I have pretty much decided not to give a shit about all this virus thing. Just stressful and wastes toilet paper.

j/k kinda....

Except for being smart about washing hands, avoiding people etc, I’m not sure what else we can really do - except maybe strengthening our immune systems.

Not panicking is also helpful. Not sure what else we can do.

Google The Strange Familiar song Courage Is. <3

You’ll prolly hate it, but it made me cry when I first heard it.

Well, don't hate it. It's a very nice song. Granted it may be of the kind I listen to all the time. Still a very nice song.

While here I'll do my Wednesday check in with a rough skit of a scene between me and mom years ago.

Me: (sighs realizing I've just pulled a double shift, 16 hours working hard, and in a few hours I go do it again.) "Mom, when do I get to stop running?"

Mom: (Pretending to not notice my exhaustion, exasperation but still noting it and choosing to push as moms are wont to do with sons that scare them.) "Oh Benny, you'll figure it out. You always do. Until then you can muddle through, you always do."

Me: "Gee thanks. What happens though when I can no longer figure it out or keep muddling through."

Mom: "Sorry son, there's no information booth handing out answers to questions like that. All we get is what I just gave you."

Me: "Well sh**! May as well f%$k me."

Mom: "Son, we're all born f*#ked. All we got is 'make the best of it'."

Me: "Is there water based lube?"

Mom: "Only sometimes on rare occasions. The rest of the time it's b.o.h.i.c.a, b.o.h.i.c.a!" (B.o.h.i.c.a == Bend over here it comes again. Translated for all you non-Rangering types.)

Me: "Lolly."

No ventures out of the homestead planned for today unless we decide to take our dog for a walk at the game reserve. The dog loves it there, lots of interesting new smells and rabbits so she can try to jerk whoever is holding the leash arm out of it's socket when she sees one. So far no threats of closing the reserve down.

Just WFH for now.

So I haven't left the house for about 10 days now. All my online deliveries are starting to come in. Got a whole case of Shake n Bake...(whoot! :D It's the simple pleasures now, right?) Anxious to see if I get everything I ordered.

Been finishing up some shows I've been watching, doing some odd n end chores around the house. I think I might start cleaning out closets!

For the state of things in Ohio... My best friends flower shop had to close... she had to get rid of all her flower inventory... so she made a bunch of bundles and put them on the curb of the shop for free. Then surprised me, Mom, and my cousin with arrangements. I love how she was able to take something so bad for her and turn into good smiles for others.

You got a case? I didn't see that. I only saw the value pack of 4 pouches. I forgot to actually place the order. Cart was full but didn't checkout for some reason. I tried to tried to place it but there is no window open at the present time. I've been waiting since Sunday. I know they've prioritized what they consider a priority. But my S&B is in that order! Plus I found keto friendly ice cream. Yumm.

We've been remiss in doing anything to the house over the last 2 weeks. I called the flooring place and asked them go put us back on the books. So we're waiting to hear. They were supposed to do the flooring yesterday, but we called and cancelled due to our compromised immune systems. But I thought it would be great to have it done so we can get stuff my stuff out of storage and get our baths redone. We decided to get rid of a long sofa that is quite heavy. Very solid made sofa. It's too heavy for one, even 2 people to remove so I'm thinking about getting it reupholstered. I love how long it is. 8 ft and 6ft seating area.

Well, I'm off to close 13 tabs I have open. I'm sure I have things in each of the carts. Why can't everything I need be at one vendor.

Good morning everyone! I’ve been well along with my family. My husband works for a milk processing plant so we’ve been ok with finances, his job is definitely considered essential.

Being stuck in this house though is killing me!

Checking in. Not much going on here that's any different. I'm not planning to leave the house today.

