Fwiw, I am happy with the kindbright af plug I drilled to 1.5mm. I can't tell any difference in it and the 1.4mm. Nice, because I can drill the .8, 1.0, and 1.2 and get 4 usable plugs out of one set :)

Agree. The ignorance is everywhere. I had a guy at work telling me just last night, he went to his doc to get chantix. Doc asked if he had been trying to quit. He said yes, I tried the gum and vaping a bit. Doc said oh no, don't do that, "we" would rather have you smoking. Smh
Keep an eye on that dude. Chantix is way more dangerous than vaping. Freaking doctors...
I asked mine about CBD. "Snake oil. I heard a commercial say take it if you need to sleep and it can give you energy. It can't do both!"
So you based your entire opinion on a commercial. Great.
And yes, I am looking for a new doctor.

Believe me, I know. I tried chantex years ago, it had me all messed up. But, he's a grown man, can believe what he wants, and try what he wants

I did too. The dreams were non-stop, extremely vivid, not disturbing necessarily but non-stop. Not a restful sleep. But when they put the suicide warning labels on the bottle I quit taking it. It's a psychotropic drug.

Yeah. So much better than vaporizing nicotine which is no more addictive or harmful than a cup of coffee.

Yeah, that's basically the way it was for me. I think because my dreams were so real they kept waking me up, so I never really was asleep. Idk for sure, but I remember I was a wreck.

Checking in with my progress down the BB rabbit hole.

My original build in the Xeta was too tight a draw, I used the 0.8mm insert with the 1.0mm chimney and way too tight. So I tore the coil out and rebuilt with the 1.4mm insert and the 3.0mm chimney. About where I want an MTL, but I put in a single wire 28g Ka (2.5mm, 6.5 wraps, 1.22 ohms) and I don't get nearly the flavor I want when comparing to what I get with the Pasito 1.4 Ni coil. It's also a little harsh at 12w. I'd really like to get this to meet or exceed what I get with the Pasito or my Innokin Kroma-A Zenith using a salt nic. Any suggestions? I've got some SS and Ni80 single wire.

Much better with the second setup for restricted DTL. Using a 2.1mm insert with the 5.0mm chimney, 26g/36g Ni80 clapton (2.5mm, 7.5 wraps, 0.71 ohms) at 18w and am very happy with the flavor and draw. No changes on that one for awhile.
Edit: The MTL is using 30mg salt nic (same as Pasito/Zenith) and the DTL is 3mg.

When you say "harsh," what do you mean exactly. Throat hit, pushing in to dry burn territory? Something else?

I like a throat hit, that's why I like the nic salt. But it's either too much of that or a kind of dry harshness but not from lack of juice (at least I don't think it is). I've tried down to 8 watts and it decreases the harshness, but not much flavor. I wonder if it's the kanthal. I've used a lot of Ka before and never experienced this, but now primarily use Ni80/90 or SS316L. I'm thinking that might make a difference.

Trying it at 7.5w it smooths it out but not enough flavor. Maybe it just doesn't correlate to the Pasito/Zenith experience I'm looking for. BTW, it's nic'ing the shit out of me right now. 30mg nic salt at 7.5w? Doesn't do that on the other devices. Hmm. Too much nic?

I was going to suggest that before I decided to find out exactly what you meant first. Nothing wrong with Knthal, but I've found myself sorta drifting away from it. 316L will ohm out alot lower, but will also rise some as it heats up, lowering the wattage through the hit as it does. You might want to try that.

I've been running both of mine with Titanium wire in TC. Twisted 28. Twisting will bring the resistance down a whole lot though, which is probably not what you're after.

In any case, it's tough to get flavor without enough heat. at least to me.

Somebody else can probably tell you about this better than myself. I've been a much higher power guy until fairly recently.

The type of metal your coil is made out will not make any appreciable difference in how nic is vaporized in a regulated device.

Now the type of coil you use can; meaning the totality of the vaporization and how fine the vapor particulates become.

Example:

6mg Smooth salts in my Dvarws and I go through maybe 20ml a day in them.

3mg in my Brocloud RDA set ups, and I plow through 40-45ml a day

I can't vape 6mg in the RDAs but I can vape 3mg in the Dvarw's... but in the end, I am probably getting the exact amount of nic throughout the day.

Thanks, I'll play around with it. May try some Ni80 wire, that's in between Ka and SS in terms of resistance. Should be able to get near 1.0 ohms with Ni 28 with 7 wraps.

Thanks Don. I'm still learning. I'm trying to replicate the MTL vape I get in the Pasito and Zenith with 1.4/1.6 ohm factory coils and 30mg nic salt. May not be able to do it in the BB. Is it possible with wire coils?

Just a couple tips from my experience:

Coils for MTL should be no bigger than 2.5mm, especially for the Xeta.

I find 1.0-1.4 ohms to be my sweet spot with the 1.4mm airflow.

Make sure your wick is snug in the coil, not tight, but there should be some resistance when you pull the wick through.

Did you wash the Xeta before you built on it? Leftover machine oil tastes awful and will make the vape harsh. Ask @~Don~ how I know!

Thanks @R3alJim Shady. I've been using 2.5mm exclusively on the xetas. Snug wick, no leaking and no dry hits that I can tell. It's not the burn from hell, it's just harsh. Hoping it's the Ka. I love the Ni80 clapton in the other build I'm running but DTL so different.

