Issues with quad baby beast coils

So...
This is strange, I've been using the smok baby beast for... Maybe a little less than a year. At first it was great, I found a tank that gave me the dense clouds I wanted and the right throat hit. When I first started using this tank, a coil would last me about... 1.5 weeks. Maybe 2 weeks. As of late (past 3 months about) I've been literally burning out a coil a day. IN ONE DAY! MAYBE 2... If I'm lucky. I prime the same. I vape the the same. I dont know what's going on and it's really starting to piss me off. I thought it was the mod I had the Asmodus Minikin V2. Because it was firing all strange and someone broke it, all the plastic housing to hold the batteries in place was literally just crumbling out. So I thought ok I'll just get a new mod. So then I ended up with the Sigelei Fuchai Glo. And... I'm still torching my coils. I only vape at about.. 44 watts. I want to go higher, I know they are like what?... 60 to 90 watts for optimum hits... But if I try that, my coil burns out even faster.
Now with all that being said, I vape hard. I always vape like I'm in a cloud comp. Idk why but I'm constantly taking big hard deep rips is how I do it. It's how I like it. I will keep hitting it like that for anywhere from 5 to 10 mins straight. Just one after another after another. I'll go through a whole tank in under 5 mins sometimes. Idk I vape like a maniac. I can't help it. I've had people tell me I need higher nicotine, I currently use 3mg. I believe my juice is 70/30. To be honest it's not the nicotine I'm after. It's the clouds and the throat hits.
Basically I just wanted to know if anyone knew what's going on with my tank and coils. Or what would be a good tank for the way I vape. I'm not going to do rebuildables... I'm too lazy for that. I need a tank that can handle me, my mouth and my suction. It's getting extremely annoying and expensive to put a new coil in literally every freaking day. Help!!! Please!!!!! I need some help from some pros man...

So I’ll admit,

I didn’t read all of that.

But where did you buy your coils from? I feel like smok is one of the number one brands that people make fakes of. I myself had a set of fake smok coils for my baby beast. They burned out quickly OR they would leak the juice right out of the bottom.

I buy them from a vape shop. I know I typed a lot I just wanted to give as much detail as I could so someone can give me a answer that will work...
But yeah I never stopped to think a shop could be selling bunk coils.. you think? A shop? I would imagine that some weird online company would.. I never suspected my shop...

I say this right from the start, I do hate smok - the mods, tanks and coils with such a passion, it would be worth getting sentenced to life in prison. With that said, not that the coils were any better in the past, but lately lots of people reporting even more issues with them, as well as with recent price range changes, lots and even local vape stores ending up with fakes or their last run of badly manufactured batch.

My thoughts smok is intensionally doing that to push there latest releases, that people claim to be much better, starting with the spiral, helmet and now their prince tank. Might be in my head tho, but it would make much more sense.

Anyways, some people here on the forum are using different manufacturer coils with this tank at a more satisfying result. I'm at work right now and can't really search the forum link, give it a go and see if that's any different.

Also keep in mind every mod works differently and one you listed is the minikin2, its a hard hitting mod and smoke wattage recommendations are on the higher end, 90 watt you might get away with let's say on a smok, joyetech mod for example, will hit three times as hard on a asmodus, DNA, FSK or gene chip device. So lowering it magnificently might do the trick and still resulting in the same output.

Now I could recommend a tons of tanks, but and maybe I've overlooked it, if so I'm sorry, what are we looking at? Just clouds on a higher temperature tank, that's capable of with standing long draws, can't say best because pre made coils always have a limit? Or are you wanting great flavor to go with that? Or we looking at flavor as main priority and clouds secondly? At the end it all matters but might be easier for us to suggest something, instead of copy and paste a list of 30+ sub ohm tanks lol.

Edit: we also have seen lately a huge increase of more sweeteners used in liquids, some well known companies are much sweeter than a year or two ago, this will lead to coils burning out faster because of the gunk.

Edit even more: if you want to keep your vape style of hitting a tank within seconds for a long period of time, you'll need to lower your VG and that comes at the prize of loosing clouds. You will need to give your tank time to catch up due to the higher VG. Also try poking some holes into the cotton, 2-4 per metal sleeve, prime it, take 5 hits without the fire button pressed, let stand at least 10-15 minutes. Start on the low wattage end and work your way up. That is defiantly another issue and with all that together pretty much the cause of your coils burning out quickly.

