So i just got bit by the BB bug...

Have 2 clones a dna60 rat and a dna40 blue (what's the code name for this color?) Thanks @Nailz :)

Getting along great with the insider and the exocet and looking into getting some .7 bvc coils to try. Have the kanger rba but bridge that fits the coils is too long for it :(

Caught up with the thread, see some familiar faces here.

Question... Is there a grey/gunmetal version of the BB or is it the dober in differentlighting that I've seen a couple times here? Thought the dober was a bronze/brownish...
3c943a0dbc514b3f231165a3afd9b224.jpg

Also got my BB from nailz (sxk 70w), I will have a look when I get home and see if there is an extra kanger! I prefer the kanger rba in this, with the air flow ring for MTL, much smoother and quieter than the exocet

If I can find an extra kanger bridge, I will PM you, I only need one after all

I always thought the doors on these were a satiny soft stuff because of the appearance, which put me off of buying one, luckily they are just stout plastic

Has anyone tried the Aspire Triton RTA coil head in the A-tank?

Seems like the poor-mans version of the 'Bastard Coil' which is both expensive ($130) if you can even find it new anywhere.

The Triton RTA head also lets you run vertical coils, and Aspire even has a video on YT that shows how easy it is to build.

I want to run a rebuildable vertical coil in my BB for more airflow than the Exocet or the Kanger-style RBA and I do not use pre-made coils.

Last night I found a site selling the full Aspire Triton RTA kit for $1, so I bought two of them. Should have them in about a week hopefully. See here: https://www.vaporworld.biz/clearance/aspire-triton-rta-coil/

But now everywhere I look that A-tank is out of stock.

Anyone got a spare A-tank to sell me that is unloved, or know of a vendor that has them in stock right now?

Thanks in advance! :)

A tiny clapton! that's so cute!

Is that kanthal, nichrome or ss316L? What does it come out to for resistance?

It's 0.66 ohms, about the same as if I'd used 2x30 which I usually do, all kanthal

Thanks for the link. That one is out of stock tho.

Also, that is where I got my SXK BB DNA60 in rat black 2 weeks ago.

The A-tank was out of stock then too, otherwise I would have added it to the order.

They are good folks there at Gas City Vapes, and actually called me on the phone to confirm my order and when speaking to them, they were sealing it up and handed it off to the mail carrier immediately after.

9 days later received it to NJ USA from Canada. Very happy since then. :)

A+ seller, would buy again.

I've received the SXK clone of the Steam Tuners Insider RBA head from FT ($12) and am really liking the airflow on this better than the Kanger-style RBA head and also more than the Exocet too. I've run all of these without the little afc ring, and thus the airflow wide open.

Anyone got recommendations on coil builds on the insider?

I am finding that with most of these RBA heads for the BB that I am get a much nicer vape for me with a build ~1.1 Ohm, which is like 10 wraps of 26g Kanthal on 2.5mm or so...17-21w seems to be a good range for me with this too.

Not sure if I should try a similar build, but 3mm dia or 2mm dia to try and boost the flavor. Any thoughts on this?

Also, it seems that running over 1.0 Ohm greatly increases the battery life, along with the flavor too, which is nice.

BTW- I am still looking for the A-Tank for the Atlantis/Triton coil heads, which is different from the standard boro tank because the 'bottom' hole of the tank has a larger diameter in order to accommodate the bigger Aspire coil heads.

I have also received the Triton RTA coil head that I purchased for $1 as mentioned in a previous post, and built it, and put it in my Melo 3 Mini tank which is compatible with these style coils, and it vapes really nice with good airflow and lots of flavor, so it would be nice to try this also in the A-Tank in the BB.

Yeah, the higher ohms were a go-to build for years.

I don't believe you will gain much w/ a larger build in those RBA's - 2mm is a solid ID.

I still have no BB-clone, and look for the an A-tank - I have to wonder if a regular tank can just be reamed out... And, dammit - my Triton RBA apparently tried to land Saturday, but they never posted it was out for delivery, so I left for work..

