So got a profile rda. Installed mesh and cotton from the provided cotton strips that come with the rda. That shit is super thick. Seems I'll have issues squonking I think. Maybe I put too much cotton in. I'm not sure. When I go-to squonk there's no air bubbles upon release if the bottle. So I assume juice won't make it to the top either. Any help would be appreciated. Here's a pic of what I'm working with.

Edit. When I squonk I can see the juice around the edges where the cotton isn't sitting. So I assume it's juicing

Yeah I counted ten seconds and I could tell it was wicking. Just not used to no air bubbles coming back in the bottle. Lol

Half the time my bottle stays pressed in ...haha

Definitely know when it’s not saturated on here though goes a little like this :giggle:

I know what you are talking about. I think it's trying to suck back some of the juice in the wick when it's very saturated.
It doesn't do it all the time but sometimes it does.
All I know is, Rayon is a shit ton better In these just as @jwill said.
Been using it for around 10 days now and it still works as good as when I first built it.

I use the regular cotton sheets, but I trim the hell out of it.
I cut it as close to the mesh as I can.
It does take a longer for me to squonk it than a normal rda; but, it also doesn’t appear to need to be squinted as often.
-I tried rayon: it worked well, but rayon gives me a funny taste. Like licking a used popsicle stick.

I tried the push and hold method mention above to get it to wick better... lol flooded the atty. I'll have to try some rayon to see the difference in wicking. I've been using native wicks. Works well in all other rda's I have. I've never tried rayon but will try it for this one.

I to am a rayon user. You could thin the tails out a little bit but it does take a ton of wicking. It also lasts forever, I haven’t rewicked in about a month. I’m lazy with rewicking/rebuilding but it still tastes as good as it did day one. Also rayon is super cheap so no worries using a shit ton of it.

This may sound like a noob question (lol i guess it is since I've never used it) is there any place in particular to get rayon... as in quality of material?

I bought mine from Amazon but you gotta read the details because the cotton and rayon come in identical boxes. Make sure it says rayon in the description. 40 foot was like $5-$6 a box.

Ok I found a box of 500ft which will last several thousand vapers several years. I couldn’t find the box of 40ft I got but you may have better luck than me. Anyway here’s the link

Or better yet just use firebird’s link above, looks cheaper and they also sell a 3# box which would last several thousand vapers several thousand years.

How is the vape compared to a regular rda? I find a mesh sub ohm tank to be quite a bit dryer, makes my mouth dry as well. I've had a profile in my fastech cart for while, just can't pull the trigger.

Jai Haze had the same comment about the profile, don't care for him most the time cause he's kind of an ass but that's what's kept me from ordering....

Its no different than any other RDA that I can tell. Ive been using regular coils on it for a minute since I havent ordered any mesh to replace the others. It also works fine like that and Jai Haze is a douche.

I prefer mesh both for ease of building and for the flavor it produces. I don’t find it to be dry, seems like the juice would be more responsible for that then the coil but that’s just one man’s opinion. However I find that one man to be very intelligent, knowledgeable, good looking, ripped as hell and just one sexy motherfucker. So my advice to y’all....keep your mother’s away from him.:vino::blowkiss:

Well....Guess I just gotta hit that checkout button then. Damn it. Jai Douche's review of the profile really was a joke, it reminded me of why I skip his reviews.

Jai Haze is a moron. Check out Mike Vapes’ review where he compares Wotofo mesh to OFRF NexMesh. Pretty informative.

I’ve found that I’m having a hard time wicking it with cotton bacon or native wicks, I’m waiting on an order of organic cotton, hopefully it’ll be easer to get the thickness right. I’ve been getting dry spots on the mesh and a burnt taste.

What’s the deal with the OFRF mesh? They are selling it for like $10 for 10 and the wotofo’s mesh is like $4. Has anyone used the OFRF mesh? Seems to be pretty much the same thing with a .05ohm difference which isn’t much and they are trying to sell for more then double the price. Seems kinda silly, I thought maybe it was SS but no it’s kanthal so I’m a bit confused on the huge price difference. Shoulda made their mesh out of SS and for $5 tops. Don’t see why any1 would buy it for $10. Am I missing something here?

Yeah after what I’ve read here on using SS mesh in the profile, it seems SS mesh is the more versatile, cost effective way to go.

The only benefit of the OFRF mesh seems to be as you said a small resistance difference so you can hit it with a higher wattage and have a warmer vape.

I got mine used from another member. He sent me a sheet of SS mesh. Not sure where he got it at though

What cotton are you using now? I got my profile yesterday and I almost literally pulled the mesh out (I could feel it move in spite of being cranked tight) trying to get that wad through to wick it. I redid it with a large, but not as large cotton bacon wick and it's much better.

I use the wotofo cotton until I run out. I cut some of it off before installing to thin it out. What I did was mount one side then put the cotton in then mount the other side. Kind of a bitch but easier than shove the cotton through

That’s how I wick my profile as well, much easier then trying to pull it through. It’s pretty easy, just roll the wicking tight and have the mesh bent so it will slide right in the other clamp. Once you get the hang of it it’s really easy. It reminds me of rolling a joint, similar process.

The Wotofo cotton for this RDA is too big.

At first I thought:

"Well, they did make the thing after all, they must know what size to make the cotton.."

No. It's too thick.

I did my own with cotton bacon and no more dry hits on the second pull and wicks fine. The original cotton drank up at least 2 or 4 mils of juice and still wicked like crap for me.

I also cut a chisel shape across the bottom the wick with the short side facing the deck. In other words, chiseled the bottom while it was hanging out of the mesh before tucking it in.

This is good to know. Waiting on a big ol bag of organic cotton that oughta come in some time next week. I found the Wotofo cotton bolt over packed too. Dangerously easy to get dry hits with that much cotton.

Maybe the one I got was bigger than normal or something. All I know is that it was a wrestling match to get that thing inside the mesh. It's too thick to either tear or fit through.

The cotton bacon wick I made was still thick and snug though. Mesh does have to be wicked tightly, but that was ridiculous.

I stopped at 3. Saw this rumor the other day, and wouldn't be surprised at a V2 later this year either.

Yeah, I didn't care for the mesh with all of that cotton. Check on youtube for different tutorials on how to trim to cotton on the profile. I prefer a big fat beefy parallelIMG_0079.jpg

So I’ve built a few times with mesh and organic cotton. I’ve found I get just the right amount of cotton when I use a full sheet with the outer layers peeled off. It’s very snug, there’s no dry spots, but the juice still flows well, and the flavour is good.

Edit- shoulda read all the posts above.

MFS has em for cheap. I had to get one to try. They have 20% off coils/wire/mesh so I ordered the after market strips or whatever...ORF nexmesh.

It would have been here today except there's no mail today. Another reason I ordered one is, I'm having success with my Themis Mesh deck. I'm using mesh from a Vandy Vape roll and it works way better than Digiflavor. Or maybe I'm just wicking it right now. Can't wait to try the Profile. A month ago I had zero interest in ANY RDAs. Now I want to try a bunch.

I posted this somewhere on one of our several profile threads....
Bought 2 rda's while waiting on my profile. Complete waste. Profile stopped all others dead in their tracks. Ordered more profiles.

Interesting.

What grade of mesh is the Tandy Tape one? Is it SS or A1?

I didn’t care much for Andy Ape’s products until I got a Pulse X. That thing is a beauty.
