I like the Rebel. Where do I get one if I still can? That does look a lot less fragile than the dainty SS. I am afraid if I look at the SS wrong it will be toast and then I will be sad.

Well it looks like VA is willing to "refurbish" my Mod to "like new" condition! I am actually amazed they can even do that! Apparently thus far AFAIK the only cost to me is shipping to them! They are a pretty darn good company after all! That makes more sense actually than picking up a $400 replacement for it since this one was over $900USD.If they can actually get it like it was when it was new I will be pretty impressed, and happy. Although I kind of do not doubt that they can do so. They have very skilled craftsman and top of the line equipment.

Oh yes, I just found the Rebel Mod. The 250C is 199 Pounds. I know I said I would not buy anything else but I can kind of use this. To save the expensive Stabwood ones. Plus something that does not break. I need to think about it though. Ordinarily I would just order it right now but I said I am not buying anything else. I tend to be a Man of my word.

My daily and usable mods are not Stabwood....... The mods need to be tough, lightweight and indestructible.......

The ones that qualify are these...... The Boxer and the Rebel.....

That is a nice R2D2, So VA wants $100USD for shipping! I told them unless they can "make it look new again" I will pass. It is just a beater then.
Yeah most European shipping will cost more than some mods...... Specially using DHL....... They just had a price increase because of new customs regulations.......

I have noticed they sit in a customs regulated area in the country before they ship and sit in another when it arrives until it gets x-ray-inspected and forwarded to your house.......

That's labor intense which means higher cost......

Whoa, £140 is the cheapest mod plus s/h. I’ve only been vaping six months!! One month of those six, I was using Smok since I didn’t know any better. Maybe in a year or so, I’d consider an expensive one. (Sorry, at this point, $100 is a lot!!)

I just sent them a bunch of .RAW uncompressed pics out of the D850. I hope their in box accepts it! I told them if they are not positive they can make it new again I would rather not waste $100 and just order a new one. even though I said I would not order anything else I feel this does not count. it is a "replacement" LOL. Have to justify it somehow! Manny, should I get a resin one so this does not happen again? I just feel that a resin one has no "worth". "worth" as in to myself not monetary value. It is not stabwood!

VA said they could have repaired it but "there would be many repair lines". Plus the finish was ruined. I doubted it would come out to my satisfaction. Then $100 just to ship it for something I would probably not be so happy with anyways. I replaced it with this:

Well the resin have about 50% of the entire mod is resin and the Stabwood absorbs a lot of resin itself......

That makes the mod stronger than a mod that's only Stabwood........

I am pretty sure "good" Stabwood is much stronger than resin. If you drop a Mod, resin "should" crack before Stabwood does. The problem with Hybrid mixes is there is no real mechanical bond and it is very easily broken or split apart. Resin mixed in with wood of course is what "Stabwood" is in fact. I am talking about solid Stabwood meeting against solid Resin. Those IMO are rather fragile designs. Correct me if I am wrong. They are not glued together or anything AFAIIK. Just fit by expansion and pressure. Drop it, you might relieve that pressure, thus cracking the whole darn thing. Trust me I know.

VA makes very good Mods but mine was a dud. I treated it well. I was joking about slathering it with juice of course. I never did that obviously. It turned from a Blonde to an Afro. No racist pun intended. Plus the wood greatly expanded/bulged and cracked in multiple places. That should not happen. They either cured it too long or not long enough. Everyone makes mistakes. Just my loss of course. Luckily it happened to someone that can afford the loss at least. Not some poor guy/gal that saved a year for it. I still trust VA enough I did not hesitate to order another. Look, Manny's and mine Dukes are still fine. That Primo was just a dud. Honestly they should have stood behind it given the circumstances but I guess they are just not saints like Phil from Stabwood UK. Oh well, in the scheme of things it is no loss to me. The price came down to $400 on them anyways so I hardly even care.

Quite frankly I like the new one better anyways. Manny, what would you do to waterproof it? Air brush it with Lucite? I do not use Minwax and do not understand why you folks do. Minwax is the cheapest crap that there is. Lucite is the absolute best. I could also just use synthetic spray wax. A lot easier. It is a hard shell but not as permanent as Lucite. I actually decided Butchers is crap on Mods. Makes your hands all greasy and stink. It is #1 on furniture/cabinets though. I do not brush on. Even if you use a good brush and lose no bristles in it might leave marks with my luck or "build up". I will probably just spray on Lucite.

You are right Manny, VA's coating is like "hair spray" it wears off in a day. Comes looking all nice and shiny, dull the next day. The VA do need to be coated. Honestly I think this one looks almost as good as your DPM that I love and it is smaller to boot. I just need to spray it. Plus I need new 21700's. Mine have no wrappers! in Stabwood it does not really matter(the tube is non conductive) but still a really stupid idea from a safety standpoint. I prefer the LG's over the Sony's but that is just personal preference and what I can get cheap. I can obtain them for less than $5 each. Cheapest you will find them is about $7-8 each retail.

