Since our government wants to save them with cigarettes and facebook and fast food and stuff. Let's have some fun and think of all the ways to save them.

I have suggested elsewhere, drowning them. Have at it, no rules other than dont turn on each other.

I got my first gun at 8 years old. New England Firearms 20 Gauge, single shot break over. I still have it to this day and use it to hunt rabbits. A kid with a gun is only as dangerous as the person who gave it to him/her. I will give my children guns when they can shoulder them properly and I work with a group that teaches responsible firearms handling for youth shooting sports.

Put the little shits into my beloved Marine Corps at 18, for a minimum of 6 years. They'll either come out a damaged, but harmless, quiet member of society, or an upstanding, responsible, respectable Sergeant, that knows the love of God, Country and Corps...that is able to love a woman with a passion that can burn down a rainforest, but can kill his enemy, wide-eyed without hesitation, all the while the only fear to be found is in the bloodshot eyes of his enemy as he chokes on the gurgling sounds while drowning in his own blood...

I posted this the other day, but it fits this thread well.

Here's an idea I just had. I must say I've never seen this before, so I insist any use of it be attributed to me.

Let's take every damn child in the US and put them someplace safe. I'm thinking Minnesota, Michigan or one of those other states no one uses. We kick out whoever is there now, build a camp to end all camps, fill it up with stuff that is Government approved , FDA, OSHA, FCC, NASA, CIA, etc and leave the little fucks there til they're 21. That's when we can trust them to fuck, drink, smoke and kill. Then we send them into the military for a minimum of 6 years to help recoup the cash it took to keep them safe. If we do this, then the rest of us...the vast majority of the citizens... can be free to fuck, drink, smoke and kill without having to worry about all those precious children.

Wrap them head to toe in bubble wrap, seal it in place with duct tape. If you leave open spots for them to breathe, hear, and see, that's entirely up to you.

Put them in a rubber room and lock the damn thing tight. If you've left open spots for hearing and seeing, give them a tv and a radio. Let them watch Leave It to Beaver and Andy Griffith, and listen to The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Feed them fruit if you've left a spot open for feeding. No, never mind, fruit has had bees on it. It's too dangerous. Feed them crackers. No, wait, they might be gluten intolerant. Feed them rice. Yeah, that's it. Rice. No salt, no butter, no spices, made only with distilled or sterilized spring water. No, hold on, there might still be pollutants in the water.

You can't feed them actual food. Work with your local Big Pharma company to develop a special sterilized food that has nothing risky about it. In five years when the food is ready, if they haven't starved by then, you can feed them the BP food.

Wait, no, you can't feed them anything. They will poop their bubble-wrap pants and stink up your house something fierce.

Sorry. You, and they, are just shit out of luck. Might as well let 'em vape.

Or better yet...here's a novel idea for those that choose to bring a child into the world...actually be their fucking parent. Your job isn't to go out to the club. You can do that in 20 years after you've done your job to raise the crying, breathing, pooping thing you chose to give life. You will not be perfect or succeed in every aspect and yes it is hard. Don't try to be their friend. Let them fail. Let them loose. Let them get their ass kicked a few times and them teach them how to handle those situations in a positive manner. Teach them the world owes them nothing. Teach them to work for what they want.

If that fails drowning them may be an option, but throw yourself off that bridge too because you failed to do your job.

From what I see of the youth of today, this country is doomed.
I'm sure our grandparent's generation said the same thing about us.

Great post Don, right on the money. Yes, I'm sure others said the same things, but honestly speaking, I've never seen a more entitled, sensitive, sissified pansy generation than those of today. I could be wrong, won't be the first time, but I'd wager that I'm not. Hope you're feeling better.

I agree there are many like that, but not all. What really stands out to me is that young people just don't know how to do so many things we do. I'm talking what we consider basic tasks. Their lives are so much easier than ours were at that age. One result is they aren't as tough and resilient and they give up easily.

Most millennials and younger have never worked with their hands, learned any builders skills or done any kind of manual labor in their life.

That's why "craft" shit is so popular in the last decade. It used to just be called homemade but since no one knows how to do anything themselves anymore, they give it a fancy name and then charge you to death for it.

I'm always impressed when I see a young tradesman/woman, especially a good one with the right attitude and sound work ethic. It makes me hopeful for a future, Imagine if we had more people going to trade schools and doing apprenticeships to become electricians, mechanics, engineers and builders and fewer people going to college and just getting useless degrees that qualify them for nothing but being a Starbucks barista.

Im only in my late thirties and I can't think of any generation younger than my own where people had all sorts of different jobs and learned many different skills before they fell into their career. Now its all planned by counselors and by the time kids hit high school they pretty much know what kind of cubicle they will sit in for the rest of their lives, Thats some depressing shit. Maybe thats why everyone wants to control everyone elses lives.

Misery loves company.

You are both correct, but I also see it as the cost of an ever changing world and who changed that world? We did. The kids who grew up n the 70's and my generation the 80's kids.I'll also repeat myself and say that I know our parents said many of the same things and felt the same as we. My mother is a Baby Boomer (71) and she absolutely abhors technology. She refuses to own a computer or s smart phone. We can't imagine our lives without them.

To expand on my earlier line of thinking, even with today's kids some are and will be more ambitious than others. I've seen it for year in my work with Scouting. Only a small percentage of scouts ever achieve Eagle, yet thousands of Eagles are earned throughout the country each year. @jwill You are one of the most ambitious people I know. You work very hard at many different things. Some are more successful then others yet you continue to add to your list of talents that support your livelihood.

