I just got one of THESE and would be interested in a discussion if anybody else does too. I started vaping in March, but have 20 years of professional computer experience and have picked up ALOT since then.

It seems a really good mod, but there are some lingering questions.

More when I get a chance.

It doesn't have to be about better, the mod has to function good and it's pretty similar with a new chip ! And is also priced good.
I guess I should be clearer shouldn't I?

I bought it because I thought it was alot better than other much less expensive mainstream mods. Like the Innokin Proton I was looking at which is 30 dollars cheaper.. If it's not 30 bucks better I would have gotten the Proton.

The YIHI mods with the better chips are clearly better than mainstream mods. TC seems weak on this mod, but that could be because I have a really low resistance build in it. (.11 ohms SS316L) That's the only build I've tried so far.

Like I say, I'm still playing with it.

Don't get me wrong it's a nice mod overall, but it needs to be much nicer than even my Cylon which was also 30 bucks cheaper and a great mod, for me to really be happy. My jury is still out.

I hope all that made sense. :treadmill:

YOU make me spend too much money dude. My wife hates you for this and I love you for this

If you have the cash get the Yihi..... If not get The Cylon...... The Cylon is the best $50 bucks I ever spent on any Vape gear........

Nothing like a Yihi.....Burger and tots....

I’m also eyeing this one as it’s on sale and available for around $58.
Was originally planning for Cylon for ~$49 but for a few more I’m getting a yihi chipset.
What do say @MannyScoot?

That's a gift for that Yihi.... It will be at over $150 before Christmas..... So make it an early Christmas bash.....

G class is still way out of my budget. Maybe next year I’ll gift it to myself on my birthday
For now pulling trigger for gtrs

Yeah... I have seen good reviews on the mod...... It's a good one..... I haven't used it, so I can't personally comment on it's performance.. but a new Yihi for $49.00 bucks it's a good deal....

As long as it's not pink.......

I swapped attys and put the .11 build (Smok Prince with RBA section) on my Cylon and put the Bonza with the .37 build (both of course 316L) on the VK530 and the low build is weak on the Cylon too. Also, the VK530 punches hard with the higher build like the Cylon did. Both devices are reading the resistances within a hundredth of an ohm of each other and the builds glow (for SS) perfectly even on both.

I am no pro and have less than a year under my belt with all this, but I do think I have a general handle on how the electronics work and I can cobble together a decent set of coils.

I didn't know when I ordered the VK530 that the SX530 (no J)(AND the SX520 found in other less expensive mods from other companies) was kinda like the Celeron of YIHI processors. Pointed at the lowER end market. I'm told it doesn't have16 bit resistance sampling and the PWM frequency is supposed to be lower too.(for example) I'm TOLD this by a couple guys who REALLY sound like they know what they're talking about. I can't however find anything online with detailed enough information to confirm it for myself. The Spec sheets at the YHI site show the two chip families as being nearly identical as far as they report, which doesn't include resistance sampling or PWM frequency both of which hypothetically effect TC alot..

What it comes down to for me is this:
If it doesn't perform much better than other midrange devices and costs significantly more, there's no reason to buy it and I wish I would have saved 30 bucks and gotten the Proton. I don't have much money.

Still learning and also not having sophisticated ways to directly test these things like Daniel does (DJLSB Vapes), who doesn't have one yet, and also being impatient, I'm trying to see what I can find out on my own and maybe with some input from others here.
Am I WAAAAY overthinking this? Probably, but I've been into computers for years and can't help it.

Well you are understanding why we need power...... I built a dual coil SS 316 L and the coils are 4 cores..... The pair is ohming at .04

A mod has difficulty firing them because of the resistance..... The Yihi g class fires them at 165 watts..... But now can the batteries handle it..... ?

Well the Sony vtc 5a are getting hit with a 65 amp pull..... So I have to use the Lipo 4s because it can handle 100 amps.....

So learning ohms law is another part of vaping...... Someone should make a thread on Vaping Undergfound something like a Vaping Academy......

