Trying to stay at pace

I know I know there's so many topics on this so please don't bash me. I'm trying to figure out by using a puff counter, what I should set it at for the day. I have a 6ml tank, if I start the day with a new filled tank of 6mg strength juice what should I set the counter to so I can equal a pack of cigs for the day. And how many puffs each hour I bring out my vape should I do to equal smoking a cig?

If anyone has ever determined, factually, how much equals a cigarette, I've not read the determined amount. Me, I don't worry about it, because vaping is so completely different from smoking.

I've not had a mod with a puff counter that worked that way. Mine always showed how many puffs I took, then started over after hitting a certain number.

Welcome to VU

Thinking it's not yet been determined, too many variable variables involved to accurate test it out. "Well it depends on, ... (Three weeks later) and that explains how we might begin to test how much vaping equals one cigarette."

If you're concerned about overdoing it, your body will let you know if you've had too much nic. Headache, queezy, maybe a bit shaky.

Uh huh, yep *he says nodding and realizing he needs watered, excuses self*

Welcome come to VU.
What you are asking simply doesn't have an answer. Personally I have not worried about how much or often I vape since that is likely to change daily depending on mood & circumstance, just like when I smoked.;)

"Siri, can I stub my toe from watching too much furniture porn?"

"I, ..."

"Huh, hm, okay ..."

You had to just know furniture porn would somehow find a way to inject itself into conversation/s today. We've had Chuck Norris as well, next up will be the accidental anal sex with a dolphin and the trifecta will be complete, ... hat trick! ;) :) :D :p

Well, I'm not sure we've helped, but if you do feel like you need to pace yourself, maybe only vape for the length of time that a cigarette would burn, and only as often as you would've picked one up to smoke. You can always reduce the amount of nicotine in your juice, too.

Again, I personally don't worry about it, as I really don't feel that I'm doing the amount of damage to my lungs as I used to.

Congratulations on putting down the smokes!

When first quitting, it often helps if you follow the same routines as when you smoked

I found I did a lot better if I still went outside at breaks, etc, even when I was allowed to vape inside

I also looked for that elusive "how much vaping equals a cigarette" and there is no good answer to that

Most human brains like to follow set patterns, and when trying to drop an addictive one like cigarettes, you may do better if you follow the same routines, but vape instead of smoke

And if you find yourself vaping more than you smoked, it's okay, you are still coming out ahead

Eventually your brain adjusts, and you won't want to go out when its too hot/cold/wet etc. or the smell of tobacco will be a turnoff,

You will find your own vaping comfort zone when you stick with it :)

Another thing to note along with the other replies is the length of your puff. I take really short ~1 second puffs, so I vape more frequently - giving me way more on the puff count. Most devices allow for 8 to 10 second cutoff, and there are a lot of people that inhale for that long.

If you're vaping for nicotine satisfaction instead of oral fixation, then I would regulate when you vape. Maybe try to schedule it in your head - have a vape session after 3 hours in between.

Eventually your brain adjusts,
... "The twins keep us on Centaurian time, standard thirty-seven hour day. Give it a few months. You'll get used to it... or you'll have a psychotic episode." -- Zed M.I.B

Agreed. There's no rocket science involved in it, unless you really want to go funding a government study, following a rabbit down a hole trying to figure out if a six second draw on a vape is equal to half a cigarette or not. We are not sure because it's a wholly subjective well response. "It depends, physiology of the person, absorption rate, this, that, twenty other things, and on and on, ..."

That sounds like a good plan too. I usually vape a bit and set it aside for a while, 2-3 hours. There are times I take fits of feeling an urge to vape all day it seems. So, I indulge. Some days I like 4 cups of coffee over 3, I indulge that as well despite it being advised I ought to not use caffeine due to depression. Bah, I've got the garden variety "clinically chronic" as in going to be depressive the rest of my life depression, I'll drink my coffee & you can mind your opinion because I don't mind it. :) I'm a realist and pragmatist.

Caffeine & nicotine, sugar are all allegedly "bad" for us but they are very enjoyable and addictive. Not ashamed to admit being dependent, which does in point then mean I'm an addict. I'm an addict of breathing and drinking clean water too. Both of which given the right circumstance can kill you outright. I looked up how much coffee in a day would kill me. *chuckles* I need to drink 11 cups. I used to drink coffee by the pots, wouldn't dare that now. Life it seems runs our batteries down. :)

We all have our vices. I'm probably addicted to the oral fixation. I keep my nic low, but I'm vaping all day everyday.
