Where do you see vaping in 2 years?

What I see as likely is virtually no vape shops. Some cigalikes and sealed pod systems sold at various retail establishments. Some black market vape activity but the majority of it related to illegal drug use. some for regular die hard open system vapers though.

I see myself walking thru Wally world parking lot blowing clouds and getting all kinds of looks from everyone and being considered a druggie type...

But in any case I will still be vaping open systems and enjoying the heck out of it.

What do you think the future of vaping will look like in a couple of years?

Edit this is for the US only.

Yeah, I unfortunately have to agree with ya, Crom. FDA sanctioned, BT pod systems. Flavor bans. High taxes on nicotine to screw the diy’ers.

And I’ll be vaping right along with you.

Unfortunately I agree.

I see vaping being something looked down on by the majority. Certainly no local vape shops selling more than pod based systems. Buying online heavily taxed and/or strict shipping regulations.

Anyone with a mod will be a DIYer for coils and flavored liquids.

Unfortunately I can also see people getting hurt from sub-par systems or tainted liquids as well.

Oh and the cost of liquid nicotine getting ridiculously expensive.

yeah if the nic tax passes most DIY types will be buying 30 ml or so bottles of nic.
And there will be black market activity for freebase nic.

Thinking back the first bottle of 100 mg nic I bought was 30 ml from amazon.
And as I recall it cost $10 or more...

I see a lot of DIY even if taxed to oblivion. Even mods, if the components themselves aren't regulated as nicotine products. Unfortunately I don't see things going well for shops.

Agreed underground modmakers will be a minor thing though.
Which is both good and bad in my opinion. Quality may suck on some of them but be better than Smok?

I wonder what percentage of vapers currently DIY? I expect somewhere in the 1% range maybe? But likely lower.

remember vapers are a minority even compared to smokers and vapers on boards like this are a MUCH smaller minority.

hell i have two other vapers in my house and when i talked deeming last year and all the other times. one says Fuck it i'll just smoke it's easier the other went you can diy for me right... i will be fine for about 6 months if i have to diy for 3 no one else has bought nic or even cares.

my girl i will support she helps me but MIL can smoke outside for all i care and i will make sure to voice how she smells and gives me headaches that what burning tobacco does to me now.

i will either go 0 nic or outright stop until i can vape again no pod system or sealed system can keep up with my kind of DL vaping.

Tell them to start buying nic for ya.

I may buy a couple of extra liters to help others with if that darned nic tax passes.

Another thought to figure in on the future of vaping.
The vaping market for recreational vapers is much larger than the market for smoking cessation vaping.
And I feel that the FDA does not support recreational vaping at all.

Of course I started out in the smoking cessation market and progressed to the recreational market.
Well Kinda. I feel that if I quit vaping that I might be drawn back into smoking...
I guess you could say that I and many like are are in the non return to smoking market?

all that they want is to replace there lost MSA Payments thur taxes. for every ex-smoker turned vaper if taxed they will look the other way if the money is the same or higher.

that said the market in less than 2 years time will look like a few sealed systems from big T who dont want you to quit... (Blu or similar)
a few possible heat not burns just as if not more expensive (iqos or similar)
and maybe some NRT that could work but after a while you want another. (hale or similar)

Flavors will be some version of tobacco , menthol , mint from Big T or Diy-ed at higher cost (see taxes comment above)
Nic strength not DIY-ed may be capped at 20 or less for your sealed system such as Juul or Blu (^)

if they learn from TBD they may dial alot back but i doubt it

Yep I expect no nic level over 20 mg to be FDA approved.
Which to me is a good thing. Seems like it would cut down on the youth attraction to Juuling.
I for one would not care if juul disappeared from this universe. They have not helped vaping at all.

I expect the govt to say no CC purchases for vape stuff overseas and really cut into that source of vape stuff.
I expect them to find another way to pretty much kill direct ordering from China besides catching it in customs. Much cheaper and simpler for them.

i too suspect some kind of mailing ban similar to cigarettes all end users will be forced to buy what they can local . heck since there labelled tobacco products now they could just enforce the same as tobacco regulations https://support.shippingeasy.com/hc...0735-Shipping-tobacco-with-USPS-UPS-and-FedEx and that could put enough of a strain on the end user and would help c stores and Big T the most.

Yep I figure about the same. They will use methods already in place, expanded if necessary to cover vape stuff.

If they just did effective age verification to “protect the kids” like they do in the UK, it would be great.
But we don’t have socialized medicine, so they make money from people getting sick. And if a bunch of vapers go back to smoking, and get sick from combusting tobacco, they won’t give a damn. There would be a profit in it.

I just hop that I’ll have enough gear and nic to carry on vaping!

Pretty much agree with everyone else. I'm a die hard as well and have enough nicotine for a lifetime in the freezer (I'm gambling that it will keep). I've been DIY for a while both e-juice and rebuildables. I have plenty of gear to get by, mechanical and regulated mods, RDAs, RTAs, RDTA, also have a good stash of batteries...just in case.

Even have a good supply of wire, flavors, VG, PG, rayon, cotton, factory coils, tanks, RBAs.

Yep...I'll be looking like a steam engine crossing the street with the clouds coming out!!!

I see things the same as most here. I will buy another liter or two of nic before the tax thing kicks in. I don't see flavor concentrates being banned that are marketed as food flavoring. 90% of my mods are mechs and all my atties are rebuildable, I'm pretty well set there.

I'll be out in the parking lot with the rest of you chucking some clouds.:giggle:

I think it will be the people here, and others like us. People who watch vaping vids on YT, I’m not sure. I mean those folks who are still fairly clueless about what’s going down or think it’s all going to go away.

In 2 years I see sealed pod vapes only, sold only in liquor stores like alcohol. They will be heavily taxed. I also see a big black market springing up. Who will be the Al Capone of vaping?