Now I am hoping the damned thing arrives tomorrow. I'd be willing to bet I have to go for a drive and find it myself. (I'm almost wondering if 3Fvape arrives before the local PO manages a redelivery) That signature-required jive really screws up the works.

Thanks for the reply.

On most other RBA/RTA setups I usually favor 3mm ID for my builds, and 2mm seems like a tiny amt of wicking inside...

Right now on the Insider, it is 2.5mm, and more than ~23w I get the start of dry hits if chain vaping, so I keep it ~20w and it's just nice.

I feel your pain on the shipping.

Vaporworld also sent the Triton RBA with signature required. I had to sign the slip and then go on usps.com and request redelivery, and thankfully it was left in the mailbox next day.

I built mine with a vertical coil with a 3.5mm ID on the tool included and as per the instructions in the kit and the video from Aspire on YT. The airflow is just great for me wide open on the Melo 3 Mini. The Tobeco Super Tank Mini can also use these coils, and I'm in half a mind to get one of those (~$20 now) due to the rave reviews and the ability to use this RBA head. I had the RTA version of the Super Tank and it was a leaky mess no matter what I did with the wicking, so I gave up on it. I prefer single coil anyway, and you can't really do single coil in an RTA with a velocity deck.

I used to rebuild the Kanger SSOCC coils, but had to do horizontal since I could never get the verticals to not short out, but the genius of the design of the Triton RBA is that one leg of the coil gets screwed in to the chimney section, so it does not have to go down to the same end as the other coil leg...

I was also thinking to drill out a standard boro tank, but if you look into the hole at the bottom, there is an o-ring embedded inside the hole, and I have no idea how to replicate that if that o-ring slot gets removed with a wider bore...maybe some kind of slot-cutter thing rigged at a 90-degree angle in the dremel?

I dunno...but I can measure the hole needed by measuring the outer diameter of the Triton RBA where it would sit in the tank, and then maybe stay .5mm inside that diameter for a snug fit, because surely I don't want this to leak all over the inside of the BB...

your thoughts are welcome on any of this :)

Yes. I ordered an Atlantis clone for about $6 from KP, and that arrived fine - all washed and awaiting the Triton. I'm pretty sure I'll order some larger tank if it works even remotely well - as all I own are RTA and squonk RDA's.

I suspect I should trip down the road to the mailbox and stuff this damned pinkslip in there - but I already know the PO won't even read the web-side request. Last time I just got fed-up and drove over to the next city and PO pickup.

Yes, I noticed the Triton seemed to think it thru really well. Verticals are usually just too much horror and tying/knotting Nickel legs into the coil is a biotch.

I've wondered about using the tapered-reamer to swell the hole-size, and then clamping the tank down and working on the inside with something like a round dremel-burr. Dead simple to visualize automated hw doing, but by hand it sounds really iffy. I'd take it out to the RBA dia, plus 1/4 to 1/2 a nice fat oring. HOWEVER, here's the rub: you still need the threaded widget for top and bottom of the coil or RBA. Even if you could tight-ream it, and thread it into the bottom of the tank, you still need some sorta' widget to run from the top of coils/rba out of the tank itself.

I've decided to abandon search for the A-tank. Takes up to much juice space... I do have the mf bridge for EUC coils ordered. I like the idea of minimal coils for lower cost and waste. Never used vaporesso coils before but they seem popular. I've had great luck with the RBAs so far. I tried building higher ohms but have found if i build 24g or 26g ni80 or 316l to about ~.6ohm and run it 20w-30w that works best (this is for insider/exocet/kanger)

Oh yeah, i got my kanger rba/bridge from @forza yesterday. Thanks!

Modified quote to add that link - they too are OOS, except for plan BB tanks in B&W w/o fittings
Thanks for that.

I'm subscribed to the notifications now on both sites. I'll still be hunting elsewhere in the meantime.