You know what the dumbest thing is? As usual it says it will arrive Wednesday and I guarantee you it will be here Monday. The asshole does not stick around for someone to open the door for the signature though. He does ding-dong-ditch. So I just leave a signature label and hopefully the asshole accepts it. They most usually do. It is not like anyone is going to steal here. First of all there is no one here besides whom should be. Second, blink and you will miss this. It is that well hidden. There is no "driveway". There is a "road" and it is over 3 miles long up to the home. So no one is even coming up here. If the idiot is worried about security he/she really is an idiot! First of all signature in the first place just pisses me off but it is standard fare on expensive goods. Watch it get caught up at customs though. It won't happen I have a customs broker for that exact reason. my shit goes through customs in 1/2 hour always. If you do a lot of business internationally worth having a customs broker.

SS looks the shit as usual! SS is undoubtedly a better Mod than the Primo but I will not use it as much either. I wish we could find a 18650 with great MAH? we can go down to 5A but that is a very bad idea. Yes, I vape at 16W but it should be what it is rated for in case you make a mistake and bump it up before boom!

Sorry for such a long post :)

Well, screw it now that I broke my vow not to buy more shit I just ordered a Rebel SX-550J! I like DNA but it would be cool to have a 550J in the house.

Manny, You probably missed my important question in my sea of posting.
The VA is shiny enough for me, no need to sand, So should I brush on Poly or spray it? Or just use Synthetic spray wax? Spray wax is only semi-permanent but if I screw up I can get it off so no big deal there. In the end it achieves the same thing. I just want it water proof. Also, should I use Lucite since I have it? Lucite must be better than Minwax. It is $85 for a 1.8OZ can. Please try to answer these Manny, Thank you

I really do not want this one to get ruined again. Even though I highly doubt the previous one was my fault. It was defective. They should have stood behind it but they did not. She was very happy to repair it until I said I bought a new one instead, she never emailed me again! Perhaps VA is not that great after all. They do generally make a very good product but I think they have a "short fuse". To begin with I emailed them 8 times in 2 weeks before I received a reply. Although their CS has nothing to do with the product they make. I just would not count on service from them. It is $100 anyways so I say just move on and get a new one if you need it at that point. The electronics Evolv can always fix for free. Evolv is obviously much better at CS.

I could have gotten a Natakari but I actually like this better due to the size. even though it is not as exclusive. I think this one has a very good wood grain. it is 100% Stabwood. not Stabwood mated to resin, so hopefully it is less likely to fail. that mechanical joint where the Stabwood meets the resin can sometimes fail. It most certainly did in my case. among many other things. that mod was a disaster case. I would gather Stabwood is stronger than resin itself. As everyone here knows it is wood soaked in resin Drop resin and it is likely to crack. The wood fibers give it stability in both planes. Being reinforced with the volume weight of the resin it is strong stuff indeed. Strong as cement perhaps!

So stupid, as usual DPD says package coming Wednesday. Confirmed for Monday. Had it been during the week I would have received it from the UK in 2 days! That is good logistics service! That is why I use a customs broker. Always 1/2 hour in customs no matter what it is. Well, I mean as long as it is legal of course. Anyone that does a lot of international business I would suggest you get a customs broker. instead of complain your package has been in customs a week! It is about $500 a year for the lowest tier. Less than 200 packages a year. It might seem like an unneeded expense but think about it, is it worth it?

VTC6 is actually 3000MAH.Same as HG2. HG2 is also a higher amp battery. Sony is pushing it. I do not mean to be a jerk though. I prefer the HG2 just because I can source them less than 5 bucks each. Lowest you will find is $7-8 each which is also the lowest on the Sony's. You have to watch out though. A lot of fake Sony's. Safer with HG2 as a lot less fakes.

Do you guy's like this? Nice woodgrain but it looks to me like an amateur woodworker put it together? It is also quite large which is why I did not get the Natakari also from DPM. Although I think the Natakari does look much nicer than this one? This is his newest creation.

Don't get anything with Lipo cells....... My advice........

Just use your preffered wax if the mod is shinny enough just several layers of a good wax is enough........

Batteries Sony are my preffered, I have VTC5 that are three years old and still hold a stable all day charge......or brown LG not the yellow LG's.........

The Green MXJO batteries do damb good........ They haven't let me down !

