I know I am.
I dont know much about pods, I prefer the older gear over the newer. I give advice when I can, but generally speaking thats just when it comes to ohms law and battery safety, lately.
I guess I found what I like, and am vape happy right there. Its nice not to thirst for the bigger, better, next thing; but, rather wait for good deals on the older gear that I like.

I kinda feel the same. A few new things catch my eye but have learned that I don't need them. From now on the main purchases I'll make will probably be dotmod and that topside lite. Still want to keep up with new stuff just in case but I'm set for sure

The new things that do catch my eye, are generally things that are older tech.
Ie a mech squonker, parallel box, dna box or hexohm

You will like that topside lite. Its not the prettiest thing in the world but it's a good all work day device, that you dont have to baby

Yeah, the new stuff that gets my attention is the occasional super expensive atomizer - and even that is rare, as at this point I have definitely settled into what I like and not that much new stuff makes the cut for consideration anymore

However, I would not say us vets are irrelevant for newbs, mainly because of all the other skills we have that are going to be super important if vaping does indeed go deep underground

The pod people may be in for a shock in the coming months if the deeming regs get enforced to the letter...

Yep we dinosaurs that have prepped and are DIY and rebuildables will continue to vape.
those that rely on factory coils, store bought juice and pods that seem to last around 3 months or so, not so much.

however i expect that sealed pods and cigalikes will be all that the FDA will approve... sometime.

I hope that i am wrong but do not expect the Deeming regs to back off any.

I hate to even say this, like once it's "out there" it could actually happen, but feeling like that is just me being a superstitious ninny...so here it is....I think even those of us who have been sorta paying attention are going to be shocked at what we cannot eventually do.

If we think the powers-that-be don't know that we intend to keep vaping using DIY and rebuildables, I think we're being naive. I think if there's any way to hit flavors, bases, wire, cotton, and ALL OF IT, those powers will try to find it, and try everything they've got to make it impossible for us.

Because as long as we're ongoing, there's a way for a black market to be sustained. Even if it would be small, based on localized vaper-to-vaper interactions, it will be outside the scope of the government's vision of what alternative "tobacco" activities are permitted. It will escape their regulations and taxes. It will not participate in the Big Tobacco Way.

I hope I'm just being paranoid, but am paranoid that I'm not. :) I've very nearly finished buying hardware, and will be moving on to flavors next. I think they'll try to make it impossible for us to buy them eventually.

Just something to think about. And yes, I'm a vaposaurus too. I have a couple of pods and like them more than I thought I would, but have ZERO interest in answering questions about them or doing research or becoming some kind of super-user.

Don't mean to derail the thread, but the reason I did anyway is because of the particular group of vapers I expect to see in this thread. You are the people to whom I'd want to say this, seemed a perfect opportunity.

And flavors advertised as for use in vaping will be hit.
Also any flavorings sold by a vape oriented business will be hit.
Some flavorings such as Capella have long disavowed their use in vaping. wink wink, technically.
However any flavoring companys with any vape usage promoted on their web site will be hit.
FA may be an issue since the promote and also make ejuice in the EU.
And of course any flavoring with vape in their name and such.

Notice the lightning vapes changed their name?
I am concerned about my fav flavoring supplier though. They took vapor out of their name but now promote and sell one shots and flavor kits...

At least that is how I read the intent aspect of the deeming regs.
One can get Capella flavorings on Amazon and such.

We dinosuars seem to be the main ones concerned about the deeming regs...

Kinda like how in some places you have to show ID to buy spray paint or cough syrup :gaah:

Right on!!!

Here in KY one has to show drivers liscence and your purchase of many cold medicines goes in a state register. You can only buy so much in a certain timeframe.. thanks to knee jerk politicos and druggies.

I have a shit ton of mech squonks, tubes, and boxes. The new flash bang feature of the week or month I don't need. I can get by with the atomizers I have. Something would have to be revolutionary and released before May for me to even consider it. Yup, I'm a vaposaur!

The only thing I'm worried about is flavors and batteries. I may snag another liter of nic before the tax hits, but I could probably survive with what I have and go 1mg or no nic. I have plenty of wire and I don't see how they could regulate a cotton ball.

yep they just seized a bunch of websites for selling THC carts and such.
so they have the procedure down now.

I expect CC's to stop covering vape purchases by next May.
I could not get my CC to work with FT for the last couple of purchases. Had been using the same card there for years... And the card is still fine elsewhere.

flavors and batteries should be fine. Just depends on where you get em.
Places like illumn.com and such should not be an issue.

am I a vaposour?...Well after years and years of trying all sorts of stuff....I still have always gone back to vaping on Genisis atomizers with ss mesh wicks..I never could tolerate the vape cotton gives...the only change is.... I use gennys that have tiny tanks and a BF pin.....so there isn't much out there that I give a damn about...actually I find recent vaping boring as fuck, everything made now is some piece of Chinese crap RTA...hell even the number of drippers being released seems to have gone way down.

Hahaha! I stock up on sudafed and ammonia from various group buys throughout CONUS.

