I'm pissed! :headbang:

I consider myself to be a generous person. I was raised in a Christian home. I'll give you the shirt off my back if I have it to give. But I am SICK TO DEATH of these people who continuously support their vaping habit by taking advantage of other more fortunate vapers. It makes me sick to my stomach!

Here's what happened: (I will not mention any names so please do not ask.)
I was "friends" with a fellow vaper. According to this person they have a "disability" and are unable to work (this was never proven true). I felt sorry for them and became friends with them. There were many hangouts and we were friends for quite some time.

I sent this person (on different occasions) 2 mods, 3 boxes full of juice, and even bought them a new tank they wanted. There was one package in return. (A show of good faith I guess). I later found out that this person was also doing this same thing with several other vapers. Telling their poor me story, getting people to feel sorry for them and send them free stuff.

I never unfriended the person, I simply just refused to send them anything else. About a year ago they completely disappeared from the vaping scene. All messages stopped. There has been no contact whatsoever from this person for over a year.

Here's what really pissed me off...
Recently I got a message from this person. No "Hey, how are you?"... "I'm sorry I disappeared"... "How's life?"... NO... instead I get a message with a request for more juice and more bullshit sob story. :blah:

ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME?!?!?!!?
"I hate to ask but... do you have any extra juice laying around?... I'm gonna run out in 2 weeks"
"still have no income... no internet... things have gotten pretty rough"

YES I DO, AND NO I WILL NOT!:mad::mad::mad:
My reply: "Hello! Sorry to hear you're still having bad times. No, I'm sorry. I can't help you this time."

Here's a clever idea... GET A FRICKIN' JOB!! You are a parasite sucking people's generosity dry! Take some responsibility for yourself and get off your lazy ass! :xD::xD::xD::xD: I cannot and will not help someone who won't help themselves!

I totally agree with you and if in similar situation I would’ve done the same way.

In fact what I would do is, expose such <noble souls> so that others should be aware and stop feeding them free stuff.

I would have ignored any message but a simple "hello how are you?". I f that message was followed by a request then I would have given the same answer you did. I'm not one to waste energy on aholes so seldom get mad, easier to shrug it off and move on.

Your reaction is not unwarranted. Having come from extreme poverty and raising out of it I can appreciate the value of assistance when its needed but to prey on the kindness and generosity of others makes a person a scumbag of the lowest form through and through.

In this regard I am less of a nice person knowing that the assistance could have been actually helping someone who really needs the assistance instead of some greedy asshole just being a predator hiding as a lamb. I would out the pile of breathing garbage as a warning to others and a punishment for being a scumbag.

The others that were involved at the time are aware and have also stopped sending anything. I didn't post this for a public stoning... I just wanted to vent and see how others would have handled the situation. I considered this person a friend. :(

I agree with your actions completely. I'm a disabled veteran, and support my own habits with my...wait for it...disability payments! If someone is truly disabled, they can support themselves (usually). I'm always very leary of helping "disabled" people claiming they cannot help themselves. I've been disabled since the war in Afghanistan in 2011, and have managed a home, cars, and family of 5 through it all. Oh; and a vaping hobby/habit/passion! There are always exceptions, but I know those exceptions and can find out if the "disabled" person is full of BS by listening to their story. But if you're not a disabled person and trying to help one, it can be hard for you to spot the BS. Use caution, and if you decide to help; be prepared for it to go South...

Yeah it happens.... After sending someone 3 and even 4 rda's for squonking...... Goons ...
I noticed that others were going through the same issue and I even saw the Goons for sale on Vaping Underground and all of a sudden the guy died and disappeared....... He was given about $300 to $400 in Goons and mods..... I guess shit happens......

I’m rarely moved by pleas for vaping assistance here.
But the stories are interesting.....I’m just waiting for someone to claim that they are raising three and a half kids in a shoebox in the middle of a county road.

Damn! I’m sorry that this happened to you.
I’ve had similar experiences.
I finally told the person that I knew what they were doing; and if they continue to request or berate me. I would be more than happy to call them out it public.

Your response was more than reasonable; imho it was far too nice.

What’s bad is when you help someone and they come to expect it, then they get pissed when you can’t. This is help with anything, not just vaping related. Has ended a couple “friendships” for me, people mistake kindness for weakness and try to take advantage.
Ended 'friendships' that apparently were not worth having anyway.

Ah, don't even get me started...I'm a pretty generous person as well who's been "mooched" plenty (a couple right here on this forum), but you know what? It doesn't change your heart, but it does expose them for what they really are - worthless bums. I have no regrets for trying to be a good person. After it's all said and done, I'm still a good person with genuine intentions, and so are you. Eventually they'll expose themselves to the world and no one will give them help of any sort. Karma is indeed a be-otch....

I think you were way out of line. Did you ever stop to think that perhaps you didn’t do enough the first few go arounds? Yeah, bet you didn’t.

:p
Yeah... if I had sent them 1000mls instead of only 500 they might still have some huh? :D

Ya know, that's just it! I also have a disability. But I don't use it to con people into sending me stuff. I work, from home, cause that's what I'm able to do. I don't use it as a crutch and excuse for not being able to work. I went and sought out a job I could do from home within my limits.

Oh god.... Things are rough and have contemplated in suicide as my only way out......

You guys heard it before... These guys are on top of their game..... And a bunch of suckers fall for it...... Specially me ..... But now the people that really need help are the ones who don't get help......

There has to be some form of lie detector testing or something......

