How long does a new "Aspire Nautilus bvc 5ml tank" last- before burning up all your coils?

If I were going through coils as fast as that, I would suspect that I am not priming them properly, or that I am vaping too much of the juice out of the tank before refilling.

I used Nautilus Mini tanks for years, along with Kabuki clones that also use Nauti coils, and I could get weeks out of those coils. Once in a while I would run across a dud right out of the box, but basically they lasted me a really long time.

I would vape a 1.6 ohm coil at 12.5 to 14 watts. Your wattage level is obviously not too high unless something is wrong with your mod and it's actually putting out a lot more than 9 or 9.5 watts.

Most of the liquid I used was either 70/30 or 50/50 (pg/vg).

I was also terrible about cleaning tanks, and did it only rarely, but it is true that the juice I was vaping was probably not as heavily flavored as what you're using.

All it takes is one dry hit and the coil is ruined.

Oh yeah..I top off my tank when it's still 1/2-3/4 full, & use a 50/50 VG pg mix + flavor concentrate only. The coils are listed to be used at 6-11 watts..so that shouldn't be the problem. I also prime the coils well..
Maybe it's just because I vape a LOT since I am home all day on disability. . ?

I vape 9 Watts, 1.6 bvc authentic coils..BUT..just cleaned my tank for the first time. I had bought a backup from Vape Shop, but for some reason, every time I refilled my tank and put it back together and screwed it on my vaporizer different ways, the air hole that I need ends up facing a different direction, downhill, flooding the tank- whereas my original starter kit from Rock Bottom vapor, the air-hole I ALWAYS use-is in a different place on the tank no matter how many times I put it on or off. I don't understand why they are different, so ended up having to write Vape Shop to return their's, and order another startestarter kit- since Rock Bottom vapor doesn't carry a tank only- in hopes of another tank from them will be just like the 1st.

I found what ended up being inauthentic Aspire Nautilus bvc tanks @ 1/2 price = $10, on eBay. .but didn't want to take the risk.

Are their any other coils for the bvc aspire Nautilus bvc tank that people would recommend that aren't as expensive?

My coils were burning up daily bc my tank needed to be cleaned..so I figured that out. But being at home so much I vape a LOT, & have heard of other people replacing their coils every 3 days normally like me-even with a freshly cleaned tank.

Are there any off-brand coils that last as long & are as good as the real Aspire Nautilus bvc coils?
Thanks! Dez

The only non-Aspire coils I ever tried that were any good were made by Steam Tribe and came from Fasttech. The coil housings were gold-colored. They don't carry them any more. The others I tried that were really inexpensive from FT were no good. There were too many duds and the coils that did work didn't last like the others. I don't know if you can find those Steam Tribe coils somewhere else, but you might want to give it a Google and see.

you know, dez, maybe it's time for you to try restricted DTL vaping.
if you shop smart. you can find a sigelei sobra for $30, delivered.
they are phasing them out.
the coils last weeks of heavy vaping.
they cost $12 for 5.
even tho you gotta come up with $30 for the kit, you'd save a ton of money.
you should get 150 hours from a coil.

I already have another aspire Nautilus bvc tank kit on the way, and stocked up on "100% authentic" coils from different vendors. . But I will see what comes up on Google and the best site for finding the cheapest prices for vaping stuff.. vape vapecrawler.Com .

ADDITION- @nadalama
Can you copy & paste this into a conversation and send it to me for future reference..since this site doesn't let you SAVE FAVORITE posts as links you can label and refer back to like makeupalley, where I have over 35 labelswhere I can save posts?
@5150sick -Hint Hint..pass that idea up the chain plz?

PS- Anyone interested.. makeupalley site has many easy to use forums..(none for vaping unfortunately)..but tons of Awesome info & Gurus on every forum aka board.. if anyone has any questions on any of the forums/boards-like: diet/ makeup /cosmetic procedures / a coffee shop any-topic discussion board /exercise, etc.. + is VERY USER-FRIENDLY.. (unlike Reddit, where mostly teenagers vote up ignorant posts & vote down real evidence-based information, until you are unable to even post a question. -I HATE REDDIT!)

