Prolong the life of the vape coil / create your own coil

Hey guys, how are you?
I'm gonna start vaping soon, i just ordered the Revenger x developed by Vaporesso but i want to save my money... many of my friends told me that it was possible to create your own coil, is that true? How?

I've seen plenty of threads talking about "improving" the life of different coils but i am not 100% sure about it..

Do you use this vaper?Any advices?suggestions?

Thanks!

It's possible to make your own coils. It takes kanthal a1, stainless steel 316l,and nichrome 80,90. Those are the more common wires used. You have to have an ohms law calculator to know what ohms your coils will come out to. It's all about resistance. You can use steam-enigine.org or an app for your phone like vape tool. Building your own coils is a money saver and very rewarding when you accomplish a new coil you've never built before. We ha e a nice builders section here from beginner to advanced. From cloud chaser to flavor chaser. Coil porn included. Welcome to the Vu and someone is usually always around to help

Thank you for replying!
So, is it possible to "modify" all the different GT coils that are used in the Revenger x mod? I mean, once the coil is burnt try to make a new one using the shell but replacing the elements?

By the way.. how do you know if the coil is burnt or not?

Building to replace the wire in a drop in coil is the same but installation is trickier. There are video on YouTube that show rebuilding for stock coils.

As far as a burnt coil the taste is off. But it's usually the cotton that gets burnt up. Either running the tank low. Vaping to high of a wattage for the wicking to keep up which in turn leads to dry hits. Which is like inhaling a Carolina reaper. If you're looking to rebuild may looking into an Rta would be your best best to go with the revenger x mod. A lot easier to install coils into an rta than it is to try to install inside a casing like a drop in coil. There are tons of rtas out there for single or dual coil. I suggest looking at a vape website like Elementvape.com or another site and just take a look at some of the rtas.

Honestly man I really can't answer that one for you. It's more of a how you like to vape. Which will probably be different than how I like to vape. But some rtas that are great in my book are the wotofo Elevate rta, the stage ape armor rta. Now I just got this one as it was recommended to me by another member here. I wasn't ecstatic at first but it's definitely growing me and has great flavor. Dead rabbit rta is a more popular one here at Vu. Then you can get into more expensive ones like the reload. Go one YouTube and type in rtas for 2018 or 19 and you can get a better look at some. Research will be your beat friend in the vape industry. Not everything is as great as reviewers make it out to be. Some are. Stick around. Ask questions there are tons of threads here to rummage through. Some with as many as 6000 posts.

But also use the tank that comes in the kit. You may like it just fine. If at some point you feel like jumping into building then an rta may be the way to go for you. I'm not trying at all to say the tank is bad. I still used drop in coils as well.

Dude, last question: have you got any idea how long does a GT Coil last?

I had them in my vapresso Revenger and they lasted about two weeks a piece but I vape around 50 watts with diy juice in that one. I've since gotten rid of it because I just didn't use it anymore. Sweeteners in you're juice will kill a coil faster. Just keep that in mind. A super sweet bakery flavor will probably produce more build up and gunk on the coil than a fruity vape. But just depends

If at any point you're looking for new to you gear we have a trading post section here as well. I've linked the hardware thread below. Some great deals on gear. Some new some used. Members have a trade score so you can see who you can trust. But I've never seen a sale go bad in the 3 years I've been on VU.

Would you recommend me any particular e-liquid brand?
Do you think the Revenger x vaper is good enough?Would you replace the tank? You know, the main objective is to try to save money, that's why i am a little worried . I want to stop smoking! :(

I'm sure the tank will be just fine. You don't have to vape at the recommended wattage either. If lower than what's on the coil works for you then stay there. Make sure you prime the coil which is just putting juice on the cotton before installing. Then fill the tank, let it sit for a few. Maybe take a few puffs without firing to get the cotton soaked. Then just start at a lower wattage and work up to where you like it. May be different than others.
As far as juice. There are some good budget sites like Thesaucela.com,vapewild.com or vapingwatch.com. The tmax line at vaping watch is pretty good. Vapewild has a new customer code somewhere on the main page. Like 120ml for 4 bucks or something. The sauce has good sales all the time and have a code that never ends for 60%off is Cheers

