I thought if was funny because its not a beginner RTA because you have to build the coils but all RTAs you have to build the coils. That wasn't a disclaim that was the whole review.

I don't remember mine leaking until I combed out cotton a little so I'll try rewicking it. I had it a couple of days before combing out I didn't notice any juice under it.

Could be a bad early batch?

I ordred the gold one from fasttech a week ago and when i found this topic i asked if they would solve this problem as it will happen to me also.

Got reply that they already know about this issue and that its fixed and they checked that before they sent it. And that i had nothing to worry about, but if i had any problem i should just send them a video and they would take care of it.

I take it that they got another batch or something as i was specific its the new Kylin V2 and i also sent links to this forum.

Will arrive any day by now so i will update you all if its leaking or not.

I cant find any other information about leaking other than this forum and some comments on vandyvape social media but they dont reply anyone there.

Thanks for stopping by. Looks like renaming the thread helped at least one person have a successful Google search.

My replacement should be here tomorrow. I'm not hopeful.

Be interesting to see if other colours have the issue (haven’t seen anyone with gold in in here so far) sometimes it can be a specific colour that has an issue depending on which line assembles it

Good luck and let us know mate :)

Got my replacement and am vaping it now. Man do I love the vape off this tank. I really hope it doesn't leak.

Only been vaping it for a few minutes. I'll update if anything happens.

Hope the new one is working out.

I think VV knows there's a prob with at least some. I sent them a question about if they knew about or had others saying it leaks. Here's the response from VV USA support/warranty:
"For the time being I am still unaware as to the cause of any of the leaks that have been reported to me. I am sending a few Kylin 2 back to the manufacturer at the end of the week so hopefully I will have a better idea as to why there is leaking in these units sooner rather than later!"

Ha! So we're not crazy!

I've filled the tank 3 times now with no leaking. My first kylin V2 lasted a week before it went poop.

Oh and the airflow lines up on this one.

Looks more and more like a colour batch issue

I remember Wotofo had a problem with the black warrior RDA when they first released it, the posts were painted and it affected the resistance readings for consumers ....they fixed it and replaced all the decks to SS

Bet it’s going to be something stupid like over tightening the positive pin in assembly and affecting the seating/seal of the plastic parts

Only one I can think of is the Ijoy exo rta, mods wouldnt read the coils.

On this gold one, the airflow ring is really tight. It hurts my fingers to try and turn it when it's on a mod. I'm gonna fill the tank without closing the airflow. I think it'll be fine.

Yeah that exo was another with the black version pretty sure there was something soldered inside the base causing it to short at the time @bobnat probably remembers this one and he fixed his i think

I built new coils for mine. I don't think I like the ni80 wire. Same build as what comes with atty just SS316L instead. Still leaking and I think it coming from the corners of the pocket for the wicks.

I still have a couple weeks before my 45 day return ends, so after giving it a rest for a few days I tackled it again.
Changed coil positions to away from side AF, to the middle>close w/o touching, and a bit higher. Thinned tails up closer to coils.
Much better. Still a little wetness under base but no ring or like before.
I think it can stand a little more wick in the ports so I'll try that.

I had the same issue, did countless coils (lower/higher/bigger/smaller) and wicks (less/more cotton, shorter/longer tails) and eventually after half a tank or less I would find liquid around the airflow and the base. I finally gave up and returned it to VaporDNA.
I figured the issue is that the juice condenses on the airflow post and the U shape acts as a ramp where it start going down the airflow holes at the bottom below the coil. You can see that the juice collects on top of the airflow posts. They should have raised the bottom airflow holes slightly to divert the juice to the wicks.
VaporDNA is testing it and if they don't see the leak they will charge a 15% restocking fee.. which is fine since it would have eventually leaked into the mod. What a disappointment!
@slvr530i Was yours a color other than SS or Gold?

After a day of heavy, high wattage use, I get juice around the base and underneath, but that's just from condensation. Still no leaking on my new one.

30 minutes ago I cleaned off my mod, put the tank on and filled it up with the airflow wide open. I just took the tank off and everything is still dry.

I'm getting closer to return date. I thought about changing from black to ss, but just getting a diff black one might have the same chance.
As far as coil position, I don't think that's the issue. I'd like to think it's me and I need to wick it differently but I've wicked it differently probably 8 times or more. Hell, if I can wick the Mini w/o any seep or leak, this one shouldn't be that finicky.
From looking at your pics, I've tried that, but if there's anything you can add, I'm all ears.

If it doesn't work out in the next couple days, I'm just refunding it and demanding they have no right to keep 15% since I do have a little proof from VV that at least some must have an issue. That 15% makes me wonder how VaporDNA test. They would have to build it and vape it, I would think.

Not sure if i've mentioned it but I thin out the tails quite a bit and then cut the outside edges off. I try not to let the tails reach the bottom of the wick ports.

I wouldn't put too much faith in them testing it either. It'd have to be wicked the same and they'd have to use the same color tank which they probably aren't thinking about.

Yeah, I've done that wicking. I like the vape enough and have a lil more time, so I'll give it one more effort but I have no faith at his point.

I figure the 15% is just a standard charge for them, probably even if they build/vape this particular one. That's why I'll include all the documentation I can.

If you look in the wicking port along the corners there is a seam I think that is wear the problem lies so no matter how you wick it its still going to have leakage.

