Stuck in a rut!

All of a sudden I'm not enjoying my DIY liquid recipes as I once did. Currently switching between a Vanilla Bourbon Caramel Cream, Black Honey RY4, Vanilla Custard, Blueberry Pomegranate Peach, and my ADV Strawberry Watermelon...

Variety certainly isn't the issue. I just don't get it. Maybe I need to experiment with some additives? TFA Smooth, FA Magic Mask, etc?

Anyone else go through this?

has your diet changed? Any new meds, even vitamins?

Try eating spicy foods.. drink coffee.. sniff the beans..eat crackers.. or scrub your tongue

Variety yes, but all desserts and/or sweet vapes.

Try something different, ya poor sweet receptors are 'prolly worn out. ;-)
You wouldn't want cake and fruit for food everyday, eh?

I'd bet you use tanks too, having the same flavor for long periods.
Me, I have like 20 mods in front of me and no two have the exact same flavor.

Also, RDAs are good to switch things up easily. Mix 'n match juices, experiment!

Diet has definitely changed, but it's just that I feel unsatisfied with my mixes. Like something's missing from some of them. Like a sort of mouthfeel or base for the flavors to stand up on. Low notes maybe?

I appreciate the advice but it feels more like my mixes are missing something. I see to be unhappy with all of them in one way or another. I've got a hefty Nic River order in the cart and I think that may help to get some new flavors in.

Unless you can share recipes.. we will all be sitting here, in wonder :p

Actually... @CaFF has good suggestions too.. ;)

sometimes it is just a simple equipment change, rather than a recipe change.. but wont know unless you can share more details :)

Here's a good example. I'm currently vaping this minus the FW Rice Cereal. It's good but could use something to add another, different element.
My idea was to get more of a texture to the vape.

Oh and I mostly vape pretty tight MTL RTAs these days. KFL+, ESG Skyline, Dvarw, etc.

From what I see of that...

If you are using a mtl.. you must have the best sucking action going on.. that is only a 70vg/30pg to start..
pg carries the flavor.. and for mtl most is 50/50 or 40vg/60pg maybe even 30vg/7pg...

second..

(I have not mixed with tfa in many years... personal choice, there is better out now)

I would decrease the black honey by 1.5%
Increase the rice cereal to 2% at least

hey did you do solo taste testing with these?? if not.. try it and find out where you do like them as a solo.. is a thought..

Kentucky bourbon needs to drop a 1%
increase custard to at least 2%

try that and see what you think.. I can not do this for all of your recipes.. best for you to tinker around.. :)

Most of my mixes are 60vg/40pg, but making the shift to 50/50 may not be a bad idea.
I'll take your advice on the percentages. Thanks!

I suggest grab a dripper.. they do make some mlt.. and try out your flavors..
start low, work up.. take lots of notes.. combine 2... if you are happy with that, add in yet another and so one..

I'm sure everyone has heard me say the same thing. Probably annoyed by now lol.

Nilla cake got me out of the funk for awhile. I know I know, buying juice is bad. It was a profile I haven't really had much of but I've been vaping it for weeks so I'm headed back to the rut lol.

So maybe try a profile you've never had. Guava is another one that got me out of a rut for a bit.

I thought this happens to pretty much everyone that vapes in any capacity. As a bakery lover myself it doesn't hurt to have a couple of occasional vapes that you cycle through along side your staples. Definitely helps prevent flavor burnout. More recently I have become obsessed with Mango vapes which is great for busting up vanillas and custards.

I find that mixing mango with apricot or peach and a bit of vanilla is quite tasty too. :)
Real mango is kinda tart, so the sweeter stuff mellows it out.

Does the hangsen have green notes or just ripe fruit?
That's one of the reasons I like it.
No "green" or bitterness that I notice.
I have the same problem with most of the "peach flavors" ... most have a "green" , unripe taste to me.

To me the Mango has a "real" taste, not phony.
My bottle is a couple of years old, .... so unless they changed the formula, ??

Funny, I don't eat Mango's, but I like the vape ... Now, cantaloupe I eat, but can't stand to vape.

I agree Cromwell ... HS is a top tobacco flavor maker.
I've just about eliminated all others but for a few, here and there.

Yes, Hangsen makes juice, it was all I vaped for a good while before starting DIY last year. Very good RY4 flavor, says my sister. I liked their cinnamon, tiramisu, grape, a few others I can't recall now. Loved Dekang's red cola, but wasn't able to find it for long. Have never found another red cola as good as that Dekang. I have a cola syrup flavoring that I'll experiment with one of these days.

As far as I know, all of HS's pre-made juice is 70/30, so ...t...h...i...n....

Used to order it cheap from a Chinese vendor called Vapor Break. 50ml bottles for something like $5.

ETA: Reading back through the thread, I see that you all were talking about whether or not Dekang made juice. Uh oh. I didn't read carefully enough. Anyway, yes, they also did. Great red cola! :)
