Have you ever googled “is vaping bad for your heart” ?

Its ridiculous. Ive been researching vaping and heart health because heart problems run in my family. I work in a vape store and chain vape 6mg squonk all day. I have heart palpitations but I know they’re also due to my lifestyle and other habits.

I went to the ER one day because I was feeling faint and short of breath, and just overall worried about it. They said I was healthy and fine.

I googled it, and wow, I just saw page after page of “50% higher risk of heart problems” on other pages. But I have been off cigs for 6 years and feel SO MUCH better in my body. So how is it really 50% worse for your heart? Are the tobacco companies still paying the FDA millions to put vaping on blast, and spew this BS all over the inter webs, or is it literally THAT BAD?

My teacher always points at my vape every day saying they’re worse than cigs. But I really feel like that is BS.

Can I please have some positive affirmations or at least something REALISTIC or TRUE?

Yes, fake research is still plaguing vaping and repeated by surgeon general, FDA and other "authorities" that know they are spreading hokum

My teacher always points at my vape every day saying they’re worse than cigs. But I really feel like that is BS.

It is BS - and if you look for proof it is, it doesn't actually exist

Look to Public Health England, and Dr Farsalinos in Italy - they have studied vaping extensively and work to make it part of national discussion

In England, health care is free, paid for by the government, so they have embraced the concept of harm reduction and are encouraging smokers to switch to vaping; because government has to pay when someone gets sick, the government is encouraging people to not get sick in the first place

The bottom line = tobacco control lobbyists/crusaders and corrupt health and research organizations, the yellow journalism and anti-vaping politicians that thrive on them are very bad for your heart.

I would bring this up with your doctor.
If you are vaping right now because you would otherwise be smoking real cigarettes then I would keep vaping.

No matter what the circumstance vaping is much better for you than smoking.

Exactly. Like I said, I figured it was BS, but I was really surprised by finding page after page of "risks".

I figured it is BS but that is quite extensive. I was hoping to get some reliable resources and I appreciate those of you who attempted to provide those.

Sadly even here we get scare stories in UK with the target of the FDA campaign being kid epidemic...same article, same tactics ...worded to capture the audience ....they crap on about smoking then try and liken vaping under the same umbrella “safer doesn’t mean safe” ....they admit it but don’t at the same time that vaping is a practical alternative to smoking

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/...aises-risks-stroke-heart-disease-attacks.html

as others pointed out Dr.Farsalinos pointed out the glaringly poor practice approach to these findings and why cross section surveys are not substantive

same thing with the formaldehyde research in 2018 ...they wouldn’t even give him access to the sample data so he could try to replicate the result...should speak volumes

Can agree with this on so much in life. If you find something which points out an obvious truth, then all the "authorities" and "news" bury it over with BS. You look for further proof but even your research gets misty and vanishes. Ack, no you better not say "someone found someway to get to it". They'll flag you as paranoid & delusional. *flips "them" the bird* Not a delusion to watch reality prove there are those who do want you gone.

One good reason I am staying clear headed off of any mental health medications. Got tired of that as a crutch and yoke.

Read the Germanic to English, some of it is so very near that it made me wonder and recall the German, not much but a bit that the Mennonites taught us in Summer Bible camp. Rather frightening epic and bardic poem, based on likely even more frightening of a battle for the Romans at the time.

I like to google accidental anal sex with dolphins. It's a damn hoot but I warn you, no bleach can ever wash it out. Actually belay that, I don't use (NSA) Google to search, I like DuckDuckGo, StartPage, searX.

That brings up a good point.

When searching using DuckDuckGo you are likely to end up with more realistic and diverse search results.

Certain sites end up getting preferential treatment on a google search so you'd end up with a biased first couple pages of search results.

Nope, why would I do that?
I have read the conclusions of the College of physicians and others reports stating that vaping is ~95% safer than smoking.
No one says that it is totally safe just a much safer alternative than smoking.
You are safest to not do either and eat healthy, exercise, etc
Hospitals are very unsafe, more people die in the USA each year from mistakes made at hospitals than from guns.
Does that mean we should not go to hospitals?
Naah hospitals save far more than they kill.

No that’s the companies they sell all your data to :giggle:

Scary how quick it translates, was searching for something on google next thing I know I’m getting adds on Facebook about it
Dude you can talk about stuff around your phone and fb ads pop up. Happens to my wife all the time. Try it one day. Just talk about fishing poles or something around your phone and within a day you'll see it. Happened with the beach trip, dog treats, even a catch basin for my back yard. It's crazy

Aye and DuckDuckGo does not "bubble" users, which is something akin to "kettling" that police forces do with crowds assembling peacefully. You get stuffed into a smaller and smaller still place where you either take what your given or well you lose sight of remaining peaceful. Gives an excuse for the "authority" to act "rashly" to "save all". Censorship like that on the Internet & Web I cannot abide. If I want to look for "toaster banging hassock" or "steamy recliner seduces lawn chair" then I ought to be allowed.

