It begins... FDA warns retailers, manufacturers to remove unapproved products from the market

Ultimately, manufacturers that intend to market any of these products—including flavored e-cigarettes or e-liquids—must submit an application to the FDA that demonstrates that the product meets the applicable standard in the law, such as whether the product is appropriate for the protection of the public health. If a company can demonstrate to the FDA that a specific product meets the applicable standard set forth by Congress, including considering how the marketing of the product may affect youth initiation and use, then the agency may authorize that product for sale. Although the FDA is prioritizing enforcement against certain ENDS products sooner, manufacturers of deemed new products that lack premarket authorization must submit premarket applications by May 12, 2020.

Ohh wait that won't work with the virus either.

Has anyone asked the question yet, or given any thought to what the FDA actually means when they use the term "cartridge?"

We define a cartridge, in this context, as a sealed unit to be used inside a portable vaping device like a Juul. Have they specified exactly what they consider to be a cartridge? Because, broadly interpreted and given plenty of leeway by other entities in the government, it could be nearly any tank or other receptacle that holds e-liquid.

I can see where they could consider the RTA inside my Squid Squad as a cartridge. A larger tank or RTA is a stretch, but why? If wire can be a tobacco product, I bet you an RTA can be a damn cartridge.

Have they said anything about cartridges that are sealed as compared to those that are not?

Yep they have defined them pretty well.
This is just enforcement action for their sealed pod flavor ban. they will get around to enforcement on tanks and the rest soon enough.

This is what I don't appreciate at all.

It is a well known fact that children will do anything they are told not to do. It is also known children will find any means to do such things.

Why punish responsible adults for the actions of children? Now, yes I agree parents need held to account for their lack of parenting. That aside, what of those not having human children? Why in Hell are we responsible adults without children punished for someone else's children? That's just plain fucked up in my view.

Do I let any children use my gear? No. Do children have access to my gear? Highly unlikely. Yes I sleep and it's possible they come to my room when I do and take my gear for use, then put it back with exacting care. I doubt it though. Do I promote children using nicotine? No.

So what the fuck gives that I'm rolled up with anyone that does and face the same punishment? I agree with @AndriaD, fuck the Nanny state!

It doesn’t sound like Trump will have support for this. And now he’s too distracted with corona to really help, imho.

Fuck. He's too distracted with how windmills cause cancer and people have to flush toilets ten to fifteen times. I think he'd be distracted if he focused on breathing alone. I mean all his aides can tell you that you're only allowed to brief him with pictures or quick five second videos. From what is said he has the attention span of a gnat.

Long Live Our Wonderful Genius Orange King!

This proves George Carlin correct. All you people who vote, voted for this shit. You fuck everything up by voting. Thanks.

ETA: My apologies for my "Turkish" this morning. I need coffee obviously.

No, I'm still okay. I don't trust people wearing suits in general. Lawyers and politicians to me, a full fleet of buses full of them at the bottom of an ocean, would be a good start. Still believe Ronnie's quote.

"The nine most frightening words in the English language: 'I'm from the government and here to help you'." -- Ronald Reagan

Having met him in person, can affirm he himself was an exception to that. He was actually an Every Man and did enjoy getting his hands dirty right along with the dogs.

Yep, kind of figured it's all about the money and free lunches they're getting wearing suits. It just angers me that their being such pricks over what? Flavored air? *chuckles* Of course, I figure there's a lot of puritans involved too. I mean people are having fun, ye gods be damned someone have fun.

You’re right, we quit smoking with vaping, but we also enjoy it A LOT. Plus, we didn’t suffer like people who use patches or Chantix, or who cold turkeyed, and that seems to piss people off.

Like what right do we have to quit without BP and do it so easily? And then enjoy the hell out of vaping, to boot?

I guess we’re meant to smoke again and like it!

sigh, yes those who do not do something for whatever reason and think that no one should do it and try to force their views on everyone else.

Except that vaping has the potential to save millions of lives. So they’re forcing their views on people at the expense of a great deal of harm to smokers who should quit.

Totally agree with all that. I raised my son already, why do I have to get slapped with the same bullshit as those idiots who don't have the first clue about how to raise a child? My son never got into poisonous substances, for a very good reason: SUPERVISION. Not by a daycare or nanny or babysitter... SUPERVISION BY ME OR BY HIS FATHER! Or, occasionally, by his grandparents.

So they’re forcing their views on people at the expense of a great deal of harm to smokers who should quit.

Recall that during the during the Burning Times a single person could be accused of being a witch. No one in the village would come forward. The Christian witch hunter general would respond and order, "Burn and kill the entire village, God will sort His own."

My point is that people doing this isn't anything new at all. I know that if you look at Wahhabists they believe any not accepting Islam deserve death. Most religions have skeletons in their closets and I'm not writing this as derogatory toward any one religion or philosophy. I am only expressing the point that humanity seems intent, content in fact to accept the dichotomy of "us versus them".

Fortunately there are some whom do not accept that fallacy and realize we are all one and one is all. We though are a minority as much as we use fancy monikers such as Legion, Anonymous and so on which may imply otherwise. Being small in number is an advantage and curse. That in itself too follows within our logistics of Balance and Wholeness, Inclusiveness. We live and work in darkness spreading the light we find within it, eventually we'll have the Inferno that will cleanse our world of the evil ones.

