Yeah and hard shorts ain't fun.... It's like putting the batteries the wrong way in a series.... Yeah buddy 4th of July action.....

The mosfets protect against hard shorts right? Right???!! Lol! Please say yes!

I’m trying to learn as much as I can to be safe. I also won’t be using a low resistance so there is that.

so let's be different this is "Corey" Corey was his dog its a stabwood mod nice colours ? but they also change

these are his words, not mine

"When I unboxed him this morning, the black resin was black, jet black. Had a very slight undertone of silver with a slight fleck of bronze but was extremely black. As the day has gone on and the light has faded, turning on lights in house, it appears to have changed. Now the black is far less prominent and the silver/grey/bronze has popped through and it looks just amazing, the black has faded into a background colour and the silver is now prominent with a brown/bronze tinge to it. Stu seems to have made a mod that changes throughout the day! I must ask... Stu... Are you a wizard?"

the colours do and will move about as they reflect through to the surface not on the surface the resin is just a carrier for the colours
The mod is beauitiful in color.... I like mods that are 25 to 30% Resin..... Or all Stabwood.....and don't like tubes.

Keep posting what images you have of mods that are for sale.....

I don't mind .. It's my thread..... And I want it to be a Stabwood thread.....

I just don't want some Chinese guy spamming my thread with tennis shoes and Chinese watches......

No, they don't.

Many mods advertised as MOSFETs are actually PCB though. With added components for extra protection. So check if it is just a MOSFET or a PCB

I used to use them the reason was you could use a fire button that was small the gate need a tiny amount of electricity to shut the gate to fire the attey
Yeah finding a good switch was a big issue back then...... The same with 510......

I like 510's with Copper pins and a copper screw for adjusting..... Don't get into the spring loaded 510....

And I like rounded hand shaped 26650 small..... Even a Yihi SX 485J would be perfect......

there just a gate to allow electricity to flow the right way the fire button just opens and shuts the gate
The way I understand it is the Mosfet has a certain resistance, it needs a certain current to open-allow the gate to open the flow of electricity to complete the circuit....

If you built too low the Mosfet blows or closes in order to stop the flow- current to complete the loop....

That's why they blow when you put the batteries incorrectly..... Because instead of a parallel 4.2V ...

You are pushing 8.4 Volts.

Did I get it STU...

I've been using the yihi sx485j there cracking boards easy to work with and use I had to make and design my own plates button and mount though

I did make mods using the big sx board though it was huge with a massive 15mm capacitor on the back a hateful thing

over here the power of your mod is like your ego "i want a 4 battery 21700 dna250c squonker" trouble is a mod that size is like a piece of 3 x 2 (inches) ive seen them made and they are crazy size but in saying that I have made big mods 2 was for a marine in Japan he had big hands, in fact, he was big, a cracking chap with a big heart lovely to deal with
I have big hands and like bigger mods.

I'm having one made (Osiris) mod..... He completed it and got pictures of it... He shipped it Friday so it should be here tomorrow or Saturday.....

I wanted an Yihi SX 350J v2 and a dual 18650..... I also asked for a Fat Daddy 510.... And wanted a nice hand fitting mod.....

I sent him a diagram of my hand...... Ha ha..... Put my hand on a piece of paper traced it and sent it to him....

And he was no problem Manny I'll build you one.... And send me a pic of 8 blocks I could choose from....

It's been almost since before Christmas...... On the Osiris Facebook page he has hundreds of people wanting mods and he make 15 to 20 per month........

could be I won't use it

its nice wood but is coffin wood

it's a very dry porous wood quite brittle for mod making it will break off if over kilned or too rotten
What is it though.....

Mahogany, walnut, and cherry are at the high end or Pine, poplar, and willow at the low end.

Mid-range materials are probably oak, birch, or maple maybe.

It doesn't really matter, does it? The stabilisation should strengthen any inherent weakness
Yeah ...if the wood was properly stabilized and vacuumed it becomes very strong..... You have to abuse it to crack.....

And if they bake it at low temps ..... I seen how they low temp bake it in one of those small ovens..... Well I seen wood chucks doing it in North Carolina and Virginia...... Wood chucks not as an insulting term(backwoods) country folk would be more appropriate.

I also heard that waxing the interior (internal surface) also helps preserve the wood for hot climates......

It's low humidity here in Arizona......

I simply would not get a Mech for a beginner. Just IMO. Be safe than dead.

Manny, That DPM is much nicer than most of his. You picked his best one. I do not mean to be a dick but obviously you are doing very well. I know guy's in that business only make up to like $80K. Plus have family. IE, Broke. For one thing you are single! Get a Girl/Guy and see what happens! Keeping my wife 300+ Gucci bags 1,500+ kicks you get the idea. Why she cannot say shit about what I buy. I like yours Stu because not a Monkey! Just as nice as DPM but different IMO. I am happy Crown IV no leaks! First tank ever I had no leaks! So Fire button still has what little wood grain it did. ThorII is epitome of Chinese but not DPM or Stu's.

I am stupid too though. Using very damaged battery! waiting for the Kaboom. I am careless with charger too. I have $55MM insurance on property so don't really care. They will make it even nicer lol. Although Charger is on huge cement slab. So if explodes probably no damage anyways. Plus is supposed to have thermal, resistance shutdown. Do not rely on fail safe equipment though! says I Duh.

Well ThorII is my current Fav but there are obviously much nicer ones. No wonder stain would not take refinishing Mahogany Guitar!

I buried my dad in Million Dollar casket! No kidding. My Mom not so much simply because I could not get it. Muslim folks do not Embalm so have 2 days to find casket. It just so happened they had the crazy one when my Father Passed. Not the wood. Has Diamonds and Sapphires all over it.

If you do not have a Top Hat that is currently the last word in Stabwood. Used for $7,000-$30,000. Just stupid market driven prices. New were less than a Grand. Not even so well built IMO. If you want to be a real show off though.... I have one but not selling yet. Watch it go up more LOL. Or like my Beanie Babies lose a fortune ultimately.

I do not mean to be a dick either. You can't hate on anyone that worked hard. Really.

Manny, how do you take apart VA or Asmodus to wax inside? No screws. I am afraid if I pry it I will chip the resin. Stu, So the DPM is dyed as well? I thought dye was no good? Those guys without machines do work their butts off. Stu, other than Manny's DPM including most DPM yours rocks. Not sure I like light shines through resin now. Stu, I bet the ThorII is really cheap junk? I got the initial release of 30 units. Mine is 23 I think. The full production may not be as nice. These were more money than the full production units but not that much. Resin must be very thin for light to shine through? I probably take Stu's over any other DPM. Manny, you nailed it with that one! How did you get 4 year old Mod from him? Never on Facebook? I prefer 26650 too but watch it is heading towards 21700 unless custom of course. You never told me what Ultem is? Just please tell me how to take those apart. You prefer YIHI. It is very good but I prefer DNA75C. Just because of Escribe customization. YIHI Power+ does hit harder. Plus more efficient. I got a Theme I like though. Has everything on the Mod including full Replay. I do wish that DPM was more rounded. His exposed battery tube has small gaps though. You killed it with that one though. Beautiful.

Lost hundreds of trees, Dutch Elm.
