which tanks for eleaf istick basic and other spin-off questions

many questions. okay, so, i'm a newbie, started vaping two weeks ago and went from grocery store cigalike to the ego aio basic to the eleaf istick basic to the smok alien during that time. LOL! right now, i'm loving my eleaf. love it, love it, love it. it fits and feels in my hand perfectly and i love the drip tip. the only problem is that i like the vapor and nicotine hit from the ego aio much better. but i love the feel of the eleaf in my hand and the drip tip so much that i want to keep the eleaf as my primary vape. i noticed that the coil in the eleaf is 0.75 ohm whereas the one in the ego aio is 0.6 ohm.

so, i thought that maybe i would prefer a 0.6 ohm but couldn't find any for the eleaf. what i have found are coils that are 0.15, 0.75, 1.2 and 1.5. i am looking for MTL so, obviously, i figured i'd need 1.2 or 1.5 but, since i prefer the 0.6 (in the ego aio) over the 0.75 (in the eleaf), i thought that i should forget the higher ohm coils even though i haven't vaped from coils higher than the eleaf 0.75.

i got the smok alien as an experiment to see if the vapor from the baby beast tank and the lower ohms would give me an even more satisfying MTL experience even thought i read everywhere that you can't MTL with subohms. i've tried it and the vapor is too warm for my tastes and the throat hit is too harsh (12mg nic, yeah, i know, lol). i replaced the drip tip with the eleaf drip tip because i couldn't MTL with the wide drip tip that comes with the baby beast tank.

so, back to the eleaf. i then figured that maybe i should get another tank for the eleaf besides the GS Air 2 that it comes with. after all, it comes with an adapter so there must be another tank out there that handles 0.6 ohm coils or something different that might give me a better MTL vape. but i can't find any.

so now i've purchased some 0.6 ohm coils for the baby beast tank to see if that will work. currently, my baby beast has a 0.4 ohm coil and it is designed for 40 - 80 watts. i found the 40 too warm and dialed it down to 30. still warmish but i can deal with it for now. but it's still not as satisfying as my ego aio or eleaf and doesnt' produce as much vapor, it seems to me.

anyway, my questions:

1. what tanks can i use for my eleaf besides the GS Air 2?

2. would i really enjoy a more satisfying MTL vape with higher ohms (1.2 or 1.5) if i am finding that i prefer the 0.6 ego aio coil to the eleaf 0.75 coil.?

3. if i use 0.6 coils in my baby beast, will this be equivalent to using 0.6 ohm coils in my ego aio?

4. is it safe to set the watts for my baby beast coil, or any other coil, below it's recommended range?

5. why does it seem like i produce more vapor using my 0.75 eleaf than the 0.4 baby beast?

thanks.

Try this.. baby beast on the eleaf. 25w, close your airflow to almost full close, small drip tip. If it is still to warm, drop wattage to 20W. You can adjust the watts pretty easily. BB I would say 6mg nic. Yes, its safe to go below recommended range, that is only a suggestion. I wouldn't play to much with going over the recommended though..

5. why does it seem like i produce more vapor using my 0.75 eleaf than the 0.4 baby beast?
Its all in your settings.. power, airflow, mainly.

Failing that.. the first tank I used for M2L was a Kanger toptank mini. It comes with 2 premade factory coils and an RBA mini with 2 replaceable coils. (and I think a bit of cotton) which gives you the option of using factory coils or buying a spool of wire and making your own coils.

okay, that helps. although i wouldn't be able to use the baby beast on the eleaf because it is the istick basic. it's not the istick that you screw a tank on, like the istick pico, for example.

so i will drop the wattage and nic levels, as you suggest, and i will continue to play around with other parameters. i'll also look into the kanger. stay tuned!

1. You can use any tank that screws on the mod....

2. Make your own coils.. using Steam-engine.org and different grades sizes or combinations of wire .... ypu can make just about any ohm vaoe at almost any wattage... there are limits due to physical space and mod power output. But in theory no limits.

3. Probably not.. see above.

4. Vape whatever wattage is comfortable ... those number are for reference only.

5. Coil temperature.... and surface area.. see number 2.

Umm the Istick basic is a put a 14 mm tank down in a hole thing.
Tanks does not screww on the top of the mod. And there is a magnetic adapter for the GS Air tank.

You can use a Protank mini in the Istick basic with the ego magnetic adapter.

However the GS air tank is better with the 1.2 coil than the Protank mini is.

I have 2 I stick basics. Well 1 now piffed on to a daughter in law to try and get her off of cigs.

Great little setups. I personally liked the .75 coil best but the 1.2 is tighter draw.

The 0.6 ohm Baby Beast coil is one of the Q2's, with pretty wide open airflow. Not great if switching from tobacco to vape.

You might try the X4 coil, which is restrictive direct lung, not very power hungry, fine with the Alien. I always enjoyed sub ohm with a tighter airflow.

There is a lot of talk about how the experience changes with different resistance, ohms. But there are too many other variables to generalize, with how the coil is built, even with factory coils.

Yes, that's it! that's what i was looking for. i couldn't find any 14mm tanks but i knew there had to be some out there because the kit came with an adapter. So, I guess i can try the Protank even if you think the GS Air is better. it's only a couple of bucks. maybe i will like it.
i'll have to try the higher ohms to see if i like them. i've only been using the subohms because that's what all my kits have come with.

thanks for all the answers. i guess it really does come down to playing around with different variables until you hit your own sweet spot. i kinda knew this already from doing my own readings but i still felt like i was missing something. but now that i've had my questions answered i feel more prepared.
one thing i noticed yesterday is that i was being pretty delicate with my istick basic. all this time i was sucking on it so lightly like i was going to break it. but then yesterday i took in some really deep draws and it made all the difference in the world. i was doing a combined MTL-DTL kind of draw, where the excess that i couldn't pull into my mouth i would lightly vent straight to my lungs. it was great. nice hit, nice clouds. uh-oh, does this mean i'm turning into a DTL vaper? Is that how it begins? lol

It is the protank mini. the standard Protank is larger diameter as I recall.
