On Mod Envy's life stream on April 13th, 2018 Joe found a great battery deal on eBay. A vendor was selling groups of 4 Browns for a ridiculous price of $17.99 for 4 batteries. I ordered 7 sets of 4. It looked like a good deal!
4-LG-HG2-18650-HIGH-DRAIN-3000mAh-20A-Rechargeable-Lithium-Ion-Vape-Battery-SMOK/323346927513

I opened them a month ago and I immediately felt thick roughness on the wrap. I had never felt this roughness on a seam before and thought maybe I got ripped off. I charged many of them during 2 days. I still have 6 still in the original box. Anyone else come across this???

Some will show charged but the next morning be completely dead. Others will drain in 10 minutes, some sooner. I bought a new battery charger to see the voltage and many were not reading/charging properly.

I got sick of it this morning and finally wrote the seller. They take returns within 30 days, they will refund in cash and also pay return shipping. Let's see what they say about this. I did remind the seller that I would open a case with PayPal.

Update: The vendor credited me for 12 batteries that did not function/charge properly that I had mentioned in my original email.
I wrote them again yesterday that these were ALL knock-offs, could be dangerous and absolutely re-wraps.
I received my full $126 as of this morning. No argument from them.
Total admission of guilt right there.

Now I need to actually cut open these very rough re-wraps to find out exactly what the hell these are!

Please, Save a couple to send to Mooch.
He will help spread the proper info far and wide.;)

Who was the seller? We definitely need to know so we can avoid them. I only have two eBay vendors I buy from, and still check anything I get from them thoroughly, even though the few I've ordered to date have been authentic.

I still have all of the batteries. I'll try to find the problem ones and send him the ones still in the new box. If I open one up I'll take pics.

For fucks sake. It doesn’t matter who the seller is. DON’T BUY BATTERIES OF EBAY!!! You should know better. o_O

I knew that! But with Joe pushing it, it sounded like such a deal. I received a full refund so I'm shopping for batteries. I know. I know.

My local Craigslist is currently full of $5 counterfeit HG2's. Dissapointed, but not surprised.

Well, when he sees a deal he reports it. No investigation as to credibility. It was my fault for jumping on it, but at least I'll get my money back. I'm going to send the 6 I have left to Mooch. I haven't opened them yet. No more batteries from eBay. I knew that before. I don't even trust atty/tanks. I always have to contact the seller to specifically tell me if they are authentic no matter what the listing says.

eBay is only as safe as the brain purchasing. If you save emails and let it be known your doing so to get them on record saying authentic and they send clone/counterfeit items they will refund you and also the seller can be banned. Pay pal can even do investigations and shut them down. So, as long as you ask them if it's AUTHENTIC PRODUCT, your pretty protected. I only purchase off United States eBay stores for the most part.

Another way is to research the store your buying from. Look at there record. It's a tell tale sign.