Our main effort over the last few days, that has been largely unsuccessful, is trying to get our hands on some echinacea. Hubbs and I have both been taking it for immune support, and now we are almost completely out. I ordered several bottles from Vitacost last week, but the order is still sitting there in a "Processing" status. Yesterday morning I ordered a bit more from an eBay seller, but then later in the day I discovered that hubbs is completely out, and when I checked eBay again I realized that delivery on that item is set for next week. Last night I was able to find a seller in NC that is supposed to be able to have some to us by Saturday. That's the best I've been able to do. Neither Walmart nor Dollar General nearby have had any in stock since about Monday the 16th. I gave hubbs the rest of what I had left.

Update: I just located two bottles of an echinacea blend at the Walgreens in town. I called the store to verify that they are onhand, and hubbs is now on the way to get them. If he actually does get his paws on them, that will be good news.

Going through a Kindle Unlimited book about every other day now. It's good there are a lot of them. I can see where, if this carries on very long, I'll end up reading some of those trashy romance novels with barechested men on the covers. That will be a sad day for me. Might would rather watch sitcoms and Lifetime movies on TV.

Once again grateful to VU for scaring the bejeezus out of me in time to stock up on everything I could possibly need to vape. That's at least one thing I don't have to think about.

Our President is out of his mind if he thinks things are going to be back to normal by Easter. 'Nuf said.

Someone had asked me about Liberty University in Lynchburg, and I can't recall who it was. The dorms and some of the admin buildings are open, but Jerry Falwell Jr was on CNN this morning and gave quite a decent overview of their reasoning and the precautions they have taken to keep the people who are there as safe as possible. I am generally not his biggest fan, but have to say that I was more relieved than I would have expected to be by the things he said this morning. Alison Camerota didn't tear him limb from limb, so apparently she agreed. The main point he made was that many of the students who actually came back to campus after spring break were international students who have nowhere else to go.

Don't know the details of it yet, but good news this morning that the Congress was able to pass the relief legislation they've been working on for several days. A good shot of cash will help at least some people feel some stress relief for a little while.

That's it for me. Stay safe, everybody, do what you can to help others be safe as well. Fuss at kids who are doing stupid stuff. They'll make a face, and possibly snap back, but after that maybe they will think.

It really is easy, wet, flour, egg and then breadcrumbs. Just a little oil in a pan. Comes out so crispy and tasty if you want to spice it. Best part is an easy clean up versus frying.

Oven-baked meats are delicious. Pork chops are wonderful done in parmesan bread crumbs and butter.

Country style steak, oven-fried and then braised in rich brown gravy. Oh, be still my heart!

Oh! I read that the Post Office may be shutting down. Not until late June as they only have enough funds to keep it going until then. In summary, the post office must continue to run. Folks order medications through the mail. And we all depend on it. I never thought I'd see the day mail is cut off. I hope the government does something. And, I hope the postal workers, Steve, are paid double, are medically insured and have their deductibles waived for taking the risk.

All is well...

Think I may of had a little to much coffee to quickly this morning... been a long time since I've experienced jitters, and I drink coffee all day lol
Be safe everyone...truly.

I haven't been able to drink caffeinated coffee since after giving birth to my first born. I used to be able to drink it all day as well. Only in the last year have I been able to have one cup of caffeine in the morning. Usually it's decaf k-cups. I really do need to find a delicious alternative to k-cups. I just ordered 2x my usual order of Barista Italian Roast decaf to the tune of $120. Chuck has fallen on hard times, too. So I opted to pay for his 2x Starbucks at $60. That put me over $150 at Amazon so I deferred it. I hate when I do that. I don't like owing money.

I wonder how they will disburse the funds to citizens. That's a lot of people. And I like how they will be disbursing to tax payers since they'll know what income qualifies for the relief. It appears they will send checks unless they give us the option to opt-in to bank deposits.

I'm so glad to hear that the bill passed and Trump signed it. The senate passed the legislation quickly since they were not getting paid until passed. I agree that Trump is out of his mind to think this will blow over within 5 weeks. He may just be saying that to give people hope. Nah.

I was happy to find out my pharmacy was still open, they’re inside of a store. I also needed a prescription filled that was claimed it wasn’t ready yet and they were still able to give me the extra I needed! There’s still some good going around! :)

One eBay item:

332296005537 (I always get the Cremoso, which as luck would have it, is out of stock now, but the others are also very good)

and one Amazon item:

Cost about 22 cents a cup, best I can figure, good, rich Italian coffee. I love it, have been using this for years now.

I'm sure it's not the best for a true coffee snob, but I'm not that, so....

I’m okay, isolating but still keeping calm and sane. I’ll be stocking up more on stuff once I brave the outside world and get to the bank! Possibly it’s time to see how to bank online, since depositing checks might be dicey if things get worse in NY.

Hope everyone is staying safe and feeling good. <3

Online banking will come in handy. Good idea. I can't even tell you when I last put a check in an envelope and mailed it.

I don’t mind taking a walk to the mailbox, it’s traveling to the bank and going to the most crowded area around here that’s scary!

I had the flu bad around Thanksgiving and it’s come back twice since, and I’m still out of sorts. So having to mix with people right now is not something I’m looking forward to. :yikes:

I tried to deposit a check online once from my device but it didn’t work. I guess I’ll have to dig out my laptop. I’ve been spoiled using an iPad. It’s so light and convenient.

I don’t think it’s the kind of song you can listen to over and over. The last time I listened was about five or six years ago.

Growl, my family is made up of nutters, mostly though it’s the ones they married. Sorry I had to vent. Some people just don’t realize that this pandemic is life changing, and just go on with their petty bullshit like nothing’s changed. :smh:

I will. I was thinking about using the ATM to deposit checks, but I’ve never done it before. I don’t need to make a withdrawal, just put funds in. I’ll figure something out, though.

Great thing about the atm and doing that... don’t need to put it in an envelope anymore... just feed checks in.

Additionally banks also allow you to deposit via phone app (checks) you just snap a picture thru the app and boom deposited.

I tried it with my phone and it didn’t want to work. But at least this time around I’ll just go there, while the bank is still open for business.

I read somewhere that banks might close, but I’m hoping we don’t get to that 1929 place.

Thanks for reminding me to check if our branch is open. Only the ATM is working. I also downloaded the app, and I’ll see if it will work. But I think the ATM would be faster, maybe.

You might want to look into growing Echinacea - I used to grow it every summer in Alaska, it's very easy, very beautiful and if this thing lingers on, it might pay off to grow your own

I lagged on getting any started here, but did start some seeds for germination last weekend at least; another overlooked plant great for dealing with respiratory health is Yarrow, which I did start about a month ago

When I'm lucky enough for JuicyLucy to send me some from Hawaii.

Man, that has gotten harder to get here already - am hoping to make contact with my favorite farmer directly but the rumor is he is scared of the virus (he has lots of little kids) and is hard core quarantining

Was only able to get one pound yesterday, which is only about a week's worth for us :(

EDIT: Checking in  All is well except we are considering coffee rationing, lol

Cheap homemade shake and bake: You need butter, Progressive Italian style bread crumbs, chicken, aluminum foil and baking sheet.
Melt butter and coat chicken in butter, then coat chicken in Progressive Italian style bread crumbs. Line baking sheet with foil and put breaded chicken on foil. Put baking pan in 350 degree oven and bake for one hour.
It's easy and very good!

So I went for some toilet paper, again, toilet paper buying fail ground hog day.
It was supposed to be 1st hour of opening for emergency workers to shop and not being one I waited till the time was up. When I got in it was all gone, again. I asked a lady I know who works there did they get much in? She said yes the shelves were full. I then asked about the hours, when they were gone and mentioned the emergency workers hour. She said nobody paid any attention to it and people just poured in as soon as they opened, anyone and everyone, and it was gone before an hour was up.
Will see how I go tomorrow. :giggle:
