Need help determining wattage

I’m new to the RBA world of vaping. When you buy for example Smok coils( non rba)it gives the OHMs and wattage range. When purchasing for example some Clapton coils to use on a RBA deck, it doesn’t give the ohms or wattage range. How do I know what wattage to Vape these new coils? I have an ohm reader but is there any type of website that gives ohm to safe wattage range ? I’ve looked at Steam Engine and it confuses the hell outta me.

Start out with Volts and not Watts, I'd start about 4V then work up a bit if you need to.

I agree but I would start at 3.6 volts and work up. That's just me.

What would the best wattage be to vape these coils and how do you determine that?

Never mind. I used the coil builder app and plugged in the numbers as though I was building a new coil.

Vape it at whatever wattage gives you the most satisfaction - I have often found that the "recommended" wattage doesn't give the best vape

U mm the wattages on steam-engine.org coil building tabs have NOTHING to do with safety. If you want to know your safe go to the BATTERIES tab... enter your bateries. Type of control and other data. To see if the build you are using is safe. Or a safe range to build in.

Can be confusing at first... easy way to learn to understand it is disecting coilheads enter the data from known good vape. I learned to build using old Kanger Protank heads and parts from Lightning Vapes.

Practice is all it takes and learning what does what.... I will say leave the wire wizard and complex builds Ie claptons till you understand stand the coil builder using plain wire first... then it just a matter of getting g the colors right.

I won’t be venturing into building Clapton’s from scratch just yet. I purchased some premade Claptons. Just wanted to know at what wattage to vape them.

If you're going to go by voltage it really varies on ohms. I got a single coil build .21 ohms and 4v is about 60w but in another atty which is dual coil .11 ohm build 3.2v comes out to slightly above 80w

I won’t be venturing into building Clapton’s from scratch just yet. I purchased some premade Claptons. Just wanted to know at what wattage to vape them.

Your best bet is just to start on a low wattage and work your way up until you get to the point you are happy with what you are getting from your vape

P=Vsquared/R so if you wanted to start off at 3.6V as suggested above, then just divide 12.96 by your atomiser resistance and that will give you the Wattage setting for a V of 3.6V.

For example,

If your atomiser resistance is 0.25 Ohms, by setting your mod to 51.84W, it will be providing a Vavg of 3.6V.
If your atty resistance is 0.6 ohms then 21.6W will give a Vavg of 3.6V.

There is no need to complicate it though. Just start low and work up, the worst that is going to happen if you set your watts too low for the coil is that you aren't going to produce any vapour.
