Vaping, nausea, sinus issues

Hello all, I’ve been vaping for about 2 years bow and I’ve noticed, since I started, I have these bouts of mass amounts of phlegm in my throat, nausea, ear ringing and fatigue. I can tell you that I am a chain-vaper. I vape constantly while driving, which I do a lot because my vehicle is my living. I’ve tested it out and when I stop vaping for 2 weeks or so, the symptoms die down. The juice I have right now is a strawberry shake flavor 70/30. Any advice on how I can continue vaping and not feel sick?

The nausea is almost certainly from too much nicotine -- you didn't mention the nic level you use. But whatever it is, chainvaping at that level is making you nauseated.

When you say 70/30, do you mean the traditional 70PG/30VG, or this newfangled idiocy of putting the VG first? If you're using 70% PG, it's easy to see that it's too much, because tinnitus is a common side effect of too much PG exposure. However if you're actually using 30% PG... it still seems to be too much, with tinnitus going on.

The phlegm is probably from the VG, since VG is thick, and too much phlegm is the usual side effect of too much VG.

I know you may not want to hear this... but it really sounds like the chainvaping is the bottom-line cause of all this; just too much vaping -- the PG is making your ears ring, the VG is causing phlegm -- the happy medium between the 2, and probably the excessive nic also, is to just not vape so much. (or vape at lower wattage/higher resistance, to make less vapor; and inhaling it mouth-to-lung rather than direct-to-lung wouldn't hurt either.)

I agree with the above.

Nicotine in general makes me feel that way (I vape 0)

But I get headaches, dizziness, and I’m glad you mentioned ear ringing because I thought I was nuts.

Some people with a PG sensitivity seem more prone to tinnitus, even if they aren't experiencing any particular irritation from the PG. With both tinnitus and excessive phlegm.. it's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, which is why it seemed to me to just be too much vapor, period. The nausea would tend to support that idea too.

It could be the nicotine. but phlegm and sinus issues could very well be flavoring related. anything with heavy creams could cause that even 1 - 2% Cap NY cheesecake gives me serious buildup to the point I can't lung hit these flavours. now I only MTL these flavours and it helps alot.

Like was mentioned above some people are sensitive to PG and VG while too much nicotine can cause nausea but some people are sensitive to the flavoring in an e-Liquid so I would suggest trying flavorless first to see if it is the flavoring. Good Luck

I wouldn't call it idiotic. I started out with juice that was 60% PG and after a while it started burning my throat and I was coughing a lot. Some people just can't stand high amounts of one or the other. I only vape 70%+ VG now.

I call it the proper way to display a ratio because the bigger number always go first and VG/PG indicates what is what. Just because some early vapors listed it that way at the time the larger number was the PG so it was listed first. That is the proper way to display a ratio and it should indicate PG/VG now 50/50 doesn't require it to be listed.