Thanks for the info. I'll try the poking of the holes.
I might still try to see if I can get recommended a different tank. Unless you have and suggestions. Tank wise?
Do you think temp control could would be better. I never had issues with temp control when I used this coils...

Hard vaping and factory coils are a tough combination. I get around it by alternating setups. I will even alternate with a pod vape if out and around, so the main tank can wick and cool off.

You might consider tanks like the Arco 2 and Falcon. The Falcon coils offer different combinations of flax paper, flax fiber, wood pulp, cotton, and mesh. Arco coils have flax paper with cotton. These coils are intended to hold up better. Time will tell.

I use Arco 2 coils in my tfv8 cloud, and it works well. Longer life than smok coils.

As for smok coils, some are worse than others. Baby q2 coils and Cloud x4 coils don't last as long as the others for me at least. Some have good flavor, others not.

For clouds with the Baby, I prefer t8 coil. Many other coils are compatible with Baby tanks.... Eleaf, Vaporesso, Joyetech, Wotofo, etc. And the new Prince Baby coils will fit.

Thanks for that information!

I'm gonna be honest I don't know that much about ecig shit. I know enough to get what I need. I dont know coil models. I don't know any thing really about how they work. I know what juice I like, the pg/vg what tank I have and what coils I use... That being said... All those coils you listed... Are any of those coils going to work or just certain'models'? You know how there are different kinds of coils? Like different ohms, different metal, temp control and wattage? Is there certain ones in those brand that will work? Or is it just across the board? I did go buy a new coil, and I tried poking some holes in the cotton to keep the juice flowing. In fact I took a syringe and injected juice straight into the cotton to see if that will yeild results. I'm also trying to be mindful of how I vape. It's impossible. I vape how I vape. I can't change...

I vape just like you do, hard and sometimes long hits, i was having the same problem you was at first also. What worked for me was to use the Q2 (.15ohm or .6ohm depending on the mod im using) and X4 (.15ohm and .4ohm) coils in my baby beast and big baby beast. I have a Sigelei Mt220 mod that i normally use with the lower ohm coils and higher wattage, and use the higher ohm coils in my Wismec Rx75 mod. I smoked 2 packs of ciggs a day until i started vaping and now i dont smoke them at all, i just vape. Its all about finding the right coil for your mod range and getting it in the right tank for the flavor and clouds both. I like the big baby beast more myself, it holds alot more liquid than the baby beast. I only have the baby beast because it fits my little rx75 perfect, that mod only takes 22mm tanks.

I can tell you, Wotofo coils will work really well in these tanks also, they have several different coil ranges to choose from also. Joyetech coils will also fit, just take your old coil to the vape shop with you to show them what you're looking for and tell them your interested in other brands of that coil besides smok. Some of the other brands arent as highly mass produced as the smok stuff is and less chances of a fake/clone batch of coils, because those are out there.

I've noticed as the subohm tanks have changed so have the juices. Not that long ago the shops near me sold 50/50. Now with the begger tanks they've gone to thicker juices. Higher VG juices take a little longer to wick properly between hits. Are you using the same liquids as before?

I'd reccomend get another or even a couple more set-ups going and alternate. That will slow down the wear and tear of your coils. You will also have a variety of flavors at your disposal if you choose.

The baby beast quad coils are my least favorite of the whole series. I use Q2's. Like somebody already said, there are tons of compatible coils from all kinds of companies. http://vapingunderground.com/threads/smok-baby-beast-coil-fits.342982/

You're shop might be selling you dud clone coils. I'd order some online from a reputable source. Or you could even try a new tank. I recently won a Fireluke Mesh tank. I'm still on the first coil. Its been going strong since January 10th. It uses a kanthal mesh screen as the heating element instead of regular wire. Looks like this inside-

I propose a solution:

This thread is old but I just broke my rda and cracked out the old baby with a new coil
(I'm using a standard baby beast single .4ohm - this probably won't work for other versions like the quad etc, I don't have them to hand to try.
So I had the same damn problem - it only lasted a day. Got another new coil - same thing
I saw a thread advising to poke a hole in the wick with a needle for more flow. That just messed it up so I ripped it out... and realised I could replace it with my own damn cotton - which I carefully did with lots of thin lightly rolled pieces. Two of the holes can be filled from the top, the other two from the side - just get it all snug with no holes. So now my baby beast is an rdta that handles (modern day) high VG juice like it's supposed to.
It's vaping better than ever - actually... it's vaping pretty damn well
Happy days