It's no one's business unless I'm harming myself or anyone else. Ideas, thoughts are meant as being free. It is without that freedom dreamers can not bring you things like first step of mankind on the moon, rover explores Mars, scores of lives saved from amazing new surgery procedure to clear blocked hearts. This is why I still firmly identify myself as a hacker, ethical and moral sure but no less a hacker. Hackers agree, information which is a narrative formed by data, rightly ought to be free. Data itself also by extension needs to be free.

That is not saying I want to come sneak into your personal home computer and steal all your financial data, use all your funds to live a partying life. Sorry, no ... that's too easily done. It has no challenge as well it's simply immature and not ethical or moral. Noting that, give us good reason and I'm sure a few see no problem doing just that. By and large though hacking is a process of using data to solve problems. I might put the data into a microwave to heat it up, or drop it from a tall building to test gravity on it. I possibly could use a spanner as a banger and whack the data into a tool for using photo shots from satellites to locate mineral deposits. You never can tell what a mind unbound can do.

What is needed more is a faith or trust that there are some of us who wear black hats but do white hat work. Folks rather fall prey to fear though. "Oh my Gawd, dreaded hackers, cyber-terrorists .. whatever will we do? Save the children!" Why does that seem always the case? Well, truth is simple enough, negativity sells. Do good in the world, move on to the next thing and keep on, ... see all the non-existing news? And if all you're doing is in the Light, well then they'll make shit up to smear on you, so they can earn a buck. Sad? Maybe. True? Sure is. Seen it, been on ends of it enough to know.

Some days I get upset being an every man. Other days I just keep rolling on.

"Shh, Google listens," has become a catch phrase of my wife. I respond. "Oh hello you lovely NSA folks, today's crossword puzzle word is rapture, now go rupture yourselves figuring out what it means," or some other nonsensical trollop. One day I was convinced that no matter the question, "cod liver is the answer."

Ought to have seen all the anchovy adverts my wife got on her phone. "Damn you, quit taking piss at my phone," she hollered. Pretty rough like that on my phone too, although I usually remain as quiet as can, cover the cameras. I would take the battery out but fear the minute I do, a SWAT team will raid. "He's gone dark, we better hit 'im!"

I'll keep listening to my Pap's words. "Hospitals: Where you go to die." Been in them too much for my liking, and yes did die once in one, came back but gee died in one. Of course the other side of that lies in "gee, you were born in one too." I'm not sure about that, there's rumor and myth about a baby rolling off an orange tree, dropping into the Atlantic and being rescued by SEAL. Baby came awake singing "easy day". Still not sure if that was me or my brother. Two of us takes turns pulling weird stuff.

Nicotine does constrict blood vessels (and fairly sure caffeine does too) and can slightly aggravate other health issues but does not affect your heart directly (coffee, bacon... and salt could be much worse for you) BTW, it also has some positive health benefits (for example mental clarity)
Smoking combustible tobacco is so freaking bad for your health (in so many ways) Nuff said.
BTW, going to try out duck duck go (I was aware of it but never got around to trying it... thanks for reminding me)

Swiss Cows is another privacy respecting engine, it slants toward offering family friendly results. I want to go live in their housing bunker. :)

Ekoru helps get rid of CO2 emissions with its searches, saving the oceans.

Ecosia helps communities and the earth by planting trees and doing other ecological work using revenue from its searches.

Qwant is an engine in France geared to protecting privacy.

Got no problem suggesting any of these as searching alternates. You might also look at Start Page.

i quit cancer sticks 3 yrs ago after a heart attack. i have been through the follow up classes, changed diet, stopped deinking ets.my weight went from 92kg down to present weight of 78kg. i said to my doctor is vaping harmfull? she replied : nothing that you put into your lungs is good for you, but vaping is 90%better for you than cancer sticks. she told me that a lot of hospitals in europe sell vaping stuff in their chemists because facts show that nicotine patches, gum etc are rubbibh but vaping really helps getting you fag free partly because you go through the hand motions and the smoke effect.
however i found it easy but i do not use nicotine. i also mix my own juices and i found that i enjoy doing that and it costs me only$A2/day. over here in oz it costs $32 for 30 fags!
so yes it is a lot healthies than stinking fags.

if you look up the doctors verdict from the english and usa journals, they both say vaping is 95% better than cancer sticks. people say that cannot be true as vaping is to young to show true effects. doctors say fags have over 5200 chemicals in them, e juice has 4. and two of our 4 are used in baby soaps and a lot of other products. there was a test where a maching smoked 1 fag into a glass tank full of cotton balls it was yuck, using a vape for the same time resulted in cotton being clean,

anything you put into your lungs wont be healthy, but i would rather get shot with a pellet gun (vape) than a shotgun (cancer stick)

I was in a bad car accident in October...broken ribs and sternum...etc. I had pulmonary contusion and a myocardial contusion...damage to the chest wall...causing afib and pericarditis...lame slow recovery.