And yes, I wash everything, soak in Dawn for 24hrs and rinse. Getting those little AF inserts through that process is apparently impossible for me. The first set of 4 went into the Dawn, and only 3 came out. So when my second xeta arrived, I was super careful about losing one. 4 went into the Dawn, and 3 came out. WTF??? Fortunately, they weren't the same ones; lost the 0.8 the first time and then the 2.1. Why couldn't it have been the 0.8 both times?

Anyway, thanks for the tips. Trying a different coil tonight.

I don’t try to replicate, it’s a lost cause.

The Pasito pod has a chamber that is what 10mm wide? I have a tiny 1.5mm coil in mine on the RBA, and it’s a nice vape, but no way I can replicate the vape I get with it as I do my Dvarw MTL.

I just find a vape that is acceptable and flavorful.

And yes, sometimes a ultra cheap RBA can out perform a much more expensive item to our liking.

Like me, I don’t care for the BB, been there done that don’t want the hassle again.

I got what I like and that’s it.

Plus the cost investment to get a good vape is still higher than getting a Pico 75 and clone Dvarw MTL (if we compare clone vs clone costs to quality of vape)

Maybe it's the combo of ka and salts in the Xeta? Idk, never tried salts, but I have 2.5mm .9ish ka in mine, with freebase nic and the flavor is really good to me.

Only way I’d grab another BB is if it was dirt cheap, and I mean like $130 max for an authentic

Sounds like you have a good handle on what you're doing. Contact coil or spaced? I'm finding that spaced coils are better for me for MTL, but for subohm builds I like contact coils. Weird right?

Just FYI, this Integra is pretty awesome. Wicking is a little weird but I like it. My only beef with it so far is that it seems like I have to run it at 14.5 watts as opposed to my normal 12-13 to get a similar vape from my other RTAs. It gets a lot hotter at the base too, but I suspect that's bc the deck sits much lower than all the others as the airflow comes in from the sides versus from underneath. No airflow channels underneath to keep it cool. Interesting...

I thought they did a great job of tying it in and making it feel like a part of Star Wars, but established its own identity and felt fresh. Pretty awesome, IMO.

Thanks. Spaced coil on the Ka for MTL. I pulled the coil and put in a 0.96 ohm Ni80 wire, spaced, and it's a much better vape. Put the same nic salt juice in and running it at 14 watts. I pulled the coil up to line up with the top of the post; I think I had the other one in lower than that. Anyway, the taste is there now, much better vape. The 30mg salt may be a little strong but I wanted to try it. May switch to a freebase next but I'm enjoying this now.

Appreciate any comments on the build and wicking. You won't hurt my feelings.

Hmm, the thing I'm talking about is tiny, two in the bag with the bridge?
Oooooh those are airflow rings that fit over the pin on the bottom of the Drizzle coils. Careful with them though. They don't like coming off once they go on. I only took them off when I was done with the coil head by pulling out the pin.

Some routers are just better than others in regards to distance.

Obstructions also play a huge part, location of router too.

Most routers in the past few years are good enough to reach about 75’, older and that range is more like 30-40’

Think of a broadcast signal not as linear, but a sphere from its location out.

They do make repeaters or extenders, but some have a lot of jitter and can lose connection often.

Then you can also buy a new one where there are multiple antennas with stronger transmit and receiving capabilities, which can get up there in price.

But if you have an android device, you can download and app called WiFi Analyzer.

Run the app and it will show your WiFi strengths and which bands work best and have the least interference.

Not sure how savvy you are and if your router has both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, and if it does 5ghz has faster speeds, but gives up distance.

If you lease your router from your provider, might as well ask them for an updated one and request one that can cover at least 125’, then hope you have a coaxial plug near the favorable spot for your WiFi coverage.

I an not tech savy by any means, probably as far from it as you can get but.... Someone told me a long time ago, If your router sits in say a desk cubby against an exterior wall, put a piece of cardboard wrapped in tinfoil standing against that wall. I can now run it on 5ghz and get it throughout the house. Ugly but cheap fix.

I had two magnets come out of a panel. I didn't quite understand the problem @Mykreign had trying to glue them back in, so wanted to check? I only found one of the two, but I just stuck it to the BB then marked the exposed side as the one to be glued in? Not sure if a panel will work with only three magnets, but seems the only shot I have?

Not sure how to best explain it but I'll try. I marked the correct sides with the magnets on the billet box but did not put the magnets in the correct panel holes. All 4 magnets on the billet box are not facing the same way.

3 magnets should hold it on just fine. I used mine with one magnet for a while.

Ok, makes sense. So maybe attach the lose magnet to the BB, then set the panel on there to make sure it's not fighting the others?

Well, I'm beginning to wonder about the salts and the BB. I've used this juice (glas banana cream pie) for awhile as an ADV when I want to go stealth and love it. But on the new build in the BB it's a little harsh. Decent flavor, although not as much as in the Pasito or Innokin. Not sure it's gonna be a solution. I'll run this tank out and try some freebase to make sure it's just the juice making the difference.

All of this. The greatest factors being the quality of the unit and location in the building. I installed a Ubiquiti unifi wireless environment in our church, which is a fairly large 80 year old building and not only do we get at least 4 bars even in the usually deadest spots in the building on all three floors, but also over 100 feet in any direction outside the building. I have a single one in the landlady's house and I can get usable WIFI on the neighbor's porch 2 doors down.

The LONG RANGE UNITS I'm talking about are like 100 bucks if you shop. However, while not super difficult, they are not dead easy to setup either.