I'm glad to see you getting into the technical part of vaping...... Most people put a tank on and Vape that shit.....

Well batteries are a great point that I boneheadedly forgot to mention. :headbang:

I ordered a pair of Samsung 2Os,s because Mooch says they are legitimate 30 amp 18650's albeit at 2000mah. I follow his work fastidiously and have watched all his "Minding Your Mahs" Youtube videos numerous times each. I use those batteries for higher current requirements which I did in the VK530 with the .11 build. Though I topped out at 100 watts and 500f which I should probably try higher wattage at that resistance shouldn't I? I wouldn't think with a YIHI based mod I should have to manually adjust the TCR, but maybe. With the 2nd version of the firmware, the Cylon does 316L with it's default TCR.

My Procolor and X-Priv actually do passable TC with a bit of TCR twiddling with 316L

If I'm reading and hearing Mooch correctly, with regulated mods running dual batteries, the current draw can be divided by the number of batteries. Ohm's law dictates that a .11 ohm build at 100 watts should pull a hair over 30 amps or 15 amps then from each battery. Even the freshly charged pair of Sony VTC5a's, which I got from https://liionwholesale.com (on Mooch's recommendation), should be able to handle that. No? That's a question. Not a correction btw.

Though as I say, I was running brand new and fully charged (good external charger) Samsung 20s,s in the VK530 rated by Mooch at 30 amps each. Interestingly, in VWM, both mods kicked out 100 watts at ,11 with that build just fine with either batteries. I have 6 good pairs of VTC5a,s, a pair of LG HG2,s, a pair of Samsung 20s;s and a single 20s I use in my ohm reader for firing builds because of the higher current capability. All bought from good Mooch recommenced sites and all passing authenticity best I can tell.

How did I get started with all this? It was supposed to be inexpensive, Oh yeah. This is all my niece's fault. I really do love all this crap though. I spend as much time playing around with all of it as I do actually vaping.

I have two Cylons (0ne of each color), an X-Priv, a Procolor (first mod) and now this Vsticking VK530.

A Big Baby Beast (came with the procolor)
3 princes (RBA deck which is perty dern good actually)
A Valaryian. Great sub ohm
A Themis. Is awesome with the right build and wicking.
A Bonza. Reputation speaks for itself
A Drop. Reputation speaks for itself
A Pharaoh drpper Good single coil vape, bit it's a pain to get your liquid into. (10 bucks)
A Sense Heracles RTA2. That thing is REALLY awesome! (6 bucks)
4 Ijoy Limitless XL,s. The sub ohm "chip" coils are great and the RBA decks are too, once you get the build and wicking down so it doesn't leak. (6 bucks apiece)
A Mason Dumptank 30mm RTA. 6 bucks, but one of the posts stripped out the first time I tried to build on it. VERY disappointing.
A Mason Dumptank 40mm RTA An absolute monster that I haven't done anything with yet. (7 bucks)

There's a local Detroit chain here that has great bargain/clearance bins.

Ok

Here's what it is.

I did not know that on YIHI devices it is the joules setting that directly controls the power in TC mode.

That's what's been killin me, jist KILLIN me this whole time. :gaah:

I could not understand why I was getting this emaciated vape on this mod. Now I think I'm on the right track.

After all you buy a YIHI box for the TC right? I mean plenty of other mid range mods will do power mode quite admirably.

Unless you don't really use TC mode ,which of course there's notihng wrong with. I hope I didn't come off that way.

After reading around these forums some more, and not appearing to have the money limitations I have ( :) ), I think you would love this mod Manny.

It would have been really groovy of them had they included some release notes indicating all the changes in the new firmware. Judging by the version number, one would think it was a minor incremental upgrade, but enabling two major previously unavailable PC interface options seems pretty major.

Efun.top has it for $47 if their shipping time is not an issue with you.
I believe you can use code CND08 on top of that.

I accidentally ordered the wrong finish when I got mine. I wanted the camo because it was the one I disliked least of the three that were then available. They have them in Black now too, which I would have picked for sure if it would have been available a few weeks ago.
