The 2nd to last build is all 46g fuses? It looks like you used .3R and had 46g on each side as a fuse!
That’s what I saw at first too lol. I did once try a staple stag with 42g, was attempting to do a pattern of something like 10, skip 3, 10, etc on the hand drill once. My eyes gave up an inch in...or maybe it was my mind. It hurt both lol. I dig it though @Pegleg Meg! You’re always tryin new shit, love it!

I'll input some advice that I haven't seen on the thread before. For triple cored Aliens I use the wire holders that come with the Daedalus V1. Those hold the cores tight so there's no need to use ribbon but you cannot use the decore to slide the holder along as it is too tight for that. I use 2. One in the chuck so I'm sure my wire is centered and one to slide along my rod. With that method I can do(and regularly do), from decoring to finished Alien rods(14 inches of Aliened wire per), 80 Aliens worth in about 7 hours. The Patino's Alien Makers I use one gauge up to get a tight enough hold on my cores...so the 28g works beautifully for 27g Aliens and I have the same output. I only use one holder on a 16 inch rod and have the holder about 8-10 inches away(so I only make 1 stop)
Can u put pics of the daedalus v1 holders? Just wondering how u attach it to drill chuck. Thx

@BoostedTrini

I have a question for you, how do you manage/handle/set your decores for long sticks of aliens?

Question vape fam, so I ordered the stacked section for my Dreamer, for shits and gigs. Any good series builds you guys recommend? I normally don’t build that high in ohms, I’m curious if anybody recommends some dope builds that perform well. I may just start simple with some quad core fused clappys and go ham with the wraps I guess lol.

I wouldn't suggest quad cores... I have some 2 core 28/40 fused Claptons in mine. About 10 wraps?

Thanks chef! I got the copper one too! I love this mech, such a good mod for the price. I also snagged the ultem button (matchy matchy with my drip tip lol) and drill cleaner attachment. Figured I’d spend the 50$ to get free shipping rather then pay shipping and get less for the same amount. I’ve never built for series before, and I always seem to mess up the calculations on apps. I think I don’t count wraps correctly or something. Always a tad off lol. Appreciate the feedback!

Maybeee... 3x28 kanthal, 3mm or 3.5mm ID, 7.5 wraps (looks like 8 wraps) = 0.3 to 0.4 ohms?

do you like n80 better? same specs but with 3x29 or 3x30

Or 30g frames and 6x.3 ribbon

I insert my 3 wires into the guides and bend them around the edges of the one I put in the chuck...giving me 2 90 degree bends. Tighten that down int he drill and secure the other end to the swivels. The slit in the guide is dead center and the guide itself is a cylinder. This ensures my cores are centered every time and it takes less than a minute to do.

Daedalus. I do a clapton anywhere from 42-54 inches long depending on what I'm doing and cut that in half. 23 inches of clapton gives enough decore to do 14 inches worth of Alien rod. I've stopped claptoning by hand months ago. Back then I could have done about 20-30 Aliens a day from start to finish. Now if I really want to I can do 100 Aliens in a day. In one hour I'll have about 20-28, 23 inch decores done flawlessly. It makes life sooooooo much easier.

Oops, what I meant was what do you do with your decore after stretching to make aliens? :D do you just lay it on the floor, in a pvc pipe, on a plastic mat, etc, because that would be a long decore after stretched, how do you protect it from snagging stuff or twisting up?

So I've done some practice again and found what I think are the sources of my issue. One was too understretched so the tension I had to apply was bunching up the cores and the other is I really do need a wire holder that holds this 28g tighter than the ones I have.
Quad 28/38g Aliens. All the the dreded hump I'm trying to avoid.

Quad 27g done with no issues. The guide holds them snug.

These two came out just the way I want...nice and flat.

The one on the far right is how I want all to turn out while the rest have the hump I hate.

I lay it out on the floor. The floor I build on is tiled so it's nice and smooth, no snags..the room behind the tiled section is carpeted though. So I stretch into that room and then double back when I lay the wire down...but yes, it is a long stretched decore.

Sweet ! I like that. I am waiting on a dual tool core holder from usa ohm. Its stuck in customs or lost . Been like a month ! Anyway that's a kool option . So I guess u had to buy the hole unit ? Or do they sell the pieces separately?

Lightning Vapes used to have it separately but no longer do. You'll most likely have to buy the whole unit(without drill). The V2 wire holders are wide body and have noticeably more play to them. You can fit one gauge larger than stated in them.

So I tried the cutter and I found it really hard to get the wire centered after folding it over itself... any ideas on what I'm doing wrong ??

The hole may be too small for how thick your core wires are, maybe?

I think more like the cotter was to thick and made it sit on the outside of the circle

That makes more sense

Havent tried mine yet but it's smaller...hope it works

If not my torn up swivel works pretty good, just isnt as sturdy