It's going back today. I decided to exchange, and hope, because if it still has an issue I'll have to go to VV because my 45 days will be up. Yours still ok it sounds~

@Mykreign had an air flow alignment problem with his matt black and it leaked. Got a gold one and doing well last I heard.
Mine was matt black and I got a refund. And, a glutton for punishment that I am, I ordered another from a diff vendor. matt black again -
Another member in this thread had his gunmetal leak and I believe they said they were sending it back for refund.

I'm gambling, up to you if you want to or not. I've seen a couple other peeps reports on the web of the same type seeping/leaking.

I got the gunmetal version I didn't send it back I'm waiting to see what vandy vape does. I bought 8 vandy vape atomizers and 2 mods last year I'm not buying anything from them ever again if they don't make an effort to fix this.

Thanks Mykreign did the replacement one leak ?
Vendor I bought it from claims it’s a wicking issue I don’t believe it is, I have written to VV lets see if they reply
There is a post on their Facebook page from one guy who’s deck they replaced we will have to wait and see,
In the mean time I have ordered a dead rabbit would have bought a qp juggerknot but cannot find them in the UK stupid TPD laws.
it’s a shame as I would have ordered another Kylin and had friends waiting to see what I thought thought of it before they purchased.

Its not a wicking issue. You can wick it tight enough where you have to wait between vapes so not to get a dry hit and still leaks.

Found out a couple days ago that MyVPro is VV customer support for US. Which imo means they don't really resolve issues and only forward things to VV overseas.

This is the email i got. I'd rather just not deal with vandy vape any longer. This was after telling them it was leaking under airflow ring
Thank you for your email.
Could you please clean it up and rebuild the tank, then please let it stay for a long time, to check it where is leaking and how long will run out of the tank. Maybe you could build more cotton in it. And you also need to clean the condensate regularly , be careful not let juice go into the airflow. Please have a try.
If not, please send me the clear pictures to tell the leaking issue.
And please kindly follow our warranty policy and provide all the info as required:
http://www.vandyvape.com/warranty-policy/

Kinda like VaporDNA. They act like they're God's gift to building and the rest of us are kids that don't know and have to be guided and told. I went around and around with them to try to keep them from needlessly keeping $, just because they "say" the product is "ok". I finally got my last few bucks, but not after spending more time with them than it was worth.

You can get the V2 atomizer for under $26 now. Vapewild has it for 25.99. Poor quality control has its price. Yesterday I ordered a OFRF Gear RTA 3fvape has them for about the same price with free shipping

That gear is supposed to be a flavor machine. I can't get past the low capacity.
I got the other V2 from VaporL USA warehouse. 25 for colors, 23.xx for SS. Free ship. Ordered Sunday be here tomorrow FedEx.

I figure being single coil using the 3.5 ML bubble tank it would last as long a V2 or it could depending on the build.

Kylin Mini 5ml is what I use at work most of the time. V2 could possibly be a second tank for that since I can keep the wattage down to my battery charge usage. Have to get the thing to work though.... just checked tracking today, and it will be here today, so I'll know today..lol

Kylin mini is 5.5ml and Kylin V2 is 5ml. I got a .1 ohm parallel clapton build in my kylin mini it does go through juice pretty fast but I use a dual 21700 PWM mod so batteries easily last all day

Good. The more the better:). I haven't been vaping that low. Around 2.3-3, in the mobile setup and have been using mostly Drag Mini for that for a couple weeks. Like it so far, small/no external batteries to keep up with in the car. Haven't ran out of power, @ 30ishw it goes for a good 8hrs but I have time to plug it in a time or 2 during the day so I do and that's easy. Thought about Juggerknot Mini or Peacemaker 25mm but I like the shorter size of the Mini/V2.

V2 matt black round 2: By now I would have cleaned the puddle at least a couple times and so far just very minimal condensation near 1 air port that's so minor I haven't cleaned it off yet. Looks promising. The only build difference is this time is I used the included coils.

Been following this thread.
Just looking at this tank and it's deck, it should be a great one. It bums me out that you guys are having all these same leaking issues. :(

I'v been tempted to try it out at some point, but I don't think I could do anything any better or different than I see all of you doing.

I have the gunmetal color and I get what would amount to 1 drop if even that per tankful on the bottom of the deck, I can live with that small amount given the flavor the tank puts out. Sorry you guys are having leaking issues.

^^ Looks like the Frosted Grey one?

The first one would seep right away no matter how it was wicked. After sending it back and getting another, then putting about 6-8ml though it as of this am, 1st wick attempt and no leaking. Here’s what I did/working for me with the stock coils 28x3/38 N80 3id/6wrap Cotton Bacon Prime:
1.jpg 2.jpg
Thinned quite a bit. Didn't dog ear, just cut the fuzz off.
3.jpg 4.jpg

Just short of the deck/kissing it a little.

This might have absolutely nothing to do with the leaking problems anybody is having with this tank and this deck, but it did on my Ijoy limitless XL, which is generally a similar layout. Having the coil extend past the inner edge of the wicking channel and the small space it created was one of two issues that were jist killin me for a good while til I got them figured out.

Like I say, maybe no application here at all, but doesn't cost anything to suggest it as somethign to look at. :)

You can see in pic 4 how centered the coils are. And in pic 1 how much room there is before the wick port. I haven't measured the deck but there's room for more coil length imo.