How did you know about my situation? Can you send me some mods and juice? I also need coils, batteries and cotton. The little ones need to quit smoking before they get back to elementary school.

I considered this person a friend. :(

Reminds me of a "Friend"I made in the UK who stole from me after over a year of being daily chat buddies. I won a contest on Social Media and when they would not ship to the US he offered to receive it and ship to me. Could not provide a tracking number which they blamed on being fucked up from their life. Then all of a sudden gone from Social Media and when contacted met with the usual BS you get from thieves. Some Pieces of shit will do anything for Free Vape Gear. What bothers me the most, like you @Countrypami is I considered this person a friend and that hurts the most.

What kills me is when I see people claiming they can't afford to vape. Hah, right, and somehow you afford SMOKING??? Which costs TEN TIMES MORE than vaping??? Go on, pull the other one! Idiots.

I like the morons that can't afford to put food in their fridge (or apparently afford enough electricity to run both their fridge and AC), but still manage a pack a day habit...with a new baby in tow  Fortunately, that's just my wife's extended family :D

Probably just ignore, block the person, and move on. I understand it hurts, but IMHO you're better off treating yourself to a nice dinner and enjoying the evening than sitting and stewing about some asshole who took advantage of your friendship and generosity.
Yeah, I should. I just think it takes a lot of gall to not speak to someone for over a year and then completely out of the blue ask them for a handout.

I'm not stewing too much, right now I'm enjoying a Burt Reynolds marathon... Just finished Best Little Whorehouse in Tx and Smokey and the Bandit 1 is on deck. :)

Well, I have to say, when I was a smoker, I'd pay for smokes before food ANY DAMN DAY OF THE WEEK. But we always afforded electricity, because how would I stay online without it? ;) :D And always had food for our son, even if the mate and I ate beans or PBJs.

But claiming to not be able to afford vaping is simply the stupidest thing I've ever heard -- the very first month I vaped, still smoking though the amount was going down STEADILY... suddenly I had all this money for all this shiny new vape stuff... and I'm like, where the hell is all this money coming from? OHHH... I'm not spending $6 every fucking day to smoke! And sure, I bought ejuice then, had no farking clue about DIY nor any of the equipment or makings... but just as soon as I saw the POTENTIAL savings of vaping... man, I was HOT to hurry up and bring my smoking down to ZERO. I'd been searching fruitlessly for years for some way not to need to spend that money on coffin nails, and suddenly, I found a way! Nevermind the health stuff, or the better smell stuff, I COULD SAVE MONEY!!!! Music to a tightwad's ears!!!!!!!!! :giggle:

I NEVER give a single thing to beggars on the internet - period

But, I have given away hundreds of dollars of gear and/or juice to people I know are hurting. Not one ever asked for a single thing or even hinted.

That's how I know its going to a good cause :)

I'm the same way. I do a ton of piffing, I just never talk about it cuz I don't do it for the glory. It's in my nature to help someone in need. But the person I'm talking about was a longtime member of the community. Everybody liked them. We chatted every day. I didn't consider this person an internet stranger.

You totally went the wrong way with this one.

I would have been like: "Sure, i'll send it right out"

Then I would have found the old 2014 black (used to be clear) eliquid that I was going to throw away and send that.

You know, that shit you find in your closet boxed up along with your old vamo and itaste mvp?:giggle:

Your "friend" would stop asking after that.:D

“Wise as serpents, harmless as doves” comes to mind.

The generosity of Christ had its limits, to my way of thinking. “Turn the other cheek,” yes. But drawing a line in the sand makes sense too.

I defer to those more righteous than I for the full answer. I applaud your giving nature, and support your careful scrutiny as well.

I was also raised in a good Christian home. I am grown up now but I still have my morals and I'm a worker also. I don't take hand outs from the government what I have I earned the hard way. And I sleep good at night knowing that I have a job and I'm not out here scamming people or asking for a hand out. Now there have been times that I needed a little money but I always paid it back and offered interest but this person was kind enough not to take any extra (says alot about this person), my dad. I'm kind hearted and I will admit a little gullible at times. If an individual is trying and fall short then I'll be the 1st one to offer some kind of help. Iv actually helped more people than I should have and for that iv been burned alot, have I learned my lesson? Always listen to your gut if you think for one sec that something isn't right then you better back away. I'm the kind of person that if I borrow anything I always try to offer that person extra when it's time to pay. Just not to long ago my son and his papaw went to Dollywood dad took with him an extra ticket and just gave it away to a stranger so they wouldn't have to pay. That's the kind of family I'm from. I'm not saying that I'm special nor am I trying to put myself on a pedestal or make anyone feel bad. Im just saying being honest and kind to others is a good thing and it just makes the soul feel good. I also believe in karma it's God's way of making you pay for your wrong doings. So be careful how you treat people because if you do someone wrong it will catch up to you and I promise it won't be fun. OP I think you done a good thing but don't let that discourage you from, helping others, just BE CAREFUL!

We all need a little help from time to time, no shame in that! :)

Dollywood... Mom took us there as kids. I'm a huge country fan (In case you couldn't tell by my name ;) ) I loved it! I've always wanted to go there again. Thank goodness it didn't burn down in the fires last year!

Full blooded redneck right here, lol. Yeah that fire was devastating. Dolly Parton helped the people that was affected by the fire by giving the victims money. I never liked Dollys style but I really admire her as a person her heart is big. I live pretty close to Dollywood and as a kid my parents took me there alot, kinda got burnt out on going there to be honest. It was years before I ever wanted to go back.