No..I run the 1.6ohm at 9 or 9.5 watts and that is correct. Thanks.
I meant running the tank out of juice. Or super low, thus possibly shortening the coil life.

I would try that..but I am LOVING my current 5ml aspire Nautilus bvc tank.. & just ordered a 2nd starter kit w/it from where my 1st came from.. so I'll have a backup for when I clean mine..and got tons of packs of coils right now.

Does anybody know of longer-lasting coils for my current tank? I know that there are several aspire tanks that have coils that are also compatible with my 5ml Aspire Nautilus tank also..?

**I wouldn't mind trying a coil or 2 from other types that give good taste- (tons of smoke not required), if they tasted/worked as well, & lasted longer.

If I could get several versions from the same vendor, it would save me on shipping too..?

boil them in hot water for 10mins and let them dry

This works for you? A store employee I am good friends with told me there is no way to rescue burnt up coils..

I will try that out though, and maybe start keeping my old ones in a plastic baggie to boil several at a time..? Are you able to clean them and use them more than one time? Thank you

I think you might be thinking of the Atlantis tank. Atlantis-style coils can be used in lots of other styles of tanks, and lots of other makers produce coils that can be used in Atlantis tanks. The Nautilus-style coil isn't nearly as prolific.

Aspire has produced a Nautilus 2 with 0.7 ohm coils that can be used in the regular Nautilus, but to me it is very nearly too hot to use for MTL vaping. Also the Mini Triton coils fit the Nautilus. Actually if you can find them, you may want to try the 1.8 ohm Clapton coils that were produced for the Mini Triton. Those are some good coils, and Clapton wire does last longer than plain higher gauge round wire. (There is also a 1.2 ohm Mini Triton coil that will fit, but the 1.8 ohm is interesting because it's made with Clapton wire.)

ETA: Looks like myfreedomsmokes has them:

Can you also tell me which one is the most similar to the 1.6 bvc coils that are made for the Aspire Nautilus 5ml tank? Thank you so much!

Not a very good suggestion if you go by how many members have told horror stories about Vape Shop Employees who knew basically nothing.

Are you meaning any vape shop..or the online store called Vape Shop?

I was referring to most Brick and Mortar Vape Shops but online can also be sketchy. Just look at some of the threads about some of the online stores, granted not all but some will not even respond to an email or answer the phone. My favorite B&M Vape Shop I got a guy fired and there is one there now I will not even deal with if I need something FAST.

Depending on the quality of the Vape Shops in the persons area this could be a very BAD Suggestion she was given. You need to really look at where some advice comes from.

Agreed, completely.

I did the math early on and figured If I was only getting a few days on a coil, than I may as well get a decent rta and start building micro coils.

I said micro coils got peed on, went to macro coils but kept them tight. Not sure why I stayed tight on them. Other folks like them "spaced" out. Might just be "ooh, pretty tight coil" look for me. I dunno.

If anyone has any links on how to clean all of the parts, I would love to know.

Youtube is always a good source of "show me how" to do stuff.

but I do vape a whole lot most of the time, because I am disabled and at home most of the time and find it soothing.

Shhh. Just shhh. There is no reason to explain, justify or excuse here. Nobody here seems interested in judging. We all come from the same One place where we're all brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, mothers (mamas), fathers (daddies). We don't see color, how you believe, how broken down you are, your political party, who you crawl out of bed with ... none of that matters to us. Sure if you're down, we're here to lift you up again. ...

Fall again, we'll hang back let you try lifting yourself but if needed we're still here. We do this because love has won and won without any fight at all. Here we're all freaks, dorks, weirdos, fools, dummies. It's alright though because here we find grace. Here, we're not judging you. Only little thing that matters to us, see you try for yourself, see you maybe help others. This is what love and grace does, brings us all. So, shh, don't apologize. We don't need it and you don't need to "cut" yourself down doing it.

