Hey guys was wondering if someone could give me tips on getting the flavor out of my aspire Atlantis. I used a new coil and rinsed it out but anything I put in there tastes like lingering tobacco plus whatever the new juice is. I was using nicks smoked custard plus and now everything I put in this Atlantis tastes like tobaccoish. I took the tank apart completely and soaked every piece in rubbing alcohol for a couple hours and rinsed it out with warm water dried it and all the parts still smell tobbacoy... Any suggestions?

i find soaking stuff in vg overnight gets rid of aftertaste. but i think your issue is with the coil head. if so,by simply replacing it will get rid of the taste. if you feel that would be a waste of a coil then try the vg suggestion. i'm sure others will chime in later

Thanks I don't have any pure vg laying around. I changed the coil head and put the one I was using with the smoked custard aside. It's everything the entire tank and all the parts reak like tobacco I initially rinsed it out replaced the coil and put a new juice and it still strongly tasted like the smoked custard. It's a Max vg juice as well very strong flavor it's good but It's overwhelming. I can't adv it.

hmm, I'm hesitant to say this as it was an on going joke on fb's mod envy but.. try boiling it. seriously.

(it was an on going *cough* joke because vapers started saying it for any issue anyone had and would tell members to boil their mods and batteries - and the members actually would! )

If I get one like that, for a dollar or 2 I just toss it, as I have tried the boil method and rinsing also and not all survived or are meant for this type of cleaning of coils.

I'll try boiling. I wasn't really clear the coil I put aside when I wanna vape the rest of the tobacco juice. It's the tank itself and all the parts that have a strong tobacco linger clinging to them. Drip trip, glass, chimney, bottom piece. All of it. I'm not trying to get the taste out of the coil I switched to a new one and it still tasted all tobacco like.

99% rubbing alcohol from Safeway......then wash with water should take the taste. Also remove the bottom O-Ring and clean out the little hole all the way around. The juice does get all the way up to the top of those. These are the little hole that compress when you put it on....so each on and off they suck up a little juice.

I am not mechanically inclined to take apart the parts to coils and clean individually ME BAD
i'm not sure you should. i mean the tank's parts @Whiskey As for the coil and wick, soak it overnight in vg. then wash it out or vape it dry. i think boiling the coil head will ruin it's wick

I was gonna say the same thing - Pure Grain Alcohol, or a Vodka if you cant find PGA. Cheap Vodka works the best.

VG is so thick. What about a soak in PG?

Vodka....and it's best to find out the type of tobacco flavouring in the juice....if it is naturally extracted...then it is the tannins to blame. I also recommend white vinegar for it's level of acid....after a few warm water rinses there will be no vinegar taste left.

Kinda post jacking a little sorry. But I have an evod type that has the same issue. Soaking in vinegar? Hadn't heard that one before but willing to try it, doesn't eat the coating or anything does it?

I've soaked tanks in baking soda before. Some flavors are almost impossible to get out!

for my Aspire bvc coils I use Everclear Grain Alcohol soaked until most of it is evaporated and then I boil, then dry a more few days. They come out really clean and I just been doing this with about 10 coil replacements in rotation, I got this tip from another person on the forums a few months ago

Citric acid is the enemy of plastic. Vinegar contains none. Think about it...what do most people use to clean drip coffeemakers? Aside from the carafe...everything else is plastic :)

Thanks for all the suggestions overnight in rubbing alcohol, rinsed, then I boiled all the pieces and let it sit a while. That did it. Put some cosmic fog church and a new coil and I'm vaping a banana split now.

If you like banana I recommend these guys. I won some juice off them and chose the banana and it's delicious http://www.apocalypsejuice.com/bananafana/

Not a bad idea the jewelry machine. I'm a recovered alcoholic so I don't want any vodka laying around here lol... I'll check out the juice this one by cosmic fog is interesting supposed to be a banana split but mostly just tastes like banana. Prolly should steep usually tho I'm partial to various custards and fruits and desserts. I never tire of the O.B.

Soak the parts in straight, undiluted dish soap, then boil after rinsing.

My dish soap is lavender. I'm wary of using it to clean a tank.

Looks fairly simple to do. But did I mention yet that I'm extremely lazy.

Remember the last time your dinner was polluted by the taste of lavender?

Provided you rinse your dishes thoroughly; I doubt you've had the displeasure.