Even buying factory coils and factory juice should be cheaper than smoking :)

Dude, have you got any idea if it is possible to use SMOK big baby beast coils with the NRG Tank? Are they compatible?
Yes, baby beast coils are compatible. There are a ton of coils that will work in that tank, just Google baby beast compatible coils. I think there is a thread here somewhere that lists them. I recommend the Geekvape super mesh .2 ohm coils. Excellent flavor, massive cloud and last me through around 300 ml of juice

You can use a ton of different coils that's for sure, I like the eleaf mesh coils, last two to three weeks.

Thank you for the suggestion!
I bought the Revenger x (touch screen edition - not the mechanical one). Is it possible to rebuild the Geekvape super mesh .2 ohm coil?

Are Revenger x vap (mechanical edition) and Revenger x vap (touch-screen edition) basically the same?

Hi, dude!..How are you?
A little question: how do you realize if the wire inside the COIL is dead or if the cotton got burnt up?
Suppose that i want to re-use a coil.. the only thing i have to do is replace the cotton OR i have to replace the wire too?

Can you post a link to both. Can only find the regulated. Mechanical would be just a firing switch no computer chip. So I'd say not the same

It will taste burnt honestly. The wire will get build up on it. Not really possible to dry fire once you take it out of the casing to remove the cotton. It's more of a pain in the ass than and rda or rta because of the casing.

I judge on flavor. If the flavor drops off, becomes muted, or tastes burnt, it's time to change.

I'd change both the coil and wicking. But like said above, it's a pain in the ass compared to a RTA. You'd probably get a much better vape with a proper rebuildable tank too.

Well, yeah.. I get you.. the problem is that many of my friends told me that the Revenger x was the best idea so i purchased one (price, quality, etc) but yeah.. RTA seems to be the right answer (it is kinda expensive tbh) :(

I ordered the stage vape armor rta from 3fvape for 14.00 plus shipping. Not that bad

Dammit, my country does not allow Vapers.. my order was cancelled. Thats incredible.
I think i am gonna buy a RTA vaper, which is the "best option"?models?any suggestions?
I'm gonna have to ask the seller to split the order into 2 packages : ATOMIZER + (MOD + ACCESORIES). Is that possible?

I am a little worried :(

So vaping is illegal in your country? Man I really hate that for you.

I mean, it is not allowed to buy a vaper from another country if you are a simple person (actually you can buy vapers from different countries if you have a business or related). Vaping itself is allowed but they dont want you to "smoke" anything.. there are plenty of silly restrictions

Anyway, which mod/atomizer do you recommend me? I mean, i decided to buy (somehow) a RTA Vaper

There are so many out there. The Aromamizer lineup, dead rabbit rta, my favorite is the profile unity but uses mesh instead and wicking that one can be tricky. But plenty of tutorials on YouTube for that one. If you want a single coil rta the wotofo Elevate is a good one. Zeus single coil is great as well.

If you're meaning the Sony vtc6 I believe there are two different ones. As in vtc6 and vtc6a. Here is mooches test on the vtc6.

https://www.facebook.com/batterymoo...tastic-15a20a-batterybottom/2018639535092289/

He did testing on the vtc6a in February but said they wouldn't be realesed for us to buy them for several months. Not sure if they're available now or not.

If at any time you have a question about a certain battery just type it in Google and type mooch behind it. It will show his testing on it and give you the actual ratings versus what the manufacturer puts on the labels.

Here’s a great list of chargers with reviews, click on the name to get the whole review. Xtar makes good chargers if you don’t want to research.

This list is an amazing resource when looking for chargers. It’s the only one I’ve found and is incredibly comprehensive. It’s worth a bookmark for sure. Good luck to you