If you want a deeper clean I would soak it in vinegar or vodka then repeat the hot water rinse.

Ja, bring vodka. I toast for love, let it keep winning. :)

I think there were sub-ohm, but I'm not into sub ohm, and it seemed to me to be a very tedious & exacting job, that I'd rather just buy the coils.. since I am saving so much money making my own juice.
I'm saving at least $100 a month, if not more by making my own juice. Thank you all for encouraging me to DIY juice!

Oh but you can save so much more honey. :D I have spent about $200 to eh, maybe towards $300 over the last two years for vaping gear. I might have spent about $100 for juice, made up already juice although unflavored so I can "cheat" at making my own flavored juice when I do want it.

Here's my cheating system. I use maximum vg juice because for me pg is okay. *chuckles* I don't like just "okay" so I use the vg, it makes far better volume in vapor, more robust vapor too. That I get at 18mg per ml in a 1 L bottle/jug. I then break that over into a 240 to 250 ml plastic "transfer" bottle. I then like using a mod that houses 10 ml bottles. I can do math for base 10 more easily than anything else.

Say I want 10 % flavor in my juice, I know I need 1 ml set aside as flavoring out of 10 ml. well, I only use about 9.5 ml in the 10 ml bottles to accommodate the squonking tube. Still I average to a 10 ml bottle, there's not enough difference for me to be concerned over. I'm no gourmet, maybe a cook but never a chef. Rather stay a cook too, chefs go getting all lost in paperwork.

So my cheating DIY juice secret is out. Oh damn, hurt my feelings bad if somebody copies it. *lol* I probably didn't "invent" the idea either, it's probably been around longer than even vaping, like watering down vodka. *grins* Never have claimed I'm original. Bah, never would either, I write, we steal ideas all the time. Ideas though are not property, they're too abstract until formed into narrative. Then, you can copyright a narrative, if you really want to ... Why bother? some writer will come along, read the idea behind the narrative, steal it.

I save more money on buying wire, more on that later. ...

MTL is Mouth To Lung vs Direct Lung type of vaping.
MTL is more like how most people smoked cigs.
for the cost of 5-6 factory coils you can get 6 months worth of wire and cotton.

Uh huh, actually at what she is paying per pack of assemblies ... I might get a year, eh, maybe two of wick, wire/coil/s. More later though, ... :)

I'm paying about $8 - $10 a box for a 5 pack of the 1.6 right now.. for the Aspire Nautilus bvc, 1.6.

Ah here it is. I'm going to estimate here and say a 1.6 ohm micro coil is probably running a 1.5 MM inner diameter. Hm, going to guess and say it's Kanthal A1 wire as that seems sensible material. I can get a 30 ft spool for about $4, think a 250 ft spool for around $7 maybe $8 at the most, depending on the AWG of the wire. I use a jig to wrap coils around, it cost maybe a buck and has wrapped um, erm, countless coils.

The company manufacturing your coil assemblies is seeing around $7-9 per box of coils it ships out to customers. See how that adds up? I can get over 200 to 300 coils if using a 1.5 mm inner diameter for each coil. If I got an assembly outer shell, I could rebuild the coils, drop a fresh one in the shell then put the assembly back in an atomizer for use. The assembly shells sell for pennies on the hundreds, or thousands.

They also got machines to wind out coils to near perfection every time. But they don't get perfection enough of the time to warrant the extra "mark up" pricing they put on to customers. All they're required to do is have maybe six folks on rotating (three) eight hour (three eight hours in a 24 hour day) shifts go by check the tolerances on the machines, adjust if needed. The companies are not even bothered to pay workers a good wage. Understandably so too. Soon enough they'll let AI loose to automatic the factories churning out coils more. And unlike humans the machines go 24/7 without illness, need of benefits packages, more pay.

