Hugsvape Lotus, flavor bangin RTA

All the reviews were reporting wadda flavor beast this thing is and I had to try it. I love to see new underdog companies do well too. (For the right reasons anyway)
I know I don't have as much experience as a lot of folks do, but I mean to tell ya. This RTA is beyond awesome.

They even fixed the minor cons mentioned here as well. The glass stays on now when disassembling and the airlow adjustment ring is perfect. Oh yeah. The included drip tip now comes on and off easily too while still being tight enough.

Everybody says it's not for beginners as far as building ease, but I whipped up a pair of 3mm .4 ohm 30ga. twisted cores claptoned with staggered 36 (all 316L), cut the leads like Daniel says, wicked it after priming and no leaks and no shorts.

The flavor and vapor production is truly incredible. The only fiddly thing might be that the 510 connector seems a bit long. I stuck a modguard on there to take up a bit of the depth. I can't imagine any RTA lover not loving this one.

By the way, I know he's a goofball, but Rip Trippers has been into this game forever. For the life of me I can't understand how he had so much trouble wicking this deck. I mean I'm still pretty much a noob and I nailed it on the first try. Wasn't even difficult at all really. The open cotton channel deal is a bit unusual, but he makes it sound like it'll leak no matter what you do.

He couldn't deny the awesome vape it produces though.

How do coils last, do the tops get black quickly?

I just got it yesterday so I'll let you know, but what do you mean exactly about the tops of the coils getting black? I've never heard that. Why with this particular RTA?

I hope somebody else gets one of these tanks. I'd love to see what others here think of it.

I cannot put the thing down.

AHA! I didn't even think of that, but next time I take it apart I'll be sure to check.

Absolutely no sign of burning at all though in the vape itself.

Next question, how easy is it to change the drip tip?

Sorry for short and to the point, family time in the evening for me

For me with the improved final release version it comes off like any other drip tip. I like the included one alot though. Delrin and the shape and height are perfect for me.

Very wide 810 drip tips will hangover a bit with the cone shaped cap, but it also comes with a 510 adapter. Personally I wish I had 10 of these drip tips though in different colors. I really like it.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see anything. That's both sides. The difference in color is because of the position of the light. I've put maybe 20 mils through it with that build. .4 ohms, 30ga twisted, claptoned with staggered 36, all 316L, 3mm id. 60 joules and 460 F.

I don't have the experience and all the atomizers some of you guys do, but all I know is that this thing vapes full and loud. I can still taste it 5 minutes later and not from spitback. It's that rich.

I happened to see a review from djlsb on YouTube a while back and he raved about it so I tried one. I now have 3 of them. Great flavor and no leaking. The wicking channels are a bit different and I have found that you need to thin the wicks well so that they fit in the channels and keep them short (not touching the deck). Doing it this way, I have never had any leaking and it wicks great. The driest rta I own. The chamber is small so coil length and diameter is critical to avoid shorting. I am running tricore FC with 5 wraps at 3mm I'd and it performs great. I don't care for the drip tip so I'm using Recurve tips on mine.
Pardon the dirty coils/cotton...

How tight is the air? How smooth, how loud?

Of course I agree with everything you said... except the drip tip :D

Which makes sense because the recurve ones you like are the exact opposite shape of the one that comes on this tank. I like em tapered like this one. The Heracles RTA2 I have also has one with that general shape too. I love that tank and that drip tip too.

Can you compare it to another RTA for reference, the tightness of airflow I mean?

I know Daniel said he likes it closed halfway, but the flavor is already "intense" long before that to me.

His review influenced my decision as well, but it was unanimous with EVERY review I watched or read. Great vape and flavor flavor flavor.

Anything about the Lotus I should know? Looks pretty simple and straight forward as far as coil mounting and wicking
It's very hard to get it actually wrong with the Lotus. I haven't been able to do it.

So as not to ruin it for you, only some minor tips.

Use whatever coils you like in anything else.
2,5 or 3mm id
4, 4.5 or 5 mm legs.
However many wraps you like that will fit.
Position them however it looks to you like they should go.

The only possibly twiddly thing is the wicking for the very first time, though I had no problems at all and all the usual common wicking sense stuff applies. Channels full but not packed so that the cap compresses it too much etc.

You need to get the wicks wet but not soaked to form them into the channels. I use my ceramic tweezers to sort of gently squeeze and coax them into place. Even this sounds worse than it is. Believe me, once it's in your hand you'll see.

I like mine just barely hanging past the deck and into the well in the bottom. Once all 4 are where you want them just screw the top on being reasonably careful not to pull the cotton outta the channels. It's never happened to me though.

The topfill has a little mark where you just push it and the cap swings open on a hinge. I find that if I just push on the drip tip to close it, it slides easily back into place with that little clasp.

It will vape great no matter what you do for your first build, but that doesn't mean it can't be made to vape even greater with some experimentation.

It won't ever be bad, but there are degrees of goodness.

Thank you! I've been watching reviews for the past week or so cause I knew I liked it and would eventually snag one. Once I get it my hands it will all fall into place as far as coil position and wicking. After watching videos I definitely feel as though I've wicked more difficult rtas so not really concerned about having any issues.

Now I just have to wait for that slow row boat from China to get here.