No I do not like LI-PO's. The fact you charge them in a Mod is stupid. Supposed to be charged in a fire proof bag. Just because something is "adopted" does not mean it is safe. LI-PO's do not smoke like LI-ION. They violently explode. Very dangerous shit. Plus I just hate them anyways. All the top RC run LI-PO. I tore them out and run NIMH. Lower performance but maybe keep my arm or something. Yeah, I wrapped the batteries. Manny, I never saw MXJG before. Learn something new every day. Yes, the Brown LG I can get for about $4.90 at an electronics supply. Cheapest on internet is like $7-8. Only reason I prefer them to the Sony's. No doubt the Sony's will last more cycles but at that price who cares. Plus the issue with Sony fakes. You never really know if you got real ones. So just wax is good? I do not need to put on Poly? If so that is great news. Since putting on Poly is going to involve Bill whom is sure to try to rip me off again. I will not let him and now there may be bad apples between us. I have actually been avoiding him lately. Trying not to need him for anything. Since he will not be satisfied unless he rips me off. Since I will not let him do so again who knows what happens next. Just wax suits me fine if that is good enough. See, I did not ruin this Mod. VA screwed up. Not only did the wood expand and crack in multiple places but the Blonde Mod turned Black! Plus they are very strange. First they ignored me. Then when I decided to just buy a new one they completely blew me off!. I do not think they are the nicest people in the world perhaps. They generally do make a good product. This one was just a dud, and who ate it I did! So what wax would you use? Butchers is too Damn greasy and stinky. Thanks

Oh Manny, I just realized what you might have been thinking. The DPM LI-MO is not LI-PO powered. I believe it is a 21700 or some other cylindrical battery. I just did not like the way it was put together. Compared to his Natakari and his others it looks very cheaply made IMO and it is indeed lower priced. The way the "blocks" of wood are stuck together instead of a solid piece of wood. Plus it is huge. If I got one it would be a Natakari but I liked that VA better. Plus compared to what I paid for a Primo TI the first time they are a "steal" now. $400 is not a lot for that quality. $900+ was a lot for the quality I got the first time around go figure!

Apparently the 26650 Primo had issues with the battery cap. If this one falls apart I am done with VA. Hopefully not. They are known for top of the line production mods. My dukes, Knights and others are fine. so were yours. You did not have trouble with the battery cap until it was sold? I guess it is hit or miss with them just like anything production. That is why it is best to go the extra mile and invest in a good custom. I just like the Primo TI but if it fails again you can rest assured I am not replacing it yet again!

Quite Frankly Asmodus/Ultroner is probably the most solid production and they are cheap. Especially with their sales all the time. You get an EOS for $60 or whatever cannot complain about that. Thor II is not so cheap though. It is like $300USD. Still cheap compared to a custom though. The Thor II is a nice Mod too IMO. Never had a problem.

They cannot compare to the likes of Java,SS, Top Hat ETC though. I do not think they pretend to either. Even Carlos Creation or Wapari is way above those. I own all of those. they are much nicer indeed. Oh, well I do not own a Java of course. I could not deal with that LOL.

I have a bunch of VRK's. They are good. They are not a re-label either as some people think. Manny, isn't your big 400 watt Mod or whatever LI-PO? I thought you like that one? I agree, I personally hate LI-PO's. You mean those cylindrical batteries you showed are LI-PO? They are usually a flat package of 2 or 3 cells? They can and will explode very bad. LI-Ion just mainly smoke out when they vent. The only way they explode is from pressure if the battery cap has no holes. See I like that box above. That DPM is put together out of glued pieces. I do not like that. That is probably why it is much less expensive then the Natakari too.

I sure hope this new VA does not come apart again. Perhaps VA are not as good as I think they are after all? Their CS certainly stinks.

All lipos drop below a charge that won't take charge again........

If you use it daily and recharge daily the lipos hold up well until they swell up and become unstable......

They are a waste of money and a pain in the ass........

Looks cool! The Ace of Spades design is nice. I never heard of VKRs, but then I really didn’t think about replaceable batteries at all until about 3 months ago. I didn’t think I could handle VW and external batteries, but then I got an Aegis Solo and it was really easy. Considering that I quit smoking 4 months ago, it’s not so bad though.

I'm glad you quit smoking, I'm going on (9) years no squares....... It's not about fancy mods, it's mainly about not smelling bad and your lungs.....

I wish I could quit Vaping too..... But it's fun.....ha

I’m thrilled not to be smoking! I haven’t gone into the store where I used to buy smokes, because when the guy sees me coming, he starts reaching for AS Gold. He doesn’t really want to believe I quit!
I don’t want to quit vaping either. I think it’s asking for a smoking relapse, for me anyway. I might go down to 1-2 mg from 3-6 mg, though. When I was chain vaping during the heatwave, I got 0 mg juice. As long as I had some other juice with nic, it was fine.

I went to 0MG so I do not OD again as much as I vape. I do not need nic I just enjoy the feeling of filling up my lungs. I hope my new VA is good. If it falls apart again I am done with them We learn from our mistakes, otherwise we are just idiots! Should be good though because VA is highly regarded. Their CS does suck though. They were far from polite with me. YMMV.

If I find myself chain vaping, I use 0mg juice. Sometimes you just need to vape, with or without nic!
At least, you have the resources to give that company another chance by getting another mod from them. If it works out well, you’re in luck. If not, nothing really lost.
