Yessir. Cloudy and delicious. What did you end up putting in there? Single or dual?

Dual twisted triple core fused claptons. Was a bit challenging the first time getting both coils in there and ohmed out higher than the same build in other decks, so I'll rebuild tomorrow. But yeah, it chucks clouds like nothing else and flavor for days. Love the airflow adjustments too, can really tighten it up if you like, which is good in situations where you don't want huge clouds (like in my work office lol)

I pretty much run a 4X26 or 28 claptioned in 40g as a big single coil. It rules as a single and still puts out.

This build was 6 wraps @ 3mm. Came out to .46 ohms, same build in my aromamizer comes to .34. Going to do one less wrap, maybe try solid wire as it's easier to work with and not so springy.

There will be 2mm-4mm more on one side and 4-5mm + on the other depending on how far down in you push the legs and how far out toward the airflow you go with it due to the central posts. Personally a 4mm ID single dead smack in the center has been wonderful. @f1r3b1rd likes his as a dual and can definitely offer some pointers.

For dual coil I run 5 wraps 3.mm id coils
Either 4x28/40 or 4X30/40 With ss316.

For single coil I run 4mm iD with one of the above but run 6 wraps and parallel with 26g round.(the picture shows that same build in dual and single.

I generally keep the legs long, about 5-6mm and with dual kick the coil over about 2mm away from the airflow. For single coil I twist it on an angle so that each edge is close to an airflow port:

Best tip:
Keep your coiling tool /rod in the coil while mounting, and hold the coils down with your thumb while you tighten the post screw.
Sounds complicated but totally not and helps the screw bite onto the leg.

That's pretty.

Sounds interesting.

Dude it is. I was expecting giant plumes of vape but it really is more about the flavor. Maybe if I knew what I was doing on a hookah it would be better.

I've never experienced hookah.

It was an impulse thing. I know very little about them myself. I found the e-hookah head and then proceeded to buy a hookah. Its great for flavor.

Twisted fused Clapton 32x3/40 5 3mm wraps.
This thin wire is a springy pain in the ass.

Is that AVS brand wire?

Yes, all I use is avs or lightning vapes.

A lot of people spin their own. I don’t have the patience or coordination so I buy it by the roll.

What is your resistance coming out to in both single & dual setups?

With 28x4
Dual coil is usually between 0.08-0.1
Single coil between 0.16-0.2

With 30x4
Dual coil is usually 0.15-0.18
Single coil 0.27-0.31

Thank you. I'm really digging this RDA but I need different wire than what I have for an effective build.

It does prefer “wider” builds and wire.
The thinner wire can also be a bit cumbersome to catch in the postholes.

The wotofo stock coils and asmodus oni coils work well in it; as well as, the avs and lightening exotic wires.

Once you have one of those builds in it, you’ll be hooked.

I may grab some of the AVS framed staple wire, seems that wire would be a little more rigid and easier to work with, in addition to the flavor benefits from that wire.

That would be a great choice imo.
In my experience, The multicore Clapton’s are flatter and easier to wrap. Some others would have much better advice.
I found what worked for me and stuck with it; because, I’m far from an expert in building. @jwill @VAPEROXX and @CrazyChef v2.0 know just about everything there is to know about building.

Trying a single 24g 316L on an angle.

Also, I'm wondering if for dual coil setups, winding each coil in the opposite direction would make for easier installation and alignment?

I used wound in same direction when I put 2 in it. So can't say.
When I single, I leave the coil straight and split the wick tails so I can channel the AF. Don't know if that matters for single becasue it's the only way I've done it, but ik I get awesome flavor and AF.

Sure thing. Your coils are awesome and I'm happy to try and support the members if our community.

I second His coils. I have a set of his coils that are many months old and still kicking. Quality business from VAPEROXX.
