HIC's Scones recipe: fluffy, rich, lightly sweet, Devonshire cream scones include your choice of berries or other fruit and your favorite glaze/topping. This is a great way to vape your strongest fruit flavors without the fruit overwhelming the rest.

1.5% FA Cookie
1% FA Custard
1% FA Vienna Cream
0.5% FA Fresh Cream
0.5% TFA Cranberry, FA Bilberry, Raspberry, 1% FA Forest Mix, 1% FA Blackcurrant, or 2% FA Strawberry *
0.5% FA Lemon Sicily, Orange, Mandarin, or Lime Cold-Pressed **

* These are the fruits baked into the scones. Keep reading for more suggestions.

** These are glaze/accent flavors.

I've liked every combination I've tried from the flavors listed above. My favorites are cranberry-orange, bilberry-lemon, and blackcurrant-lime. Honorable mention goes to Raspberry-Mandarin.

You can change the last two ingredients for other combinations: Pear-Almond, Fuji-Cinnamon, or Raspberry-Hazelnut, for example. If your main flavor is not a very strong one, use 1% or more of it and keep the last ingredient at just 0.5%: Fig-Cardamom, Lemon-Ginger, and White-Chocolate-Cranberry are a few I'd suggest making like that.

I hope you'll have fun with it! Please let us all know what flavor combinations you try!

Looks great HIC. I have the best recipe for strawberry, raspberry , white chocolate scones that I could share but not the vape version. I will leave the vape version up to the master here.

This sounds like a successful version of the Cornish Cream Tea (with strawberry) I was trying to make several months ago - and gave up on in disgust LOL

You sent me juice, too?? You da man!
hahaha you might not believe this but I pretty much just made this recipe literally 30 minutes before I seen this just now.
I know, right? I'm trying to figure out why my biscotti didn't work out. It's kinda similar, but likely over-flavored. I didn't toss it, though. Will taste again.

I saw references to that, but couldn't figure out why a dessert is called "tea" if contains no tea. It's served with tea? You dunk it? It secretly contains tea?

LOL It's part of 'tea' as in the little afternoon snack/meal we have before dinner (well, we did, back then when we weren't particularly concerned about waistlines LOL). A Cornish Cream Tea is typically a meal of tea, scones, clotted cream, and strawberry jam - very yum:D

Ahhh, thanks for the explanation. "Clotted" cream sounds disgusting, but Devonshire Cream sounds so much classier, I used that term instead. If you make a strawberry version (IMO needs about 2%, sort of a weak FA flavor), I think it tastes like scones with fresh strawberries baked inside....not as sweet as jam on top.

LOL And, a Devonishire Cream Tea is pretty much the same thing as a Cornish Cream Tea:p

just to clarify i want to make this with raspberry/hazelnut so this would be the recipe correct?

1% FA Vienna Cream
0.5% FA Fresh Cream
0.5% FA Raspberry

Yes, that's right. Raspberry and Hazelnut are both very strong flavorings, so 0.5% each is correct.
I hope it's one you enjoy!

I've got everything but the "fruit inside" flavors. Damn you HIC, gonna have to make another order to Bull City. . . or use some TFA flavors. . . (Strawberry RIpe or Blueberry Extra?)

Got TFA Sweet Raspberry? I think that would be good, if you like the flavor. I'd pick (so to speak) Strawberry Ripe over Blueberry Extra.

With the Fuji Cinnamon mix would that be the FA Cinnamon Ceylon?
And what percentages? 1% Fuji and .5% Ceylon
This combo sounds great,Thanks for the recipe HIC.

Oooh, that sounds interesting! Yes to FA Cinnamon Ceylon (only cinnamon FA makes, and IMO the very best bakery cinnamon flavor).

The percents you list would be lots of apple and cinnamon, but I think that would be good! (please let us know how you like it if you make that.)

edit - oh, I see you're asking about my note in the recipe. Yes, you got it!

Nope to the Raspberry so the SR is looking good. . . but I also have Apricot somewhere and it's actually quite strong. . . Apricot and Mandarin sounds good. . .

My ^%@$ nic needs to come in so after I get done testing I can make a big bottle. . .

. . . into the mix calculator it goes for the next big mixing day.

I'd recommend going low on Hazelnut, or it will smother Strawberry.

I'm pretty new to DIY. I have everything but FA Cookie. Could something like TFA Graham Cracker Clear be substituted?

That would taste completely different. Not that it would be bad, but definitely not scones.

HIC, the apricot/mandarin mix has proven so popular that co-workers and all the employees at the local B&M have ask asked for bottles of it. . .

i bumped the strawberry in the strawberry/hazelnut blend down to 1.5% and i have to say its one of the best strawberry custard/cream vapes ive ever had. just wanted to let you guys know. 2% was a little overpowering on the strawberry, at 1.5% you get all the creamy custardy goodness that you need in your life

Will Cap Lemon Sicily sub for FA Lemon Sicily at same percentages? I was thinking about going with the Raspberry and Lemon or Strawberry and Lime.

I haven't tried Capella's version, but if that's what I had, I'd give it a go at the same percent. If it doesn't stand out enough, you can always add more.

So I went with 2% FA Strawberry and .75% CAP Lemon Sicily. At .5% I couldn't taste the lemon at all so I raised it to 1% and then I couldn't taste the Strawberry so I tried .75% lemon Sicily and it's great! Amazing recipe HIC! Thanks for sharing!

Thank YOU for posting how to use Capella's Lemon Sicily. I'll make a mental note that you needed about 50% more of it versus FA's version. I've heard they're very similar flavors.

FA Apricot is not a very strong flavor, so this part of the recipe applies: "If your main flavor is not a very strong one, use 1% or more of it and keep the last ingredient at just 0.5%" So it would go 1% Apricot 0.5% Mandarin.

I used 2% TFA apricot, it could go a bit higher depending on preference. 2% is fine for me. It's strong for TFA but not as strong as a FA flavor.

haha.. ever see the movie 'moscow on the hudson' ? theres a scene where robin williams goes to a supermarket for the first time ... and finds the coffee isle...

yeahhhhh.. oh just one more flavor for the order ... then you put off ordering to make sure you don't need something else .. then when you finally pull the trigger on the order .. 'forgot this', 'forgot those' , 'should have got that' lol ;p

This is one of my favorite recipes when I'm in the mood for something different. It's so versatile. My fave is orange cranberry...it always puts a smile of my face and is perfectly balanced. I fill one tank with the scone recipe and one with coffee something and its like being at Starbucks...calorie free deliciousness.

I was thinking of trying a Cinnamon Peach, with FA white peach, would you suggest 2% or 3% FA white peach? & .5% FA ceylon?

I would use just 1% FA White Peach, 0.5% Cinn Ceylon. I'd try that first, then if I wanted more peach, I'd add 0.5% FA Peach instead of more White Peach. I would guess 2-3% White Peach would overrun the cream flavors.

Thanks HIC, I followed your recipe exact using Bilberry (15ml. 3mg. 30pg/70vg), didn't have any of the FA accent flavors so I tried one drop of Flavorah Tropical Citrus, I'll get back after a steep!.... btw anyone have suggestions of a % for TFA Raspberry (Sweet)? I know it's not nearly as strong as the FA suggestions.
