So let’s start at the beginning if you are building I assume you are comfortable knowing your way around building safely? This bit need to come first you cannot build below 0.1 ohm on the gen 3

Step two read the user manual

User guide here

You have power mode (VW) this is the easiest to use select a wattage you are happy with simples

Then there’s temperature control (TC). You can use the standard settings for Stainless Steel, Titanium or Nickel (NI200) or set the TCR value and pre heat manually, again though you can only use the metals above for temperature control.

These are the basics have a read of the manual and start asking some questions :)

What kind of batteries are you using?

Are you using an external charger?
I have westinghouse 2000mah batteries, i mostly use the box on .2 amp charge. It has arctic fox on it and has a setting that helps keep the batteries in balance is my understanding. I use an external charger when they go really dead.

I have no idea how to figure what resistance to use, i just turn the smart setting on and it sets itself in vw. But someone replaced the programming on my mod with something different. Its called arctic fox... theres stuff like shunt, bvo, rcboc, etc.. i have no idea what they do.

They are 7A batteries! No do not use those big pile of shit batteries get yourself something decent

I live in a ns ass retirement town closest vape store is 30 min, and i dont believe in credit cards. I picked up a pack of 4 for 15 bucks. Vapor maven wants 15 per battery... i dont have 45 bucks for batteries lhh. After reading that i pulled my batteries and put it on hiatus until i hear if these will be safe or not. Also, suggestion for batteries that will allow me to hit my mod at 300w

Arctic fox user guide

Not sure if this guide applies to all devices or not but I imagine it will explain a lot of what’s on your mod and how to use it

If it's the ones that are a UR18650F or UR18650A definitely *not*. They're rated at a max of 5A and 6.3A respectively.

Typically you want to completely avoid laptop batteries for vaping, the only *pack* batteries that I would even consider using are from power tools -- so they're designed for high drain applications, even then I'd do careful research.

People selling these on ebay as "Vaping" batteries need to be drug into the street and beaten.

Are sanyo R1112s ok? Jus salvaged from a dell laptop battery.
Welcome. You would do well to listen and follow the advise you've been given. You came here for help from experienced vapers didn't you? Never take the cheap or easy way out for your batteries. For as long as they last quality batteries are a cheap investment. Sorry for the lecture, just looking to keep you around uninjured.

Yea going cheap on batteries is the wrong way to do things. If I was going to spend a ton of money it would be on batteries vs the mod. You can find better ones at almost any shop but stay away from ones that have the word fire in them. Lol. There's a lot of good advice I hope you take. Cheap is never better unfortunately.

Not all vape store employees should actually work at a vape shop. So many uninformed people I hope for your sake the employees at your shop are knowledgeable. Not to say everyone here is always correct but your looking at years of experience from the numerous people that helped. Glad you got things worked out though.
