New to SS Mesh....TCR or Wattage?(Freemax Fireluke)

Hey guys...new here and quite inexperienced in terms of using TCR. I recently bought the Freemax Fireluke tank, and am using the kanthal mesh coil that came with the tank. When buying replacements, I could only find the SS316 coils in stock. I have read that you can use SS in wattage mode as I would with kanthal, but am not sure if that is the best option or if TCR is the way to go. I'm currently running the Smok Procolor.

If anyone is familiar with the stainless variation of these coils, let me know how you typically run them:)

Thanks!

Smok isn't very good with TC. The only chips that are is DNA and Yihi. Gene chip is OK in TC

I run the fireluke mesh in stainless in tc mode for 316L and set the watts at 60 and varied temp from 420-450 but it was nice for me at 450. I am using that coil now in a uforce T1 at same parameters with even better results.

Smok works in TC if you know what you are doing. My experience has proved that those who say shit about SMOK Products do not have 1st hand experience. Just my opinion you must remember but based on 1st hand experience.

I agree smok mods do temp control pretty well. The dna and yihi chipsets do allow you more ability to fine tune though. I love my G-2 Priv and think it a great mod.

Try them both and go with what you like. Myself I jumped pretty deep into TC, for me it's to much hassle for too little reward. I love SS, I just don't bother with TC.

I tried my X-Priv in TC mode just to see how it would do for a day. It was on par or even better than my Smoant Battlestar. My Battlestar has a delay before anything happens when pressing the fire button. I'm not big on using the function so I never revisited it.

Yes but no dry hits, coils last longer, less juice, and batteries last longer. Takes almost zero time to set up a new coil. And then we also have ‘replay’ on the new dna75c and 250c chipsets. Greatest thing out there.

You should be able to set your X-Priv to skip the delay. Hard hit. I do not have that mod so will look. With the paranormal you have boost and 11 settings in punch as well as custom curves.

Popped in the first SS coil..started off in wattage mode. Doesn't seem as clean a hit as the kanthal, but I've yet to get into TC yet. Reading up a bit still..any suggestions on settings for TC as a baseline?

Im not using mesh, but running ss only in tc. I usually do small fused claptons(2x28 or 2x30 with 38 outside). TC works really well for me with these type of builds.
Benefits of tc for me: a) battery life is better, b) 0 dryhits, never had one with ss coils c) smoother vape, doesn't get hot, d) putting wattage high on TC mode gives me really good rampup time without vape getting hot, e) chainvaping without the need to check how juicy your wicks are.
If your coils shows best wattage, use the medium on that best wattage range and start around 200-220C, for ss316l usually go for 092. I even use 317l with 092 and no issues with them either.

I have looked this setting on three or four different mods and they have widely varying settings on SS coil txt coefficients and can’t quite figure out how to set it.

Depends on mod, usually memory or TCR and put .00092 for 316l.