Anyway..my cardiologist team and the pulmonary specialist didn't seem to care too much that I vape....everything looks fine! They told me to make sure I'm careful about nic strength. I being the idiot that I am lol...tried a friend's esco bar a couple months ago...nope! Granted I can see why due to the meds.

It got me thinking...ya the heart and lung things are perfectly fine for us..nicotine addict ex smokers. Who have a tolerance for this stuff. But the teenagers who have never smoked..going for juuls and Mr fogs...I can see where that could cause problems...

However....the problem with statistics...you can cherry pick the data in your favor....no matter ethics. Yes I can pick a sample group of 200 people...half normal half heart problems...give the normal people 0mg..and those with heart problems 50mg...notice changes in heart rate ...then finalize the study...50% increased risk of heart problems vaping.

Jeez, I can’t remember the last time I’ve posted but I still lurk;)

To add to the thread on my second back surgery in 2016 a year after I quit the cigs, I had complications and fluid build up after I was released. So trying to figure out my pain they did another MRI and some lung x-rays. I was curious and asked the tech if he can tell if people smoke he said absolutely.

I told him I quit a year ago and switched to vaping and asked if he noticed anything. He said I look like a non-smoker…….so that’s my story, take that however you want too.

i had 2 family members die in thei 90's both were former royal navy who smoked strong unfiltered fags and chewed chewing tobacco. then i had 3 family who died in their 40's of cancer, they did not smoke. no they did not share a house. stats are there for people to hold jobs, they are irelevent, they cover a huge range but as far as people go its not accurate.
people 10 yrs ago could have been cured by what we have now, even a heart transplant is quite normal now. kidneys.lungs.brains things we can fix now they could not fix then. but stats dont show that. my cancer would have killed me in 3 months, now well lets say i am still here (some may argue that)
dont believe stats, dont google illnesses, your body is your best doctor, your mind and desire are your best surgeons.
believe in the stats, you are wasting your time, listen to your body, you are giving yoursely some backing.

if you want to be around eat what you want, drink what you want (all in moderation of course) just get normal exercise and water.
if like me, you dont want to be around, dont screw it up,it is your body, nobody else's.

pass a homeless person, just say hello, thats all they want, look at your body bits guess what...they have them too. clothes we know we will never wear anymore, they will.

do what you can or want to do today, dont look back in 10yrs time and say," i wish"

dont just think of good times...make them.
you have nothing you say? then how are you reading this?
laugh at me if you wish, i will be pleased you got a laugh, just dont think that what i do was stupid, i am alert, aware and i hope that everyone who reads this, realises how much they have.

please enjoy your lives.

Right, better to drink excessive coffee or take a deadly prescription medicine from your doctor or use benzene laced bath/body products, or get drunk every weekend or consume lots of high calorie foods, or, even better, sit in the drive-thru waiting for your high calorie food while breathing in the carbon monoxide from the other cars idling before and behind you in the line. Or you could go downhill skiing for your health, in season of course, and break a leg or break your back. There are a thousand ways to die.

There should be a "go away" icon to click instead of just "like, love, funny, sad, etc.".

or consume lots of high calorie foods,
...And especially if you keep going for the high-fructose corn syrup type of hyperprocessed foods. Or fresh strawberries that contain something like maybe 15 different types of pesticides each one of which is still presumed "safe", when the reality is that everyone (and especially the self-professed health experts) "forgot" to test what chemical reactions may occur as a result of combining multiple pesticides all conveniently on top of each other. Meanwhile, flavored nicotine gets the ban, whereas I don't see people rioting in the street to get flavored alcohol banned permanently from the shelves.

What's more, the guy who originally made the claim that nicotine used in absence of burning tobacco smoke causes faster heart attacks was Stanton Glantz, his "science" publication was retracted from Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA) because, essentially, the publication was a bunch of fraud. Finally, a word about "nicotine addiction". The most quoted evidence to support the claim that nicotine is addictive is a publication by Neal L. Benowitz, M.D. that appeared 12 years ago in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2928221/
Now, if you've watched the documentary movie titled "You Don't Know Nicotine" by Aaron Biebert, then you'll also know that Neal L. Benowitz himself has testified that nicotine by itself [in absence of the smoke from burning combustible tobacco cigarettes] has never been shown to be causing addiction in any way, shape or form. The same cannot be said about drinking fruit/candy flavored alcoholic beverages. In the US, alcohol consumption has already been banned before. The US gov't intentfully poisoned people who still continued to drink the stuff. Enough said.