So, do something human. Learn to build your own coils. It's cheaper in the long run, as well as it's a skill you can hold fast to later on. "Damn, wish I knew how to make a coil for this refrigerator's compressor. we'd have a fridge for the medicine we need." "Hey, wait I know how to make electrical resistance coils. Bet I can make up a coil to work for this. Let me store some food in your fridge?" "Well hey, sure. Get me up and going and I'll even let you have a spot for growing veggies if you want."

Use skills to barter for goods, services and vice versa. Screw money, it's only money. Have a skill? You can always eat, find shelter, have clothes, wash up, be safe.

Anytime you have an issue with a tank YouTube should be your first stop. You can get a visual of the item in question. Review or breakdown should show you. Building coils to fit back in the casing for those is a Uber pain in the ass so I doubt you'll find someone to do that. They make mtl rebuildable that would be much easier to work with.

Yes, micro coils and my arthritic fingers, not focusing eyes when looking at tiny stuff, my nerves making me punch myself ... *tosses tiny coils out the window* a pox on them. I used to like tiny stuff like that too. I shook but stayed as stable as a rock doing it. Now, I go too damn stable and shake all over doing it. I blame those fools what killed Robin Williams. Nope, don't buy suicide, two of his films back my theory up. Look at What May Come and Best Dad of The Year. He "didn't" talk to his girl Zelda that way. Both movies were rough, about suicide, both said he was adamantly against it."Zelda, I know you're not listening but here it is anyway." Daddies understand "not talking". Daughters and sons do as well, daughters usually more keenly.

If I were going through coils as fast as that, I would suspect that I am not priming them properly, or that I am vaping too much of the juice out of the tank before refilling.

*hugs* Love you, bright eyes. :) I agree, would trying to figure out what if any user issues were going on. And no, that's not judging. I have had all kinds of fun figuring out "gee, I was putting the battery in wrong' or "ah, so the juice flows up this tube like a chimney but if if gets on that circuit, erm oops." People make mistakes, it's how we learn, grow. :)

I would think mayb you were running the tank to low. I know smok coils had a min line on it.

I see how you're doing over here, drinking the punch Bright Eyes up there is mixing up. :) Just watch out you don't get slipped the ambrosia instead. *chuckles* Wind up wandering around somewhere in central Mongolia and seeing your old self move out to Europe.

Tanks themselves if SS and Glass last pretty much forever unless threads mess up or you run over it with your car or somesuch physical abuse.

* now has to go look up this Somesuch guy, show him what real abuse can be * F*&ker won't mess with @The Cromwell like that. I'm all kinds of way too happy now for Anysuch, much less Somesuch to be fouling with my friends, family. I'll treat them to abuse right back until THEY like it and want more, and come to understand my joy. :)

I didn’t use factory coil tanks long though. I did the math early on

The old Smok or Kanger Pro tank coils were alright, only ran about a buck per coil assembly. Still though I agree costs on those things kept creeping up like the sneaky and aggressive red wasps.

Yes! I discovered it. The board has a 1,000 character post limit. Yay! I will now go on and forget it promptly so as to bitch about it next week in posting the 20,000 word missive on the pangs of ice cream brain freezes. Ha! :)

Not left either, although I have been left by those you'd not expect to leave you. I just laugh. Those idjits forgot they taught me to be tracker/hunter/finder/survivor and I'm damn good at it. Lost? Not a problem, I stay lost, makes living more fun. :)

I have a QUESTION FOR EVERYONE - what is the "Aspire Nautilus bvc 1.6 coil" scratch-off code supposed to look like, when you do the scratch-off code and search for it on the Aspire website?

I have seen some boxes with different formations of letters.. some that are all numbers, one that looks like it is from another country, & some that are all numbers and some that are a mixture of numbers and letters, Etc...

Can anyone tell me if there is one specific format that they are supposed to use?
And I have a set of boxes where it looks like a regular SKU number where there is a big number on either end of a smaller set of numbers also..??

Can anyone show me a picture of what it's SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE?

