Hey guys! Haven’t posted in a while cause I’ve been smoking but I’m over it. I smoked 14 stinkies today have been smoking a half pack to pack for the last 3-4 years. I’m 23. Copd runs in my family and I’m quite scared of it. I want to stop smoking not even s morning stinkie. I read an article about dual using. And I have been doing that for a year or two. Am I okay to vape now? If I don’t smoke anymore cigs today am I doing more damage?

If you STOP punching yourself in the face with brass knuckles, you WILL NOT do more damage to yourself.

Think about it in those terms and you may do well young padawan.

Cigarettes are almost 100% likely to cause illness or death. That is a certified and verifiable likely outcome.

Vaping on the other hand is 95% safer than smoking

In densely populated areas, air pollution is equivalent to smoking anywhere from .5 cigarettes to 63 cigarettes per day.

Do the math.

Giving up smokes is a win period. All I can tell you is I feel much healthier since I quit smoking and started vaping exclusively.

And dual using is also not the worst possible thing to do, especially if it leads you to smoke less and less and then ultimately quit. At the very WORST, dual using means you smoke less than if you didn't vape at all. And a LOT of vapers transition to vaping gradually, by dual using, until the smoking just goes away because vaping is so much better and cheaper.

Don't believe all that rot that the smoke-nazis try to make people believe -- the ONLY truthful thing that they've ever said is "smoking is bad for you." Oh, and also -- "smoking smells bad" -- both the smoke itself and the person doing it.

I dual-used for three years before I could finally quit cigarettes for good. Will be smoke-free for three years this January

Every cigarette you don't smoke is a victory - so don't give up and just smoke.

Do both if you must - but vape instead whenever you can

One trick I used is when I realized I'd vape more than smoke if I vaped first in the morning instead of lighting up - it triggered something in my brain to urge me to vape instead of smoke

So don't beat yourself up if you find yourself lighting up, try taking a vape first

If you go outside to smoke, try going outside to vape - sometimes you may find that the rituals of smoking are what you miss as much as the actual cigarette

Great advice. I always smoked outdoors, and everytime I got on the phone, well I just HAD TO smoke... so for some months after switching to vaping, I'd feel the need to gio outside everytime I got on the phone -- had no interest in smokiing, but I really needed the usual ritual or it just didn't feel right. Till it got to be July and 90-something degrees outside, and I was like, oh hell no, I'm staying in my nice cool house! :giggle:
