True... snake handler churches are convicted as well and so are the ones that will not take their children to doctors and the child dies or the ones who starve the devil out of their children.

Real Christians are very good folks, But not all who go to church or preach are real Christians.

True. I’d think a lot of people who believe in the teachings of Christ don’t need to prove it by going to church. Same thing with any religion though, imho.

i just did some research on the guy and he is a full blown nutcase.

It’s sad that he’s leading his flock astray. All they need to do is not hug or shake hands if they want to meet in a group. So full of pride, imho.

Shoot, the church I attend is now doing strictly live streams. Just the pastor and the worship band streaming live every Sunday morning now.
Why risk the health of the large number of elderly by disregarding safety precautions?
If your church members are loyal, they will watch the stream. And if they tithe regularly, then they know how to do so without doing it in person at worship service.
He's leading them astray so he doesn't miss a chance at a buck in the offering basket.

Yep same with the wifes church. No in person services. However they are still doing community service stuff.
I myself do not believe in any deity or afterlife. However I support my wife in her belief and take her to church things. Well before the virus shut them down and due to her age and health i will not permit her to engage in the ongoing community service things they are doing.
She is however still contributing by making baby quits for a local hospital and such things as that.

I respect everyone,s right to worship as they see fit. I do not respect their 'right' to force their views on others. And endangering the innocent is a very bad thing in my view.

Bah!

Time ye all 'member the day.

188310a5e62614ce70c51e9222d47b75.jpg

And to beat all Dropkick Murphy's are having a St. Paddy's bash starting tonight at 7 PM EST. It's being live streamed free and I'm a sure the 'Boys' will be doing some charitable work with any proceeds from any merch or concert sales garnered today. Join me and wife in watching the stream. It'll be on Youtube and nearly any device to stream. We're looking at it on Roku what has an old "grandfathered" version of the Youtube app. Knock all this gloom n doom to the culvert for a spell, 'member ye got lives to live, so live and enjoy the livin'.

I respect everyone,s right to worship as they see fit. I do not respect their 'right' to force their views on others. And endangering the innocent is a very bad thing in my view.

Then you're as American as I am. Such belief and view is one of the Founding Principles I'd still gladly lay my life aside to honor. But do not ask me to lay myself down for Emperor Orange. Sorry, doing that would say I endorse stupidity. While I might tolerate some of it, I don't endorse it. We see eye as well on shoving beliefs on others. Though, I kind of strive to effect a secular America, at least in public and with the intention of just "keeping the peace". It don't matter an American's beliefs, they're American, enough said.

They must not be an furriner and not a genetic WVA type.

Well, I'm a VA to WV transplant myself. Been in WV long enough though to have become native. Don't know anything of the person who has contracted the Mexican Beer Virus aside from the rough location on the map. It's possible they're drifters of a sort.

with so many schools closed and many home schooling...
Well it is not going so well. Corporal punishment is back, several students expelled and a few teachers fired for drinking on the job.

I just did an over the phone interview with my local news. Discussed with them how this virus outbreak has effected my business and my ability to work and pay bills. Im self employed. Can't go to the unemployment office. Don't have too many options.
People are scared to have contractors working in their homes, and others aren't working themselves and can no longer afford to have me do the work that was scheduled.
Not looking for handouts, just awareness of who is affected and how.

Can you get any kind of help at all, since you’re self employed? I’m so sorry to hear about this, Chain.

Not sure what options there are, or will be available for people in situations like mine. Looking into available options has taken over the last 12 hours, and will become my main focus moving forward.
And thank you.

Our president is now claiming to be a war president.
Strange.. considering how he was denying it being real until long after we had been invaded.

Before it is all done he will have saved everyone of us, singlehandedly. And his minions will cheer.

yeah just have to hold it in a while.
by then we may all be shitting ourselves though. figuratively if not literally.

I hope not. I really never expected to be living through a plague in this life. Very strange.

Edit: Sourcemore is selling surgical masks now, and have an ad here for them!

I think this year will be known as the year of the corona Virus/recession in US/world history.
And since I am very young and will be around to read it...

Hey Edgar please communicate respectfully on the form. Its distracting us all from communicating the needs that we feel that need to be addressed as this situation unfolds. These are the cards we've been dealt with so lets be reasonable in our approach to make our work environment safe for everyone
You're blowing up on the wrong people!

It’s hard to communicate with people that are presented with factual arguments!

America, where you get just as much justice as you can afford.

Coronavirus testing shame: NBA stars, celebrities, politicians and billionaires with NO symptoms can access COVID-19 tests while sick members of public are turned away due to 'shortages'

I got this from a brit site btw. good world relations and all that.

Still not afraid of getting sick. More nervous about others and their actions / reactions around my family. As for getting 'the flu' earlier this year, some folks said the same thing about us where I work. There was something going around middle of December - January. It came, it took a few days to get over it, and then business as usual.

Not saying that's what it was, but it could very well be.

Not to mention it hit pretty hard, you know... Being the KUNG FLU and all... LOL!

Whether or not one feels they are socialistic is on them. I'm still at work, meaning myself and those that are still working are still paying that taxes. I won't ask for 'free money' nor will I ask for 'free testing'. I'm sure my insurance company will pay for it... And because I'm still making money, I'd be disqualified for 'free' anything really.

The difference between 'Trumps Socialism' and the other sides 'socialism' is one will lead to totalitarianism and the other is just trying to keep people afloat. I don't see anything wrong with giving stability to people affected by crisis.

I do however, see issues with giving people who are able and capable of doing something with their lives a free ride - while they choose to sit idly by and watch the world move around them.

I am one of many, I'm certain. But my life doesn't halt because the world around me does. I've weathered storms before, I'm sure I'll weather this one too. I'm sure the country as a whole will come back swinging as well. Right now though, taking crack shots at one side or another is off the table, we got bigger things to fuck about with.

So yesterday, I heard from a worker at meijer that they had trucks coming in last night at 10pm and on one of those trucks, they would have toilet paper.
So I decide to go there last night. Pick up a few items and wait by the back where the stock comes out of. Im waiting, and I see it. A full pallet, almost 7 feet tall of charmin 12 packs of mega rolls. It's beautiful!
So i patiently wait to see if they are going to bring it out on a pallet truck.

I wait and wait. It's not moving.

I politely ask the employee standing near the empty t.p. section when they are bringing more out. He tells me they aren't because they don't have any.

Wtf?

I tell him, sir, that's b.s. because I can clearly see a full pallet of it 10 feet away, thru that doorway.
He walks in there, looks around, and grabs a phone. Calls another employee to ask about the pallet of t.p.

He then walks over to me with a 6 pack of charmin and hands that to me. One single six pack of tp. I ask what's this?
He says that's all he can give me. That pallet im seeing is being kept for store use.

Mother fucker are you kidding me?! I've been looking for tp for DAYS and you're now hoarding in store?!

I took my package of 6 rolls. Said a few choice words. And left feeling rather disgusted by that.
Im not trying to hoard. Im just trying to get by. Im grateful that I found some. But disgusted that they are holding onto all of that when their shelves have been bare and people have been without and waiting.

Im not convinced that meijer is supplying their employees with an entire pallet of charmin.

Went with wife yesterday into town. She needed to go to Jeep dealership to get new tires on. We sat in the lobby looking at television local news. They had interrupted scheduled programming to cut to OH gov. talking about stuff their doing to deal.

So, part of the dealing was healthcare. They were rolling out tele-health. And they were talking about remote EKGs, use your smartphone to do that and let a doctor look over the results remotely. They were on about finding ways to get meals into the elderly and infirm daily. The great emphasis was on not needing to go to hospital, doctor, but rather using "new" technology to have direct access more affordably, more easily.

And in the course of talking about it the emphasis was that this is stuff they planned to be getting setup in no more than a week and a majority of it in 48 hours. It is an immediate need and the proverbial "button" had been pushed. They also mentioned that once this was implemented for the crisis it would remain in place.

Cut to five years ago. I had wondered about such stuff. I was told by several various pro types, by various government types that such a system was at least forty years away from even being imagined. Gee, all of the sudden it's here in reality in a week. Strange I think how four decades whizzed right by in five years. It proves to me that I'm correct to think it's a matter of the will needing to be present.

I look for telecom providers, services to benefit profit wise. ISPs will as well. The point being that now its seen as a means to profit for someone with influence, and likely affluence. And here I wondered why the FED has been pumping Trillions of dollars into this "GREAT ECONOMY" our glorious leader Trump has been touting. Well, it seems clear that communications and technology will be the infrastructure moving forward. It is going to be done in ways such as taking advantage of crisis.

People love when technology helps solve problems. Business (capital) loves when it can do more with less. And be assured there will be fewer doctors needed as the technology comes online. One doctor per thousand patients might soon be the reality. How? Well, one doctor could use diagnostic algorithms set up to interact with patients that call in, video in. We could do self service prescriptions with proper oversight and regulation. Medicines delivered by Amazon to our home.

Five years ago I was told I had no idea. Now, well gee awful funny seeing how my ideas then seem to be forming our reality now. I don't care beyond the principle of it. Sure, I could have sat down in a suit and "walked" the "pros" through how to set it all up, get it running. I didn't though. I was told it would take too long and would not be financially feasible, would be nearly undo-able.

Do I smell bullshit?

It's like the time that AOL tried selling me the "ability" to send video via email. I had already figured out you could record a video, send it as an attachment via email. You could do that freely on your own. It wasn't something profoundly genius or technical. But AOL was selling it for a monthly fee of $30 extra.

It's also like how some scripters created a graphical sudo program in GNU Linux. Most standard GNU Linux already comes with about three different free and open source such programs. It takes all of two minutes or less to look them up and install them. These scripters want $50 for their program. Boy did I laugh. But apparently they were getting it.

So yes, I smell bullshit even not being able to smell.

Excuse?
Just an observation.

Sadly, on the continuum of those on the other side of the aisle, Burr is one of the better guys, or so I thought. He seems to have worked well and been fairly receptive with my friend Senator Warner on the Senate Intelligence committee. So I am a little disappointed, however...

I think what you described with his unloading stocks - well, that happens all the time within that socioeconomic stratus, even though it's technically against the law. I think they look after each other pretty damn well, and just try to keep the word from getting out.

I have a lot of opinions about wealth. Have spent most of my adult life in reasonably close proximity to it, not participating, but observing. All one has to do is pay attention. This is the number one reason I was dead-set against the Large Orange from the get-go.

Y'all do remember the Old South, right? Gimme a Moon Pie and a Large Orange? Best I can do! :giggle:

Aw now, I thought it was a Moon Pie and an RC. *chuckles* It's funny in a way because when I go down to FIL's I can get a couple mini-moonpies and a diet Dr. Pepper which tastes exactly like an RC.

Probably was. Also coulda been a moon pie and a Grape Nehi.

But aside from all that, it's what we've got - a Moon Pie and a Large Orange. It just fits. Personally I'd rather listen to the Moon Pie than the Large Orange.

I remember RC Colas. We used to call them "dope." Mom and her sisters could make three servings out of one 16-oz drink. Times were sure different then.

That’s so crazy, but I’m afraid we’re going to witness a lot more greed like this before we come out the other end of this corona thing.
All we can do is to act in ways that feels right to us. We can’t control other people, only ourselves. At least you’ve got friends here who understand what you’re going through and how you feel. Stay safe, you hear?:hug:

Insurance companies like Oscar have Telemedicine as one of their basic services, for all of the time they’ve been available. (Five years or so? ) So it’s just been in the wings waiting to be rolled out.

I wonder how self prescribing meds works. Especially with all the legal pain killer folks out there, I mean those who got into it for the addiction part.

Possibly because parents/grandparents back then had memories of the Second World War and the rationing, and grew up hearing stories about the Depression.

My parents were very economical like that, too. It just ran in the family. I’m a cheapskate for the most part, too. (Makes Crom seem normal! j/k)
