Ok thanks bud. I'll give it a try.

I finally ordered a pack of coils today. This was before I saw the SS versions. I think I'm going to change my first one out tonight. It had a good run. Over two months is pretty impressive. It would have lasted longer if I hadn't scortched it on Sunday. Keep an eye on your juice level guys. When I hit it more than a full second, I'm getting a slight toasty, or burnt flavor at the end of the drag. I'll keep track again and hopefully never run it low.

Sorry looks like this sale ended

Flavor wise, I do think this is the best tank I've ever had. I don't keep track of bow many days a coil lasts because it lacks context in terms of how much juice has been vaped. I did have one coil last me 130+ mls. It was a thing of beauty. Problem is I've had other coils last for a very short amount of time. I've had them not even last for 30mls of juice.

I do have to constantly. Many times the coil/tank needs to be vented to allow air bubbles to rise and for the wicking to do its job. If I don't vent regularly, dry hits will happen. I run mine around 62 watts. In fairness it seems like every tank I own has to be regularly vented.

The Mesh SS316 0.12 Ohm coils/meshes are out around now too. Also turns out the Vapeston mesh tank is an exact 1-1 match of the Freemax. All parts interchangeable. Here's one with a Fireluke SS mesh doing TC. Replay works great!

I've been using the SS coils for a while and greatly prefer the kanthal mesh. The SS coils give me dry hits in wattage mode. There seems to be less cotton in them. I tried temp control on 2 mods and neither got hot enough for me. I'm running my last KA1 coil now but will try TC on my RX Gen 3 when it dies. I don't expect it to work well there either. Haven't experimented with TCR mode yet.
Vaping a Falcon with bubble glass this weekend. Love the capacity.

I watched a review for the Digiflavor Themis. The guy sounded like Borat lol. Anyways, he said the kanthal mesh was superior too. I don't know why its the case with mesh.

The baby Prince tank has mesh coils already. I haven't heard if people like them yet. Them coils are supposed to fit in the Baby Beast tanks. It would be nice to run mesh in my BBs.

I saw on the smok site that we can expect mesh coils for the bigger TFV12 Prince tank. I will definitely be on the look out for those.

The Ijoy Avenger tank has been out for a while now and it hasn't taken the world by storm...
"New" wicking material, sawdust & recycled diapers:confused: or some such might have something to do with that tho.

I haven't seen this mentioned. The ADV kit is on preorder from InkedAtty. Capacity is about my only complaint on the Fireluke.
Sorry if this is violating the forum rules. I looked over them and think its OK.

What in the world is going on with the snake skin theme? I see it alot now, mostly with the drip tips. Now mods n tanks all have that same pattern. Is it just a fad that we can all look back on years later and laugh about?

I got one, assembled it on a Fireluke SS grid finish. Looks cool by itself. Put it on my mod but looks, well, screwy. Not for public appearances. Went back to the bubble glass. 5ml is decent enough. 3 sure won't cut it.

There fabbing them now with acrylic resin over SS frames. It opens the entire gamut of gaudy I mostly stick with old school stainless finishes. This one is pretty subtle irl.

The snakeskin mod depicted is actuality a camo silicone skin (different animal). I've got boring black too and can add on a per fad basis.

I searched and found this Vapro site claiming SS mesh but I'm not believin it
because they look like the same .15 coils (Kanthal) that come with it.

They are not the same as the Freemax. They have SS bodies with kanthal mesh. I tried, not SS. I wrote them and they claim to be coming out with SS mesh but not as of now so beware if you want them for TC.

Updated T1 version of the VooPoo Uforce will have a new mesh coil and some other new coils, plus a bubble glass option.

Tried Prince Baby mesh coil briefly before leaving town without it. First impression- decent enough but not something that would wow you. Much like other baby coils when they are working right.

I wish Freemax would do a mesh coil for the full size Fireluke and Pro, which are probably better with rba now. Existing coils are nice but finicky- don't hold up well to sweet juice, some flavors and mods better than others with this tank.

Sorry, I was talking about the pattern on your tank. I think it's a snake skin pattern.
Like this mod, and its drip tip-

Like your Vapeston Avatar (Which looks awesome!)-

Is it snake skin or honeycomb? I dunno why that pattern is "hot" right now. But I'm seeing more and more of it. There must be a warehouse full of them drip tips in China.

Is that site worth filling out an "application process"?
Only place I could find the SS meshes. Stuff got here fast. No complaints. You'll likely be seeing more of this registration/identity stuff, at least shows they're trying to operate above board in the US.

So far, trying kanthal from both Freemax and Vapeston and the Freemax SS. They all taste great at the start. SS is crisper and cleaner on my DIY juices, on par with my reference tasters.

They all have poor wicking, the thin, dense cotton will clog quickly. 10ml of max vg and you'll be venting to vape. I could go about 5 days using my usual 70vg, 1h2o mixes. Then unscrew the top to vent and vape. Not great. High PG juices will fare much better but I'm somewhat allergic/intolerant and don't go lower except MTL blends.

The SS runs TC really nicely. Mesh is a notch coil on steroids. Very low heat mass and huge surface area makes TC ramp with blazing speed with fast rebound cooling. Also accommodates the ever decreasing wicking without going dry, just progressively thins until a vent.

I'll eventually try rebuilding the SS with less dense CBV2 or kojo. My Themis Mesh RTA just got off the boat so moving to that a while. Early results, 3 days of full use: Almost certain to become my principal, full use, daily. Glad I bought 2.

I took my first one apart and yeah they pack em tight with those little pads. I use 70/30 and like you said, it wicks fine.

I love my Themis. It works awesome. They are built really solid.

I got my expansion glass today for my mesh tank. It looks a little off tho I think. My tank looks so strait with the grid pattern and everything. The glass has curves, where the tank has none. I dunno, I guess it does its job.

I got a voopoo uforce t1 tank.... and now I am sold on mesh. I hear the fireluke coils fit it? They look like they do. Think I'll try them if it ever dies.

Side note... eleaf ello vate and joyetech procore have mesh coils (both fit in one another) and it really brings those tanks alive.

I got it yesterday and it's not really for me...

This isn't the warm, flavor-dense vape of the C3 .5 by a long shot. I guess I knew
this going in cause someone (Frank?) said so and it's true...
It is a verry airy and cool vape, even at the tighest air-flow setting.

I'm glad I got to try mesh but this one needs a new home.
Blue w/ 1 box of SS 316 coils.
make offer - I'm partial to cheeburgers. :treadmill:

EDIT
ps... 8Vape did a great job, fast & true. Thanks for the referral, I'll go back there.

Dud you try the kanthal .15 coils? I've heard the ss316 coils aren't as good

Yeah, that's the only one I have tried. I should try one of the SS coil heads.
Not saying it's bad, some people prefer a cooler, less restricted vape. Im'a stick with the Crown 3.

To each their own but I gave the crown 3 and I just see the flavor on the mesh as head and shoulders above the rest

To aid wicking on my second coil I poked a few holes in the cotton with a needle, it lasted a week and a half before flavor faded, the first only lasted 5-6 days with the unscrew to vent method

I just bought these coils and was hoping to save some money on longer life compared to my 5 days on a prince coil. They seem to be burning after just 2 days. I have a smok procolor 225 and I am running at .15ohm and around 60 watts, can some one help me?

No idea what's going wrong with your coils. Your wattage seems ok. It's probably your juice. Taking longer drags can fry your cotton too. I haven't had to alter my coils at all and they keep up in the wicking department. I don't use sweeteners tho. Commercial juices seems to have a ton of it. That shit is murderous on coils.

Got my fireluke mesh today. After 20 min of letting it sit I tried it and it tasted burnt... any ideas?
It is sitting on a Kangertech Vola.

Burnt, or cotton taste because not broken in yet? Did you start at lower wattage? Power mode not temp control? Juice about 70 vg give or take? Airflow open? I let it sit about 30 min but not a big difference. My guess is you have a dud coil.

You could try to make a few small pin holes in the cotton on the sides of the coil, drop the wattage down, take a few dry pulls without power, then try again. But unless you are tasting new cotton, I'm still guessing dud coil.

Did you slowly increase the wattage and prime the coil?? You have to start at low wattage say 30 watts an take a short puffs then go up 5 watts. Repeat process for like 20 minutes till you get to right wattage an let the coil break in. You can't just let it sit an fire it at like 70 watts

I have the other coil sitting now. I started at 40 and tried to go up. It’s just got worse. I did everything I’ve been told to do. I’ve only been vaping for 3 weeks give or take.

I started at 40 watts and went up. It was just a warmer burnt taste. You can taste the liquid but not much. My Mod said “check atomizer” so I took it completely apart and tried again. I’d love to blame it on the mod because I hate it. Lol.

Edit: now it’s saying automizer short”

Thanks for all the great feedback, it all helped a little, but I finally just went back to my Smok Prince and am now doing my own cotton and coils. The money save is incredible and the flavor is perfect.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a wicking issue more than anything. I’ve soaked and primed and slowly worked my way up to 60w on 4 brand new coils and burnt all 4 within a day. Look inside the top of your coils (pretty easy to spot) but your coils and cotton should be wet. Take a drag and watch the cotton and coils/mesh, If its not soaking up the juices as fast as it should and your firing the mod on dry cotton it will burn. I believe the cotton is just too tightly wrapped. Poking holes seems to be the only solution for now. Also remember mesh coils heats up almost immediately where regular coils have a ramp up time.