I posted to the classifieds but figured I'd ask here also...

I'm looking for a silver billet box rev4 dna60. Clones ok. No accessories needed.

Anyone?

I picked up a Golden Nugget as well. As much as I like my squonker which was recently the only vape I use, this is definitely going to replace it. Have an In'Ax mesh carto tank inbound in case I ever want to go back to vaping NET's. But for now, unflavored high-Nic juice with the ST insider sure hits the spot for me :)

Hey guys/gals!
My MF bridge is coming home soon... Which EUC coils is everyone using and where is a good place to get them?
TIA

Oh and on a side note... I've got a line on a SXK POO with a bad chip for an interesting project... I'll just leave a hint for now...

"Squillet Box???"

Whaaaa?
:)

I’ve tried a lot of the EUC coils with my bridge. My favorite and the one I use on a daily basis is the EUC .5 clapton

After 3 attempts, I finally got my hands on one of these:

VapeShell-with-Air-Flow-Pins-e1518514542208-640x640.jpg

Shipping is pretty slow from Greece, so will probably get it in hand in about 2 weeks, will post an update if anyone here is interested.

So what are the chances of getting a hold of a used BB RPG Rev 4? Seems like a color most dont sell and BBV hasn't listed any on their site in a while.

Thanks @forza You were right, it was much faster than I had expected; I got some items previously from Atmistique but it took a really long time so I was expecting the same, but yeah, overall less than a week from payment to my door which was a nice surprise ;)

As for the Vapeshell, I'm liking it. I was previously using the original insider, but always wished the airflow was a tad bit tighter.
(there is a new MTL version out now, but looks like the only change is a reduced air-slot)

Currently using the VS with the smallest air-disk, AFC ring about 1/2 open and it basically vapes just like a proper Kayfun. BTW, the AFC ring is NOT loose, its quite stable so your setting shouldn't move under normal use. Draw is super smooth, quiet and find no spit back issues at all.

There is a small learning curve on assembling the shell inside the tank, but after one attempt you'll find it very easy to do. The Vapeshell is very tiny, but more than enough deck space so I found this to be the easiest rebuildable atty for the Billet Box I've used to date. I'm just using simple kanthal builds, 2.5mm diameter, 5-6 wraps which gives me around .8 ohms.

Cant really comment on the flavor since I'm using unflavored juice, but will try later on after I run this for awhile to see how it works long term.

Overall, this is a very solid product, excellent machine work and concept, and with the many different airflow configurations you can set it up with, definitely a must have item IMHO if you have a billet box and looking to use it with a rebuildable.

Some nice new BB releases this weekend, several nugget variations and a nice silver one as well as of the time I am posting this.
Also looks like the vapeshells are continuously stocked at Atmizoo now as well as Vapes by Enushi.

I was so so very close to ordering a RPG yesterday. Glad my bank account said no for me!
These arrived today from JMK for the SXK Dober 70W that's on it's way. I will probably wind up selling that along with a couple other things to get my hands on an authentic. Something about that RPG just speaks to me.

So, excuse the uninitiated, but what do I need to know about the BB? What bridges should I get ( I like rebuilding but not shy of using ready made coils), what are the plugs for? Is there a consensus as to which bridges are better (MTL or DL)...

So my understanding of the RBAs is this:

Steam Tuners Insider is MTL. Tightest of the bunch.. Easy to build, not so easy to wick..

Exocet is looser draw, but still can do MTL. Kayfun style build deck, easier to wick.

Someone else will have to comment on the Vapeshell and the Bastard Coil as I don't know much about them.

The Racing Bridge is popular and I believe that's for Kanger OCC coils.

There's another one for Nautilus Mini/Triton Mini coils but the name escapes me ATM.

You'll need an A Tank if you want to run Atlantis coils, and that's a Boro tank with a larger hole in the bottom for the coils to fit

It kind of felt good to empty my head that way...