No, we're not militants or fanatics. Quite the opposite to varying degrees. We are pacifists, moderates. We hold objective Truth, Liberty, Equanimity, Justice as sacred for All. And as much as I am a part of such a grouping of people, I am not part of them at all. None of us are part of any group. We help when and where we can then, we vanish into the background and go to what next needs done.

ETA: We ultimately realize only each individual can hope to change themselves for the better. That is followed by the hope that each individual in turn then betters their own world. And we have to accept the fact we can only make or do better, we cannot create miracles.

I accept that but I don't like it. And in not liking it I often feel I'm outside looking in no matter where I'm at in life. Also in having this gnawing feeling even making better isn't enough, can lead one down a nasty path. Those who love you will only go so far with you on that path. Then, they'll turn away knowing it's not the place to go. It truly isn't.

Possibly that gnawing feeling of better not being enough leaves me empty. And I realize too, I could still do a lot better. I'm at a lose though. So much is out of my control. All I can do is accept and frankly I'm growing weary of that. But then again, what more can I do?

Must be why Trump is so fond of using the witch hunt phrase.
Which surprises me since they already found him? :D

Someone once told it was a virtue to know others took advantage of you, and you let them. To some degree I can agree to that philosophy. Another few degrees though and I have strong disagreement with it. In good consciousness it's not right to let those incapable of defense go undefended, or to not teach them how to defend. I see such a thing as worse if not more worse than the crime of oppression.

We should watch our words as you can make swords of them. And you may not be the one wielding that blade, going to trust it won't bite your neck? *nods* And no I'm not a lawyer, but aware of how things come out in washes if you follow.

*chuckling* Oh if only, ... maybe.

That movie is a trip and a half too. It taught me to worry about the sun exploding instead of some silly bomb. *chuckles* I'm still not sure if our Earth is a sphere or flat like in Disc World. Reckon it doesn't matter though. Either way I'm passing through.

What? Those passing through? It would seem unlikely to mislead those unaware of where they are going. The journey is as important if not more so than the destination.

Especially if you consider that nobody is getting out of “here” alive. If you ken what I mean.

It’s...And merry we meet again. Ahem. Lol

Perhaps correctly so. I might not have been intending to be correct though. Maybe I was leaving everything open as a matter of courtesy. :)

My mistake again though, as well. Next time I try subtle flirting, I will go get a huge tractor trailer sized bill board and use it to convey that I'm doing so. Then, it is likely too I'd be better off whacking my thumb with a hammer.

Fun of fun this evening. Hit a deer with wife's car on the way back from laundry. We were both aware but at the same time this doe come out of nowhere and it was too late. Wife let off gas but didn't brake. Poor girl rolled under under us. I saw she was in throes in mirror. We had cars behind us, pulled off about a mile down the road. I could not get back to get her off the road.

Damages: radiator took out, likely $1,500 of fiberglass body work on the front grill/under fender. Her dad come picked up us up after we got the car to a church parking lot. It went red line. Wife decided not to try the push home. Had it towed by a local service to a local shop to get fixed. Oddly her insurance booked her 3 days through Enterprise and they're closed until, .. And the shop to repair the car is closed 2 weeks at least.

So, her dad asked me to check out the lint tube on his dryer in the basement for him. "Don't need done right now, but if you can get it soon." Got in and I went right to it. He had already asked her BIL three times to fix/clean it out. So looking at the tubing, realized it was ancient. We are donating tubing we had from ours which is at least from this century. I'll fix it up tom. & probably go help him do his and her mom's laundry.

Her insurance is really nice. She's a no pay deductible since she's not one of their higher risk clients. I'm sure they'll cover this in full too. From the sounds of her phone conversation with the rep, it seemed that was the case. His first thing was, "is everyone okay?" My wife chuckled and kind of pouting said "no, the deer is dead. I'm sorry." Being a good agent he assured her it was okay that the deer knew it was an accident, but he was asking about the people.

If not one thing, a dozen and if not that, two dozen. And she is now on a two week paid "sick pay" vacation herself. Goodwill closed. Not sure when they'll be re-open. Our gov. Justice closed WV today, unless it's essential it's shut as of 8 PM tomorrow.

WTF is wrong with your governor? There are only 20 cases in your whole state, and no deaths! So he wants to go ahead and cause economic mayhem for the whole state, because of 20 cases! Good god, what a MORON!!!!!

20 confirmed cases. Out of how many tested?
this thing spreads much faster and wider than flu since NO one has immunity to it unless they have had it. And even the immunity thing is not totally proven but early testing looks that way.
You contact it you get it to some degree.

so I looked 20 positive and 610 negative cases so 20 people out of 630 tested? And they only test ones that appear to have it or had contact with a positive test case,
also the test currently in use has a 30% chance of a false negative. per Med Cram.

How long did it take 20 cases to turn into thousands in NY?

Too bad there is never any evidence or facts that back up claims. This means it is just hearsay and basically just fake news.
