Details, like where you’re currently stationed, as well as what branch of the Armed Forces would be nice.

I have the upmost respect for anyone who is serving or who has served in the armed forces for either of our countries. Unfortunately there have been too many douchesbags coming on here making false claims. I have no reason to doubt this person aside from one flag in the post, but going forward one way to protect ourselves is to ask for an email from the person from their military email. If I'm going to send something I'll PM my email address and ask for a reply.
A reply from .mil is almost impossible to fake and any service member has no problem sending an email from there.

It would be appropriate to introduce yourself in the new members forum. Give everybody a chance to get to know you a little bit. If I'm not mistaken this is your first post is it not? Yeah that doesn't look real good on your part my friend. If that is the case.

My hubs is an AF vet and a lot of people in our family served. That said, after the recent fracas with someone here asking for help etc, it’s only right imho that we cover our asses a bit. If someone says they can’t use the dot mil addy because of confidentiality issues, I’d suspect them pretty much. Good suggestion, btw.

Wow, thanks guys. These issues didn't occur to me at all until you pointed them out. I'd love to help someone out who's actually a troop in need. And I don't think your requirements are too much to ask. :)

It wouldn’t usually occur to me, either. I try not to be a suspicious person, but we did have one new member asking for piffs and trading unfairly ( to be kind about it.)
We should check if someone is on the up and up, imho. We’re not a bunch of naive vapers here.

That's the sad part, we shouldn't have to think that way. Unfortunately a few scumbags ruin it by coming on here and pretending to be an active service member or vet.

IMO there should be severe consequences for anyone impersonating a current or former soldier. Either real jail time or hell, fly them into a hot zone and let them see what the real heroes do on the daily.

Remind me never to get on your bad side, Boss! Lol j/k. There should be some kind of punishment though, I agree. My hubs hardly even talks about being a vet, unless he’s talking to another vet.
It just seemed to me that the last shmoe that tried to put something over here knew that most of us here really support troops and vets, and tried to profit from it.

it is a fairly common scam on vape boards.

The sad thing is that I’m sure it is common. I’ve got nothing against helping someone out. I just don’t like people who can prolly afford to buy juice or mods trying to get over on us.
I repeat, oh what a tangled web!

Yep but been here a long time. Different human forms. They age and wear out.

You are not referring to past lives, it seems. Only one from your home world? I’d think there would be other visitors, but who knows.
I knew you were interesting!

Only 1 from the Galactic Coalition.
No more are permitted, fear of contamination by a violent species you understand.
I often think that I must have pissed someone off really bad...

It could be that you did, but it also requires diplomacy and smarts to come here like that. And integrity, imho.
I was glad to find out that you were still here when I came back yesterday.:hug:

There is an offense called Stolen Valor that is considered very serious. There are a bunch of YouTube videos of real service men & women calling people out on it. It's awesome! :)

One time a big group of us all donated a bunch of liquid and even hardware to deployed military. I think two seperate people recieved boxes for themselves and their units. I don't even think we got a thank you lol. One of them said they'd take a group picture with the stuff. That didn't happen. I think they got their shit and just ghosted on us. It would have been nice to know that it was atleast shared but whatever..

I honor those serving in the military. But not all of them are honorable I suppose.
Serving in the military does not automagically make one a good person?
I hope they are the minority though.

No it doesn’t moochically confer good qualities on people, sadly.

I am currently deployed with a bunch of friends and fellow vapors. Just wondering if there were any groups or people that wanted to donate any juice? I thought it would be nice to surprise them.
Lots of interesting responses. Yes this is my first time on this site. This month is my four year anniversary in the Air Force active duty. This is my second deployment to UAE. I didn’t respond right away to these because I thought it said (when I posted) that I would get email notifications (which I didn’t). My AFSC is 2A955B. I am a maintainer on the AWACS stationed at Tinker, AB. I just wanted to reach out because I saw other similar post from past years, because I thought it would be nice to my friends. If anyone was actually interested they could have private messaged me and I would have given them at APO. Kind of had to fake the country you are in.

So what do you need in the way of juice, bro?
I guess I was just curious if anyone was interested in sending us some. They don’t sell anymore on base here. But it’s not a big deal. I just thought I would give it a try. But after reading all these post on the thread. I regret even asking.

We’re mostly family of vets or troops here. There have been some uncool people trying to get over by claiming to be vets. Basically we’d be amiss not asking any questions.

More members may want to talk to you tomorrow. Are you allowed to vape when you’re off duty?

There are plenty of generous folks here that love and respect our troops. Their generosity is part of the problem and the reason you got the fifth degree when you asked. People have joined here just to ask for free shit and members here responded with lots of gear only to have them turn around and sell it or keep it, either way people were understandably pissed. So understand their reaction when you joined and your first post is asking for stuff. So be patient and understanding and I’m positive it will be rewarded because we Americans owe our freedoms and liberties to you guys in the trenches, away from your families, in foreign lands doing a dangerous job. Thank you for your service and best of luck to you and yours/

I completely understand that. I just feel like some of the post weren’t actually asking me any questions. Just calling me out. I can vape on and off duty here as long as I’m at a smoke pit.

Thank you, RC. Well said, as well. I’m torn between sympathy for our guys out there and the members here. Anyhoo, I’m glad the responsibility for this don’t rest on my head!

I asked because I’d heard that the USN had banned “ENDS”. So I wondered if the AF was going to follow that brilliant idea.

I’m sure something will be set up for you. Keep your shit wired tight and be safe.
