I have been working on an android app for Coil Wrapping, E-Liquid Mixing, and Ohms law (hopefully more functions to come). I was dissatisfied with the android vaping apps available so I began working on VaporCalc. My hope is that you, the Vaping Community can help give feedback on what you believe should be added, or changed in future versions to make it better. Hopefully it will help those who download it, and hopefully you can help me improve on it.

Available for free on the Google Play Store.

I haven't tried it out (yet). But looking at the first screenshot, I think there's a small miscalculation: it says "7.6 turns (rounded to 7)" for the coil. Actually, if both leads are on the same side of the coil proper (like more atomizer resistances are), it should be rounded to 7.5 turns. There's only an integer number of turns if the "trailing" lead "leaves the coil" parallel and in the same direction as the "leading" lead "enters the coil" (i.e. if one lead is on one side of the coil and the other is on the other side) if that makes sense. If it's not clear, I can take photos if you want.

The only atomizers that take coils with leads on each side and a round number of coils I've encountered are atomizers with a center airflow and side posts, such as the the A7 and mini-A7. All the others, with off-center coils and side air holes take coils with both leads on the same side and a x-and-a-half number of coils.

Other than that, great job! I look forward to giving your app a spin when I'm back home from work.

Yes, it rounds to 7 (8/7) (7 full wraps) - (8/7 = 7/8 = 7.5, depending on how you call it) I can see your point of view, but im not certain it would make more sense or not to most people. There isnt an issue making it go one way or another, it just seemed to me personally the best way to have it display. I do appreciate your looking at it and giving your opinion, as I have had very few comments since I first released it. I hope this makes sense to most people, I hadnt really thought about it that way.

Mixed up a couple recipes on it tonight and it is very easy to use and gets out to two decimal points for smaller batches.
Great app.
When saving, can you make the already saved juices names pre populate in the drop down so you don't have to write it in again? Like if I am just updating a mix.

I believe I can do that, a dropdown box of existing flavors with an "update recipe" button? it may be a week or 2, but I will add that to the list of things to add.

Yeah, that would be great.
I just have my base named "Base" and load that to start a new recipe and name it whatever beore I save.

But yeah, a update button while I'm in a mix making changes would be great.

it should load the recipe named default when the eliquid calculator loads, the last update was supposed to do that (if you dont have a recipe named default, it loads default variables I set them to). If you have any other ideas or problems, you can post them up here. If you dont mind and can take the time to do it, please rate the app on google play - I appreciate it.

Hey Vaporcloud,
The app doesn't seem to work on my phone, the juice calculator does, but the coil tool doesn't give any output.
That being said, I find it kind of hard to believe anyone actually mixes liquids like this. Here's how I work:
In all my recipes, the maximum amount of flavoring is 20%. What I do is, I just mix my flavors in a, say, 30ml bottle calculating the amounts in regard to the volume of that container. Then I add my nicotine PG/VG base till it reaches the 30 ml mark. I have two bases, 10mg and 7mg, and frankly I don't really care that much about a target nicotine level. As long as it is somewhere around 6%. Afterwards, just for fun, I calculate the actual amount of nicotine in my mixes.

Now it could very well be that I'm a moron, sloppy, impatient but I do this because mixing is next to impossible when working with target nicotine levels, so I opted for target flavor levels. Am I the only one mixing like this?

Sorry it isnt working properly for you. I believe you may be using a different decimal system than how it was designed - this most likely would cause problems. If you use a , instead of a . for decimal numbers I do believe it wont work properly, I expect that is the system you use. I do plan to add compatibility for this, but am unsure on when this will be done. If i'm wrong about that, please let me know what type of phone and android version you use. While not the best solution, you may be able to change your keyboard settings on your phone to use . instead of , which would hopefully allow everything to work properly.

As for mixing liquids, I suppose there is no right or wrong way, its what works best for you.

Are you planning on making one of these compatible for the App Store for iOS? I've recently started making my own juice and would also like to use this app for other "missions" lol. Looks like you got a good thing going on. Lemme know if and/or when it may be available for iOS.

I just updated the app, the new version should be available in a few hours. When saving a juice recipe it will now have the current loaded recipe's name in the save box so you wont have to type it again (not quite what I said I would do, but I believe its as efficient). Also added save/load/delete feature to the coil building area.

The next update should allow for more than 5 flavors. I havent had much time to do anything lately, hopefully the next update wont take as long as this one did.

Updated, thanx.
Loading the current recipe in the save drop down is perfect. Same as an update button really.

Looking forward to added flavor slots when you get to it. Thanx again.

Updated the app, it will be available on Google Play in a few hours.

You may now use up to 20 different flavors/additives in your E-Liquid recipes.
Now has option to display in Drops instead of ml (option in new *Settings area)
You may display and update notes on Recipes (option to display also in new *Settings area).
*The Settings option is on the top right when using the e-liquid calculator.*

These changes were all requests. Thanks for the suggestions, and I hope it helps those who requested them.

Nice! The notes section is appreciated.

Not sure if you want to go this far but a sharing section would be cool where peoples recipes are public if they choose or they could make it private.
Maybe that's something you can only do with an online tool, not an app?

That is something I have been thinking about, and it can be done. But at the moment I dont have anywhere to host the information. *if* I can get the time and resources to do it I would like to create a web version of the app, as well as a database for recipe's like you suggested (which ideally would be accessable from the app too), unfortunately if I ever could make this happen it wouldnt be anytime soon.

I really do appreciate your suggestions though. Please let me know if you get any more ideas.

Seems like if I am in a recipe that I entered notes in and I go to an older one pre-notes recipe the notes carry over and populate in the one that didn't have notes.

The notes may cross over between ones that already have notes in them too... can't remember.

Just thought I'd let you know.

been using the app for a bit, thanks for the share..

would it be possible to change the behavior of the ohm calc so that when you make a calculation, the entry fields don't get cleared?

sometimes i like to play around w/settings & having the ability to just tweak the wattage/ohms/etc. would be nice to not have to re-enter the other values.

thanks

yes, I can do that. It will be in the next update. Most likely available within the next few days. Thanks for the suggestion, I check this thread regularly if you have any more ideas.

Thanks for Sharing. I'm new to all of this, Been vaping for about a year. Always looking for Calculators for how many wraps on drill bits or mm rods etc to achive what I'm looking for, for an ohm build.

I just installed but haven't had time to check it out just yet. Since I don't know much about the Ohm Laws and stuff yet (Will be my Next Study), I just been wrapping the Coil at my Desired Ohm and Vaping on it. I have a Cherry Bomber (Aluminum 1 and a Wooden One On it's way), Also using a Subohm Kangertech Mini Subohm Tank with a Mini RBA, So all of my Coils are the Post on either side so it would end up being a 1/2 wrap to complete the coil.

Looking forward to checking this out.

I had a Chance to Play around with this.

I'm really liking it. I like how you can change the Inner Diameter of the Post or Rod. It will make it easier for me once I get a Coil Wrapper that has a 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 etc Rod in Milimeters that I can wrap it according to my Desired Ohms. it will give me how many wraps I need for that Ohm with the Size of the Wraping rod.

First off, thank you for your work! It is a good tool in our arsenal. One of the things to consider including is wire choices for twisted ( 2, 3 4..wires) where you can choose wire 1-gauge, wire 2-gauge and so on. Also a Clapton coil option. Just ideas.... For the record, I have been using your calculator for months now!!! Thanks again
Cheers,
