Are you left- or right-handed?

Which side is your drill on?

Do more right-handers keep the drill on the right?

I'm right-handed and keep my drill on the left - already see another righty who uses the drill on the right

Lefty :D

I’m ambidextrous so depends what it is I’m doing ...actually drill with my right hand normally but coil building use the right hand to hold the lead and hold drill in my left

I don't use a drill for vape stuff.often. and when I did I used my drill press... so UP.

Hand drill is ambidextrous. . Depends on what and where I'm drilling.

Double right for me, I started that way, didn’t realize I was an odd ball until I started watching more vids. Almost everybody seems to have the drill on their left lol.

That's funny because I thought I was an oddball (drill on the left) then I saw that it's just all over the place, drill on the left, drill on the right, and doesn't seem to match up with handedness either

I see a lot of tutorials where the drill is on the right, squidoode, raymo2u, m terk, sherlock hohms, others... I figured they couldnt ALL be left handed lol, so I was doing it backwards but it feels way more natural

That's why I started this thread :D

I'm right handed but run the spool in my left. My swivels we're hooked up to a wall so that's what started it for me. And figured I could hold the trigger longer with my dominant hand.

Maybe I’m not so odd then, those dudes all rip coils like champs. I stuck with it because it felt natural too. I suppose that’s all that really matters lol

You know, the drill I used to use had a firm trigger and my left hand got tired and sore pretty fast, this one I got now though I can hold it down just a little pressure plus it goes really fast, I can build all day (except for my back and eyes getting tired)

I think my drill is 550rpm. I get caught up going that fast most times. Full speed for me is about 450 I'd say

The reloading press is on the right - so is handle; the drill is on the left, by the other outlet. The ball-swivel is speed-strapped to the left post of the press ;-)

(Of course, the drill IS reversible - sometimes I even do it deliberately ;-)

Others use it to kill tootle-puffers ;-)

And here I thought we were friends. Shows what I know.

I do know that when the FDA cracks the whip, only tootle puffers will be able to vape... no one else will be able to afford it, unless they win the lottery. 30ml a day gets expensive when ejuice costs $5/ml. And only tootle-puffers can stealth vape. ;)

Well, it worked on the Odysseus. Failed on the Siren v2, (I think they hid brass under nickel)

And, two RH Killer V2's arrived yesterday - with tanks. (I just need a few more of those damned ceramics).

Once people start burning down government buildings no more USPS. You'll have to get your supplies through fedex or UPS.

I'm right handed. My drill is on the left and the wrap spool is in my right hand.

And to throw more possibilities to the mix, for regular claptons, fused claptons, etc. my drill is turning counter-clockwise. The only time my drill turns clockwise is for alien decores, tightening screws, and actual drilling...:giggle:

Left for polishing an RDA... right for polishing a tube mod.

And what are those objects pictured?

I never polish any of my vape gear. If I happen to notice a smudge, I might wipe it away. Or I might not. Some of you folks are decidedly anal. Or afflicted with OCD, or SOMETHING.

Those overpriced, wonky-lookin' things either thread the aty and mount to spin on drill OR thread the mech - to spin on the drill.

As much as I paid for some of my mechs, I keep them polished.
For the cheap regulated shit, i'm like you. Just wipe them off.

It's called a mech (or 510) polishing jig (or rig) for polishing a tube mech, and that typically comes with an additional jig for polishing an atomizer. If you google for them you'll see they're fairly common stuff in the vaping world. If the finish on the mod or atomizer is either lacquered or cerakoted, I just wipe them off, whereas the shiny metal ones I try to keep shiny as a mirror by using Cape Cod polishing cloths (they smell like vanilla), and a microfiber towel.

Never seen any use for such; I dislike the smell of either. Both my tube mechs, in my Vapocalypse stash, are stainless steel. Both were about $35-$40.

Andria
The bad smell stays away if you keep it polished all the time, but some people prefer to instead DIY patina it so it never smells. The final steps in the DIY process are to spray-clearcoat the patina multiple times and then polish it only one time after that... there exists a forum thread on here explaining every step, and, the other required ingredients are typically all cheap, like, an old plastic container with a lid, some tying wire, paper towels, a bit of ammonia or vinegar, and a few tablespoons of regular kitchen salt, for example.

I love a patina myself. An aged beauty.

Those *are* very nice looking. Not sure I have the patience, but given that I suffered a HDD crash 2 days ago and spent a whole day staring at my phone just trying to distract myself, and today, pretty much the whole day getting my new HDD and new Winblows setup again... maybe I do have patience for minutiae. :D

Actually it's a no patience needed. Lol just set up a Tupperware container large enough for the mod. Throw some paper towel in the bottom. A dash or two of ammonia. I mix up sea salt and ammonia in a bottle for spritzing. Get the mod spritzed and sprinkle salt on for the blues. Mustard can be applied for yellows and reds. It keeps from being patinaed. While the salt attacks the rest. I do about 24 hours. Rotate and Spritz every couple except while sleeping. Then I just wash off in warm water. It's really easier than it reads typed up.

Ahh I forgot you have to suspend the mod with wire or something. And use vasaline on the threads to keep them clean.

Arthritis/Carpal sucks.. Good luck getting the apropos diagnosis - and service - either way.

Ring finger LEFT now pops up and down with pain making/openiong a fist.. (easier to move it with right hand)

Right middle tries to emulate same-same...

(all this after necrotic arthritis in the right hip and severed-nerve before that in the left pinky)

"It's all in your head. You need more exercise."

I'm right handed so I operate the drill with my right with the spool in my left. For me its the same as when I played a six string many moons ago.

It really is all in your head -- that's where you perceive pain! :giggle:

Yes. Hence the nerve-surgery to pinky - since it was perceiving when I curled the hand around a latch. (You don't get to control WHEN, only HOW). After 15 years with that rotten hip, the HOW got easier with tobacco and beer - I still could not control when it would buckle and collapse under me. On stairs? YOu fall and roll and hit concrete and curse and get up.

"I don't even understand how you could walk" - Badly, you bastard - I just kept going.
"What do you mean you are not taking the pain pills??" - Just what I said: you have no clue about pain. (I am still using those pills. 5 years after surgery).

I think my son could probably relate to the hip pain. He had a torn cartilage in his hip and when he was finally able to get the surgery he needed, it had been that way for so long, now he has bone erosion. He's tried this and that and the other thing for pain, but so far, he's had most pain relief from a combo of gabapentin and that electrode pack thingie, which thankfully you can now buy for a fairly reasonable price without needing a prescription (the electrode thingie, not the gaba -- he's got a scrip for the gaba!). I suspect he may just have to endure it till they feel he's old enough for a full-on hip replacement -- he's just 30, so it might be a while.

I have been told by two orthopedic surgeons to wait until I can’t walk and can’t sleep before I get mine done. Which suits me fine anyway as I’m a giant sissy when it come to getting cut open. (Bone spurs on both sides)

Drill on my left, right handed. But I can switch to drill on the right between wires if I’m going to be at it awhile.
