We had a major plumbing explosion in the house due to a 16 inch critter that found its way in. 8 inch x 3 inch body and 8 inch tail. Get your ruler out and look at 8 inches. It chewed through PVC, the joints and some other pipes. The tub was filled with water and when it drained it flooded the kitchen and both bathrooms. I mean flood. The insurance company doesn't cover plumbing.

We sincerely pray for your help. Every piece of hardware: mods, mechs, my Squid collection, tanks/attys and accessories including brand new 21700 40T cells never used.
Every penny goes to the plumber.
Prices are dirt cheap. I took prices from things that were already on sale plus reduced them again.
Think twice if you the need to negotiate. I'm trying to pay my plumber - at a severe LOSS. PayPal F&F or G&S is fine. I need your real name, screen name & list of items.

Home owners Insurance covers plumbing. Check your policy.
Apparently not Liberty Mutual. I'll go over the small writing tonight. I thought they no longer do remediation for water damage due to the rise in stachybotrys?

Although Insurance is different due to all the Natural Disasters and requirements for Flood Insurance I do not believe problems from water damage due to plumbing or other water in the home are affected.

I am an insurance adjuster. The problem is the damage was done by an animal. Policy generally only pays for the clean up only if it was in the dwelling. Will not pay to repair.

The 'animal' was never brought up. They called it a bathsomething overflow? Both bathrooms get a makeover but even though the kitchen cabinets got soaked at the bottom, they are making us leave them. Under the assumption I would get new vinyl flooring in the kitchen AND adjoining dining room, the movers came and took everything. The fridge an freezer are in the living room with everything they put there.

Try and do some digging, Because when we flooded due to a hot water heater blowing, they had to replace everything due to a possible mold issue. They also had to have an inspector come after they got rid of bad stuff and water to verify there was no sign of moisture and/or mold. I remember having to suffer through the noise of huge industrial fans blowing for like 2 days. Don't let the insurance company give you the run around. Sure, maybe they don't have to take care of it all, but try and see if you can research it and verify so you know for sure. Good Luck. I know the pain all to well of having a house flood. I was lucky, they replaced all the flooring and carpeting, baseboards etc etc. Anywhere water had touched.

Thank you. Seems our adjuster is playing like we're dumb. I'll certainly check it out and bring it to his attention. We haven't received nor will we cash the check.

Thank youvery much, @AnkouSitan.

I called for the Adjuster's Superior. After reading the reason/description of the water issue, he's way off! He said to use the same cabinets that were soaked. The other cabinet baseboards were wet also. And they won't replace the vinyl floor. I mentioned the cabinets (we have a galley kitchen) on the other side that were wet as well. He said, "Well. Just keep an eye on it and if they show discolor or warping, call us back." WTF?

I'll call the plumber first. I'm so exhausted. And they haven't even't pulled my bathtub out yet. They demo'd everything else in there.

Th check they sent is pitiful. I'm not cashing it.

That must have been one heavily soaked home! With the help of some of you and one that happens to be an Insurance Adjuster, I've checked into it further. There is definitely wrong with the Adjusters assessment. I've got the plumber and contractor working on it. The check they sent to me was insulting. We're not going further until we get exact numbers from the plumber and contractor. Either I or the plumber will call his superior.

You can always contact the insurance company and have them review the adjusters numbers.. according to your repair estimates..... The adjuster will always low-ball your claim......

With Insurance Adjusters and initial estimate you do what is know as a Supplement, Original Damage to my truck was $400 and my Body Shop guy called the adjuster down to go over the truck again. Bottom line was over $1,400. That is the game they play to save money.

Got a got a itemized copy of that the plumber did and how much it cost. Per the Adjuster they are reimbursing the plumber for a few things One is $2000, witch should go to u.

I'm waiting on itemization (remodeler) on what should be covered.

Once I have both, I will invite the Adjuster's Superior to come and look for him self. This should a Category 3 as far as the plumber and the builder.

Who is "u"?

Hard to comprehend what you posted.
Sorry about that, Steve.

My sister has a great idea. She disputes everything. Get 3 plumbing estimates, 3 construction estimates and have the Adjuster's Superior come and take a second look. The previous hardly looked at anything and threw HVAC. WTF.

Once the Supervisor Adjuster looks and writes it here in my home. If it isn't good enough (aside the $4600) they gave us. Check NOT cashed. I'll take him to court and tell him I'm done my due diligence, their estimate is nowhere close to what is should be and he'll have to pay his attorney and my attorney fees. My sister said they'll back stroke - a lot. We estimate based on his figures, $15,000 and $7,500 for the plumber.

Sorry to ramble.

That's our intention. I have the Adjustors Supervisor's Supervisor on the hook. He left me a message. We'll have him out next week before the contractor returns to finish. We could have used any contractor, but these guys know the house. Besides, one promised me a new vanity. I'm going to hold him to it.