The kids with talents and who will learn skills are there even though we may not see them and many of those skills will be different than what we know. and as such we may not recognize them. Just as my mother knows that computers and tech isn't going anywhere but it's not what she grew up knowing and it's uncomfortable for her. Us 70's 80's and 90's "kids" have always had rapidly changing technology. The kids today have technology that's even more rapidly changing and it's what they know and at some point their tech will outpace our ability and desire to understand it. I have 2 teenagers and I can honestly say that I don't understand them, but they really aren't that different from my young self.

Sorry for the rambling. I've had no sleep and I'm hurting and am out of pain meds.

It’s the morale duty of every generation to moan about the one coming next after them, good to see no change there :giggle:

Kids don’t choose, adults do that for them and who they learn from, the cycle is perpetual.

when they grow they decide to keep, change or undo what those adults did before them...I personally can’t blame kids for adult failings that’s short sighted.

lead by example and instil good morals, the lessons they are learning right now is how to make scapegoats of the young generation in the name of change, how to remove choice, how business die out, what’s real and what isn’t and the irresponsible media controls, how to blame others, make everything so complicated to connect it all up in the name of progress, how to replace people with technology, how to argue and not achieve anything in government.

This won’t help give them good grounding when they explore and eventually go on to lead, they get a shit ball to unravel and make the best of it from.

It’s little wonder younger generations are far more interested in self promotion, short attention/gratification gains and easier communication methods, “let technology do it for us” because everything around them is just marred with ever more increasing complexity and uncertainty.

Adults made that....and added to it over many generations....where does it go from here is the question...do the kids keep adding to it, or change it or undo it?

To resolve this flavour ban thing ...adults want it, government saying you can’t because of the kids, companies trying to work in that space offering more and more...the whole thing is a shitball

so where private companies can’t come together to set boundaries, regulation is born without it there is no ceiling, we all know this.

How do you balance all this lot is the question

the answer (for me at least) isn’t removing it, prohibition worked out so well...there is a need there so embrace it, something simple like a central registration system to buy would be sufficient

all companies could sign up and work together towards that aim, yeah data privacy will be a problem but they can build in right to be forgotten protocols, end of the day if it means responsible adults want to vape then they can, companies can hook into one place make integration easier for sales, so they can focus on products, register those new products globally etc it fulfils a need and balances out the argument.

Not only that they have a voice that is stronger to lobby together as one - we are listening and doing something about it meet us half way

Ooh, Ooh, pick Arkansas! My dad grew up in Michigan, on a farm actually, then went into the Navy after working in a screw machining factory, so Michigan got him started in the right direction (the direction he never deviated from)

My idea is to ditch electricity. No motor vehicles, no computers, no automated systems. THEN put kids on a farm - they'd just about all have to anyway, without large combines and mass transport of food. People will remember what it was like to work for food, more literally, and the pride (and good health) that working and reaping instills in someone.

My mom grew up on a farm, too - I'm pretty sure that's the most prominent thing in my genes, a love for good dirt :teehee:

Great idea but pick another state. Arkansas is a beautiful state.

BTW it's good to see you back and posting. I missed learning from you.

Also, being on a farm will do wonders for their health...no more allergies (the weak ones will be buried in the back 40).

About 4 years ago, we were in New Hampshire for a few weeks hanging out. One day we went to a craft fair which was mainly pottery with sellers from around the country. I was horrified at the prices they were charging for clay bowls, cups, etc. Yes, they were well done, but they we're so grossly over-valued, but people were buying them. As a parent of two young boys, my choice would be to get them into something where they create with their hands. It's a hell of a lot better than working in most places.

I actually think with each generation, they are getting dumber, fatter, slower and weaker. I doubt it's by happenstance and they are all starting to look like chickens in a pen, waiting to be harvested. Weak, plump, oblivious and ready to die.

Sorry, I was out of line here.

Sounds like @jwill is not in the mood to kid around.

I'd be more upset than I am if I thought it would do any good.

This whole thread is a place to vent. Vent on. Its laugh or cry at this point, so we might as well laugh and joke about killing children (which we all want to do).

My mood is sour about all this because I love vaping and enjoy things the way they have been.

I will also be losing a whole bunch of money here very soon. That does not make me happy at all. Fortunately, it will not bankrupt me and I will soon be in possession of the largest personal vape collection anywhere (reasonably assumed, anyway) and all of this helped me figure out what I really want to do and what my next move is. That has a tremendous amount of value.

I knew the store was a risk when I started it and its been fun but the customization of stuff is what I really enjoy and will end up with several patents and likely a couple of new businesses.

I can't say I totally understand because I haven't been in the seat you're in. But I did think about that, realized that to you this is no laughing matter, did not want to seem insensitive to what I'm sure must be a gut-wrenching experience for you. The timing would never be good, but I imagine that for you and many other business owners, it must particularly suck, the way this is all going down, and the speed at which it's happening.

I have failed way more times than I have succeeded when exploring business ventures and to be fair the store was profitable at 5 months and 2 weeks and we never had any debt. I am not going down in flames with a negative balance, just all of the mods and stuff I am sitting on will not be profit. I will have to vape a thousand or so bottles of juice and use all of this stuff instead of selling it.

We can rally the troops and help you with some of that. Is anything pending in Texas now that you know of?

As soon as I can I will come to you for one of those copper Axials for sure.

Also, @jwill, please clarify something for all of us if you can.

If I order a bottle of e-liquid from you, does the sale take place where I am or where you are?

If there is a ban on the SALE of flavored liquids in New York and Michigan, can you still ship into New York and Michigan?

I am not in a particularly dire situation frankly. I can offload a fair bit of it rather easily and what I have to eat I can write off as a business loss, which i will be doing.

In Texas we are raising the age to 21 and there is nothing else in the works that I am aware of.

Gov. Abbott is a principled conservative and believes in a free market so I doubt he will be trying to enact any panic legislation.

Texas was not part of the MSA, they have nothing to gain by shutting down vaping. You may luck out.