Because I have different boxes..from different companies..all claiming to have only authentic gear, but the scratch-off code looks different on different boxes.

I don't mean that the numbers are different, I mean that they look like they are in different formations, & in different fonts, or have a different amount of numbers in the code, things like that.
Thank you!

Posts pics of what you have Instead of making us Google search or you could just goto the site and I put the codes and see first hand if they are or are not authentic. Or you could Google search. When you have a question Google usually has an answer. Not trying to be a butthole but you can give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or you can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime

Yes I didn't think of a YouTube or Google search. I was just wondering because I don't want to answer them by hand, and not be sure if I am entering it correctly because of how a lot of them look different from the others. So if it says it is in authentic, like it said with one that I did look up on the Aspire website, I want to make sure that it is not saying that because I did not enter the correct set of numbers or whatever..

I tried to upload pictures.. but it keeps telling me that basically the files are too big. They are just pictures from my phone's camera..

But- I was unable to send them to a company in an e-mail also, for some unknown reason.

I never have this problem with any other pictures from my phone.

Well, I was looking online and the new verification system, (but not the second generation new verification system), is the one on all of the boxes I have, and I could not find any YouTube videos that were newer than 2 years old.. which were showing the old system.

So-I tried typing in the number off of my box with the two large numbers on either end- one of which scratched off with my fingernail, and it came up inauthentic..but I tried again and left out the big numbers on the ends.. and it said it was authentic- so it's still confusing to me.

I thought there would be more information and pictures of this online.

Also-I'm on a smartphone, and don't believe that I can edit my pictures or crop them.

I tried taking another picture, & the only thing I can think of as a reason that I cannot upload a picture, is that I have to get so close to the box to get a clear picture of the scratch-off code, that it is making the file size too big.

If you get an app called snapseed you can edit and crop from their. Most phones allow editing as well. Probably a little tick mark somewhere on the pic page itself. You could also get Tapatalk which is what I use to upload pics here as I don't have the patience to mess with url links to pics.

I will Google it and see if there is a way to edit pictures on my specific phone.

I have tried Tapatalk app before, but me as well as another user here, had a problem with it wanting to load another app.. and not loading or working.

Butthole. :D (joking of course)

"But Mr. I just wanted a set of steps," the client told me while I was showing his ten year old boy how to measure stair stringers.

"Well, your boy here he's building them for you. He wanted to know how I could charge you $200 for making a set of four stairs up to your porch. Figured somebody ought to show him a skill since he asked," I said as respectfully and politely as I could.

"So you can give me a discount if he does the work," came the natural question from the client.

"Sure, if you can go on and let us finish up. We ought to be done in the next hour to hour and a half, if even that long." The discount given was letting his boy decide what to charge him and letting it be the boy's job, not mine. I think the boy charged him $100 for the labor.

Always need to be careful doing stuff like that. People get all fussy over the darnedest things. My wife got upset earlier because I pointed out that I just knew she had moved some of my vaping "shit" upstairs, and that me accusing of her doing it made as much sense as her accusing me of moving a homemade vacuum adapter for cleaning her dryer lint trap. She let out a few minutes ago. "I'm going to Mom & dad's. I'll be back in a little while," she called up.

I had located and given her the adapter, after both of us searching all over the apartment for it. I just happen to think, "find out where she last put it, go from there". She said it was always on the microwave. That didn't mesh with me thinking I saw it over the dryer on the shelf. Then, I recalled it was some hosing there I had seen, not the adapter. Opened the cabinet over the microwave, moved a few items aside, "presto, here hugo."

I'm still the butt hole though. *shrugs* Who knows which of us put it up there? I couldn't say with certainty, so won't say. She'll see that as me being mean, insensitive, a jerk because I'm blaming her. Trouble is I don't blame her. Sure it was frustrating to have an impromptu "spring cleaning" to find a thing. So what though? Life happens, stuff goes misplaced. Does it matter who wears blame? Nope, because there is no blame. Now, what I will fuss at and blame her for is not giving title of Dog for finding her misplaced adapter. Today has been odd, seems I keep stubbing my toe with her.