. If you can't tell I'm joking consider this bit of seriousness, I have to cope knowing my middle brother is a junkie on that stuff. Would rather he not be. There'd be no way I'd supply him even if I actually knew enough chemistry to do so. I've seen how he treats his daughters when he's strung out. Sorry but no, that ain't right in my view. And @The Cromwell, I know you know I joke a good bit and can tell, this hasn't been for you, or others who can comprehend my humour.

Yes, I'm a vaposaur to answer the question. I use mechs, rdas, external batteries. I've not seen much that's revolutionary as @gopher_byrd suggests there needs to be to look at for buying. I'm kind of looking at possibly getting a dovPo Topside SQ Lite but not so sure on that. Do I really "need" a regulated device? Probably not. I like how it can be swapped from squonker to dripper/tank mode though, that's neat I think. But even so, not sure such a novelty is enough for me to pay about $60 for it. That's three $20 Coppervape mods, which seem to last forever or close enough. Ah well, I'll figure it out by Tax-mas.

I like to try older stuff because I can find it for cheap in clearance sections or on sale. I've found some stuf I love and some thats just okay. A lot of it just gets put away until I decide to try it.

I know what I like now but still like trying new things as well. A lot of vapers seem like they need to grab everything new that comes out. I'm not one of those people. They also sometimes act like the item or product is better than it is because they paid top dollar. I try to not hype something that doesn't have merit.

I guess I would say I am. 80% or more of my vaping is done on older mtl style atty's. I like dripping and squonking, but not all day long. If you took everything away from me other than my 2019 kayfuns and any old mod, I would be just fine. That said, I ain't getting rid of the rest ;) No pods for me. I tried a few, just ok at best, imho.

I am pretty much set myself as well.

But that does not mean that I don't keep up with the new Cool Stuff.

That does not include Pod Systems.

Those are for Pod People.

Just showing my age there!

Not sure if I'm a vaposaur. Been vaping for a tad over 6 years. My vape style hasn't changed a whole lot, I still use a MTL draw, but the draw is much more airy than the little plastic clearos that I started out with. Protanks were the game changer, at that time. Moved into RTAs, and kinda stuck and stayed. Later in this year, I tried squonking for the first time. While I do like it, it's something I only do at home.

I enjoy looking at the newer stuff, sometimes something will catch my eye. Regardless, I'm still a low wattage, MTL-ish draw, but only because of the way I inhale. I do have a pod. Just something I keep in my front pocket, at work. Sometimes you need a vape break before your break, and something that doesn't stand out in your pocket. If pods didn't exist, though, I'd be totally fine. They do not make, or break, my vape life.

3.5 years vaping here not as long as some of you, but do admit I have periods of extreme burn out from vaping (had a bad one this year, and had to take a few months out... from everything vaping wise), just cannot stand conveyor belt releases, and stagnant repackage releases, it pisses me off no end.

not much I haven’t seen or used now and prefer sticking to gear that catches my eye, something a little different or unique, or honed to the best they can make it ...and where that’s concerned my wish list still has things being added to it, so cannot say I’m a Vaposaur just yet.

On the hobby side still have things to check off; I haven’t yet made a regulated enclosure mod, completed a DIY juice recipe that’s acceptable to share, done a forced patina on mech tube etc
...Also really been looking at resin/stab blanks and how to make them, might be the next thing I try.

I’d love to have a go making a rebuildable but I’ve consigned myself to drawing my designs for now, though it pains me when I see stuff that’s really close to ideas that I had. The intake was one like that, I know, I know it sounds dishonest but I swear to god I was working on something close to that at that time and I saw it and my heart sank ...fuck it can’t do it now boats sailed.

Thinking of Vapeosaurs...
Most here must be over 21 since not a lot of angst going on about it.

I dont want to think of how long ago 21 was.
I was told that I was alot of fun back then, although from 16-25 is a total blur.

I'm not...yet. Maybe that should be a new badge.

Like many of you I've mostly settled into what I like and every new shiny things gets my attention anymore. The stuff I like is getting more expensive so purchases will be farther apart. For the most part pods don't interest me. The Aegis Boost has been the first to get my attention.

Nope, I'll give some new stuff a go. If I stuck with just the gear I used ages ago I would for sure be missing out now. So many delicious new DIY concentrates that If id said "nope, im T rex" id never know how wonderful they tasted. Or "nope, im a fossil what I use I use" then I'd never know how awesome many of the new mesh coils are. Id still be using old outa date gear. Bit like "nope, my model T can't be bettered." Um, yes, it can. :)

Still chuckling over the Pod People thing ;)

I have heard that they are normally stashed in gas station bathrooms :)poop: ) until they hatch and then they grab every Pod System they find.

Heck yes. My fave mods were all older ones, I would still pick a DNA over DNA C - colored lights put me off, my DPRO 133 is simple and has lasted me almost 3 years so far.

I really can't dig any mods with "options" - I end up pushing buttons more than vaping because I like to fidget with things. Was always fiddling with wattage, between 66.6 watts or 70.7, etc
