish reviewers would stop telling people to have tails sit in the tank. That is dumb. Good job bro

This is all the wick you need. JUST barely enough below the tank line to keep ejuice from running up inside the atomizer but still enough to get wet while you vape. Plus if you do change ejuice you aren't wasting half a bottle thats trapped in overly long wick tails.

The reviewers I listen to don't tell you to use long wicks. Sounds like you need to hang out with a better educated gang of reviewers. ;)

Agreed mate, well said.

Longer wicks actually cause dry hits because the juice has to travel further.

Lol, there random reviewers, people I've come in contact with, and seeing countless pictures showing this wick technique that is incorrect. You make it sound like your ears and eyes intelligently filter out false or incorrect vape methods. Like your so amazing in every aspect of vaping that you wouldn't so much as STUMBLE upon a photo on Google showing this method.

People need to stop belittling people. Maybe you have stumbled on it, who knows but I do lots of research. I've seen this alot. My buddies at AA do this shit.

"My reviewers are l337" "I only get top notch information" "my ears and eyes are incapable of seeing less than perfect reviews when I am on YouTube"

loooooool

Get real, stop belittling. Why did you have to say and or insinuate that your better. Does that make you feel better about yourself? Your saying you have never seen a less than a+ review by all the random reviewers? Come on dude I will read or view countless reviews and yes, you have to Wade through the bullshit sometimes to find good info.

You hang out with Grimm Green, the doode himself, damn dude, I wish I could get a good pair of reviewers to hang out with. How do I go about getting better quality of reviewers to hang out with. And furthermore, where do I go to find them.

Another question. Should there be an incentive offered so it will make it more likely I get better quality reviewers to hang out with??

I just need this man. Please help me. How do I go about doing so? Please hurry and let me know

Stop being a penis face.

I'm getting really fucking sick of people thinkt there there the best, they know best, and all the know it alls. Flat out you can always learn more. There is always going to be someone who knows more than you. Also, every reviewer, shitty or not has some kind of info. There is a load of misinformation that if you filter and cross examine you can still learn things from.

Sorry for going off, it's just really fucking annoying to keep repeatedly seeing this elitist fuck wad attitude. It won't be tolerated in my threads.

If all you can say is "might want to find better reviewers to hang out with", don't comment. What the fuck is that doing to help anything. That's laziness. Give examples like "check out these" and link some real information.

This thread had nothing to do with quality of reviewers. It's a fact that allot of people that use rdtas keep there tails dropped down and submerged. Look so google, RDTA pops up, RDTA wicking, and tons of people wick that way. That's all I was trying to say.

I've seen a couple of those "use long wicks" videos. Tried it, didnt like it. All it did was wasted ejuice. You only need enough wick to get wet and draw juice and plug the holes so your juice doesnt back up into your atty chamber. 1/4 inch should be lots.

I started off " long wicking " until one night i thought about it and came to the conclusion i didn't need to.
No you-tubers involved, just my thoughts and the wait until my tank was empty to trim them up.
Have fun kids and be safe.

Yeah man same here. Long wicks, short wicks, either way! None of them are wrong, some of the most experienced reviewers/vapers prefer long wicks in their RDTAs and that's fine. I personally prefer the short wicks like the original poster mentioned simply because I feel it has a shorter distance to travel through the cotton to the coils. Have a good one!

except for the fact that long wicks waste a bunch of juice and cotton, since they don't perform any better than the shorter ones.

Actually, they both have the same distance to travel. But the long wicks block efficiency.

and waste a ton of juice that you can never get totally out of the wick ends. Eventually those wicks have to be changed and the coil dry burned. So I prefer to have as little juice left in the wick as possible. I'm frugal. That's fancy talk for "cheap". lol. But technically, of course both long and short wicks do the same thing, short just does it better.

I have also seen RDAs wicked through the coil, and rather than trimming the excess, the video maker just tucked the ends down into the juice well, basically making a bed of cotton. I've seen Rip Trippers do the same thing. Now, I go through anywhere from a pouch of cotton bacon every 2 to 4 weeks. Most here will be like OMG! A pouch lasts me a year! LOL... I wick a lot of coils in the pursuit of that elusive perfect build. I have never found an RDA that needed that much wick.

As I started I tried the short wick, but I didn't learn how to fluff it out correctly, to that time I got dry hits over dry hits. I then tried keeping my tails longer, not all the way down tho, and I was using single coil and plugging the other side with that little silicon sleeve. I had enough space in my tank, but my RDTA would be empty after 4-5 hits anyways, regardless if long or short tails. Yes it was and still is a piece of .... Lol.

After I learned a bit more and figured how to do it etc, I only used short or a tiny bit longer, depending if i paid attention that day. I'm not so much into rdtas anymore, but whatever someone wants to do, or even depending on the model, neither is right or wrong. Efficient is also subjective, different people different opinions.

Love my clone Pyro RDTA. My wick tails stop at the holes, can't even see cotton in the tank. I think it was designed to be wicked this way, there's a little ledge in the juice ports that was telling me "rest the cotton here"

I totally agree. If someone finds it better to wick with tails in tank if it works great. All I'm trying to say is it never has for me. And when it did the taste was horrendous after the 2nd day.

Maybe it depends on your vaping style.

If you want to take one puff every 10 minutes, leaving your mod on a table between puffs, long wicks work.

If you want 5 or 6 or 10 puffs in a row, short wicks and letting gravity help wicking is the way to go. This is more how I vape, because clouds bro clouds...even though today I'm more flavor bro flavor with a 510 tip squished into the 810 tip on my Pyro heh