I play with an aloe plant we got. Wife has named "her" Henreta. I call "her" Joanne, Cindy, Shelia, (you get the idea). "Just stop! She is Henreta! You'll make her not grow." *shaking my head* Yep, dog it might be and in the dog house I may go. Oh well, it'll teach me for not respecting her days off i guess, if that's what I'm doing, which I don't think it is but ... yeah, I'm butt hole today.

Bless your heart, it must be like living with an alien. I'm quite sure that is how my husband feels a great deal of the time.

Well no, it is simply that I am here most of time off to myself. i keep the house up well for her. Being objective and honest, yes she brings stuff and plops it where ever. I don't fool with moving it because as sure as I do, yeah ... So then she needs to do something like cleaning her dryer trap out, on a day off, and not having what she needs right at hand ... of course she's going to blame me. I'm the only one here other than Shrek and he don't count.

Of course, it is likely I moved the item and forgot I did. But thing being she put a tray up on the microwave last week, having brought it in. She might have moved it then. I dunno, it's of no consequence to me, fix the problem and don't toss aspersions. I had told her though to "let me look". Then she got all pouting and standing right in my way.

Tip: A man says "let me look", lady/whoever needs to move from where they is and go on to another place, letting man have clear head space and space to stand there and look. This is typical man speak, we figure everyone speaks it, it's simple. "You there, move away and let me look. You "there" won't help me. I need to be "there"."

Hm, ah ... well yes I now see what you mean about alien. *thuds head on desk* I could have communicated better, solved it quicker. How man of me. Damn.

And the next mistake ... thinking your communication was the mistake. D'oh. Apparently I was making her feel like she was an inconvenience to me. Which just happens to have been what I felt like I was being to her by not having everything at hand for her at a seconds notice.

"I tell ya, ..." My next husband won't be an empath. Yes, husband because if I have to divorce such a fine Lady, I'm swapping back to men a while, again. And no empaths either damn it, this shit of them feeling what I feel then getting upset, sheesh, for the birds I tell ya.

It's a day I coulda stayed in the leanin' rest and been Hell a sight better for it. *shaking my head, chuckling* "Oh woe is me, the humanity of it all!" ... "Hey, wait maybe I do need psychological medicines, .." "BWHAHAHAHA!!! Fuck that." Life happens then you *hikes up big boy pants careful to not crush self* move on and keep living it.

--- Whew. Thank goodness for breakfast for supper. :) We both got together and sorted it out. She had swallow some of her pride and ask her parents to borrow a little money. Went to tell her I disagreed with her having to do, "I know, shut up hubbay," I said catching myself. Her & I barely ever ask her mom & dad, her granddad, family for anything. That's just not us, if we can help it.

The company her cell phone service is from pulled a slick one on her last month. Her promo rate got switched over to the higher rate, automagically, without letting her know. Caught her in a pinch as her sister has been playing catch up in paying her share of the service, but it wasn't all on her sister. The company had done this to both of them. She shares the "subscription" with her sis, mom, dad. Keeps a lower cost open for all of them instead of paying higher fees for individual service.

She was kind of miffed at that, miffed also like me at the general situation of life. yes, we've gotten a bit ahead of where we were two years ago. Still not quite where we'd like to be. Lots of that falls to external forces neither of us can control. Gee, reckon we're like control freaks or something? ;) :) Usually not but when it starts making us both into Kodiak grizzly, watch out. So then she "picks up" on me being irked over it all too, takes that as me seeing her as an inconvenience.

Fifteen minutes of schmoozing later and we both realize how silly we've been. So we both heartily say FTW!

And here we go again with getting derailed.......................

d35.jpg

I'll own it, s'on me. I ought to stay tight on subject matter. I know better. I do not do it deliberate as in "Ha, watch this I'll derail in three posts." I engage and it seems to follow course that's how it goes, derailing. I will do better though.
