Storing coils

Hey guys, is it safe to store Kanthal coils with a wet wick? I’ve got it set up the way I like it and figured I could save time and skip the re-wick if I have the same flavour. Will they rust?

Thanks,

Izanagi

I pick up a tank that I wicked (6) months ago and hit that shit......

I haven't seen rust develop........

And the flavor changes and also the color..... But WTF

But this rust issue is something that will have to be tested in an FDA laboratory to be certain.........ha ha

If you use stainless wire it will not rust - but juice starts to taste bad after a week or so of sitting - just rewick it

Man, sometimes I will leave a Kanthal coil wet for weeks and use it. Also known to leave vapes at friends houses and then immediately start vaping them when reunited. If Kanthal rusts, I am just lucky since its never happened to me (that I can remember).

The whole point of kanthal is to be usable in moist environments

I've never seen kanthal rust, but I've seen wicks turn red after a couple days - not rust, but something weird for sure

Depends on what's in your e-juice - and how humid it is - wet wicks will soak up humidity over time without use and sort of fizzle and spit for a few hits

There has to be a new line of flavors in there for sure.

Burnt hair and baby diaper? I can't believe nobody's done it yet. :D
Yeah I have made some funky e-juice and then I look at the bottle and say well I'm not wasting 250ml of juice......

Three weeks later I get the balls to try and WTF it taste awesome........

But three weeks of it sitting in an RTA...? I just have flashbacks to trying the dark-dark-dark red cherry flavor that had been in my vivi nova nova for 6 months...it hurt lol

From my experience it tastes dull or crappy the first few pulls. Once the tank starts rewicking is when decent flavor comes back. I usually try not to let tanks sit around that long. If I notice one thats been sitting for a while I'll give it some attention. Sometimes it's dull flavor, sometimes it's fine.

I’ve had some VCT sitting in my talk for months and vaped that shit. It changed colour, I thought it was the coils rusting but it wasn’t. Maybe it was just the juice steeping over time. Tasted fine.
